levaquin gas

All of the side affects are due to the Levaquin. I would have to have a gun pointed to my head before I took levaquin, and even then I might still refuse. Levaquin is a very "punishing" medication. Levaquin has it's mplace in the physicians armamentarium. For example, if I had bubonic plaque, I might consider levaquin. But they have an EXCELLENT drug marketing program. The symptoms will eventually disappear. Don't change your synthroid dose.

I realize that abdominal bloating and gas are very common complaints. But am very concerned, somewhat anxious and getting depressed, so am seeking any guidance or information that anyone in this forum has to offer. Developed abdominal bloating, gas, and burning sensation in the navel area about 3.5 weeks ago. No nausea, fever, vomiting, but constipation. Went to ER a few days later. Abdominal and chest xrays, urinalysis, blood work, abdominal ultrasound were all normal at that time.

I woke up with this issue (gas, cramps and gurgling and pain most likely from gas)on Apr 14, 2015 and have had it ever since. The colon gurgles especially after eating (anything). I release an enormous amount of gas regularly. I have hade constant pain in the upper left quadrant. I have had an abdominal ultrasound which showed some gall bladder sludge; everything else normal. Abdominal CT scan with barium and iodine. No issues.

I had renal blood work done that came back within normal parameters and have yet to get my stool results back from the lab. My Dr. put me on Levaquin and atropine which i have been taking for 4 days with no improvement in my symptoms. I am now experiencing pain in my lower left abdomen. I aa also losing weight. What tests should I be asking for at this point? Thank you in advance for any information that you may offer.

I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.

Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage. Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

After about five hours of sleep at nigh, I do awake as I feel gas pain. Two consecutive nights prior to all of this arising, I foolishly (probably) ate popcorn as a snack late at night prior to going to bed. I am wondering if this has something with a kernel not being fully digested causing some irritation. Anyhow, during this two week span, I've visited my primary care giver twice. I have had no loss of appetite, no fever, no nausea.

HE THEn gives me a cream for the jock itch............He prescribed me Levaquin and Flomax but i had a bad reaction to Levaquin after just 5-7 days on it (Rash on one shoulder and weak knees).....After coming off the Levaquin my Prostate seemed to be more sensative and i was more Gassy.and more inflamed. I experienced pain in my underarm Lympnodes and an increase in stomach gas... i return to the urologist and he tells me...i have Chronic Prostatitis TYPE II and III.....

Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.

No change in bowel or bladder except he recently has been on levaquin for second episode of prostatitis (first episode 20 years ago). Any ideas about what is going on? thanks so much.

My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.

I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?

I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?

My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).

Again the symptoms receded but again they returned. This time my doctor prescribed Levaquin (7 days x 500 mg) and 1 shot of Ceftriaxone. I was re-tested for Chlamydia and don't have the results yet. I read scary reports of serious side effects of Levaquin. It's potent but has risks which is why it's given only as a second line of defense. I'm nervous about taking it and I'm wondering if there are effective alternatives to this.

Went to see a doctor, who confirmed prostatitis--not BPH--with digital probing, and gave me azithromycin, then levaquin, ten day courses of each. Neither had any noticeable effect beyond making me constipated. I did online research and found out that most prostatitis is not bacterial, a possibility the doc (who was elderly) did not even appear to consider.

Hello about 3 months ago I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respirtory infection. Well I did experience the normal side effects listed online but then started getted ringing in my ears. I only had a few days left of the medication and didn't realize the ringing wouldn't go away since the doctor told me it was due to an ear infection. I have been off balance and have had visual problems and anxiety of not feeling right sometimes through the day.

My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?

I do not know whom to believe. I took 7 days of Levaquin and did feel better. Now my liver enzymes are slightly elevated, and I'm not sure if it is the Levaquin, or the bacteria causing the elevation, and is areomonas a pathogen or not?

severe constipation, severe gas pressure on my left side, pain in my penis and bladder, pain in my penis when urinating, urgency, a tight scrotum with ultra-sensitive "burning" skin, and an occassional rash on my hands, feet and abdomen. The clinic doctor did not think that any of this was related to my initial injury and told me to go see my personal doctor, which I did. As a result, I ended up having two ultrasounds (one from the clinic and one from my personal doctor).

Five months ago I had taken Levaquin. The doctor gave it to me for bronchitis. After a couple of days I started feeling pain in my upper chest, shoulder, down my right arm and right underarm. The pain feels like a needle is jabbing me. Sometimes the pain will go away and somtimes it is very bad and lasts for weeks at a time. I also have some musle pain in these areas. I was given Levaquin 750mg qd for 5 days. I am almost 67 years old. Soon after the Levaquin, I developed Neuroathy in both of my feet. My neurologist was surprised, and ordered all types of diagnostic lab work to seek an answer. All labs were either wnl or negative. Do you have any suggestioons for treatment or an answer to how long this will continue to occur. I am a retired hospital pharmacist, and the neuropathy is disableing me.
