Avatar m tn I was on Levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.
Avatar m tn Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am on Levaquin for a sinus infection and I just found out that my sexual partner had gonnorhea. And I was wondering if the Levaquin would take care of the gonnorhea if I had it.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately I had to start a course of Levaquin for a sinus infection and UTI. I am scheduled to complete the course of Levaquin on Tuesday, February 5. Is it safe to try to get pregnant on Friday, February 8. I have not started any prenatal vitamins, is it foolish to start prenatal vitamins along with the Levaquin or should I have been taking these a few months beforehand?
Avatar f tn So now I'm on Levaquin for 3 weeks for a sinus infection. One of the side effects is tendonitis. I already have tendonits (both wrists) and everything has failed including physical therapy and steroid injections, i was referred to surgeon now as nothing has worked, have an appoint in November. Avatar n tn Will Levaquin take care of NGU? I have 750 mg prescription from a doctor for sinus? How long would I have to take it? I also have 500 mg prescription of Clarithromycin as well.
Avatar n tn I am on my third round of anti-biotics for a sinus infection and cannot get any relief. The first round was 14 days (cannot remember name) along with a one week supply of Prednisone. The infection seemed to get better, but came back very strong 3 days after my meds were finished. My head hurt so badly that I was crying and had to use an ice pack to help ease the pain. My doctor gave me Levaquin (10 days), another 7 day supply of Prednisone, and Lortab 10mg.
Avatar f tn I am a 37 mother with no prior history of sinus infection. I had what I thought was an evil flu or Lyme disease--body aches with an other-worldly headache that caused pain in my jaw. No fever or stuffy nose, but mucus dripping down the back of my throat. Whenever I bent over and my head was upside down I saw stars--my first clue that I had a sinus infection of some kind.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed leviquin for bronchitis and sinus infection after a prior antibiotic didn't work. I was also put on a steroid (dextremethisone) something like that. It was a 10 day treatment. The first couple doses made my heart feel like it was coming out of my chest, that passed.
Avatar f tn My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?
793305 tn?1493925518 Can I take Levaquin (quinolone antibiotic) at the same time as my synthroid...pharmacist said yes, but I'm skeptical...Everything messes with synthroid...but both need to be taken with lots of water and on empty stomach...kidney infection...my third in a year. How rude.
Avatar f tn I had a sleep study done and waiting for results. I have had Levaquin 500 mg for 20 days. Then Levaquin 750 mg for 10 days. I still have fever and sinus headaches. The doctor also started me on Mucinex. I do not think it is doing anything at all. My fever varies from 99.9 to 100.5. I am always tired. I don't feel I am getting any answers and I don't want to feel like this anymore.
1137036 tn?1263515995 Then about a month and a half ago I got really stressed and started worrying often, and got a sinus infection about 2 weeks later. The doctor took xrays and gave me amoxicillin clavulanate. He said one side cleared after a week, but the right side needed another week or antibiotics. I never really felt 100% better and then last Friday I started having ear pain and little fever. So I started myself on Levaquin 500 mg a day.
Avatar f tn I had sinus surgery about 5 months ago and they diagnosed me with psudemonas and no seems to be able to help me, can you?
Avatar n tn The symptoms usually, but do not always disappear. Mine lasted for nine months. And I foolishly requested the Levaquin myself! I am reminded of the Space Odysessy script where Hal the computer says: "I seem to be making a fee bad decisions lately". Curiously many people take Cipro without problems (a drug of the same class) but have no tolerance for Levaquin.
Avatar m tn Levaquin isn't used in 90% of the country (if you mean the US) for gonorrhea, but it is used frequently for prostatitis. And no, gonorrhea wouldn't show up on a pap smear. It would, however, show up on an std test that the doc might have done along with the pap. You have a clear diagnosis of an infection in your prostate. I would go with that.
Avatar m tn Doctor prescribed Prednisone,Zithromax, Acyclovir [for cold sores] and Clindamycin cap 300 mg for sinus infection. Just lately I got acid reflux.... hard to swallow... even when I did it was bad... slight burning to severe burning feeling on the left hand side of my mid upper chest area. I went back again to see the doctor who told me the coughing, wheezing [which now both had stopped... nearly completely] from the sinus infection is proobably the causes of it. He now prescribed AdipHex....
Avatar m tn Yes, I've left a message for my doctor asking for an alternative. I'm waiting for is reply.
Avatar m tn was prescribed levaquin 500mg for 7 days.
Avatar f tn treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.
Avatar m tn I don't think Levaquin can be used to treat bacterial STD's (though I could be mistaken). Doxycycline (100 mg 2x per day for 7 days) can be used to treat effectively all sexually transmitted bacterial infections (Syphilis as well, but it would require 2 weeks on that treatment). But I don't think this is STD related. This could easily be due to something else. I had a similar problem which lasted several weeks while I was in London.
Avatar f tn t want to battle with my doctor (who is a huge advocate of levaquin), but it seems that levaquin is not the right direction for me (I am allergic to penicillin), even if I were to develop pneumonia, which, with the corticosteroids, is also an increasing possibility. Do you have any further insight on this for me? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn After my oral exposure I took Avelox, 400mg 1 x day for 8 days for a sinus issue. during that time I started experiencing the genital symptoms. I was scared and went to my Uro who tested my urine, negative and clear for bacteria WBC, etc., and did a rectal secretion and found obvious bacteria in my prostate.
