s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose.
My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?
Symptoms include pain in penis, slight burning AFTER urination erectile problems. I had a brief unprotected sexual encounter two weeks ago and went to a clinic today whereby they gave me a blood test for Chlamydia. The results were positive. I have no discharge or pain at the tip of the penis as I have read. While I plan to get a urine test. Should I be concerned about the positive blood test?
I don't give doses to people who haven't been to the doctor. I don't believe in self treating, and I'm sure with a little research, you could find out for yourself.

I'm a male and recently had unprotected oral sex and a few days later began feel uncomfortable and have had the urge to urinate a lot. The urination itself doesn't hurt, but afterwards there can be a slight stinging sensation. Reading up on symptoms I can either have a UTI or gonorrhea.

Other risks he said were not valid with no apparent viral sores on mouth of partner. Took the Flagyl and 4 days of Levaquin and resumed contact with normal monogomous partner. Partner later developed what GYN called a bladder infection with horrible back pains and frequent urination / urgency. She rcvd, Nitrofuran mono 100mg and took several days...did not work. Went to PCP and he gave her 6 days of Levaquin 500 mg and 5 days of Flagyl 250 mg 3 per day. That seemed to clear her up.
I got symptoms that resemble chlamydia or gonorrhea (frequent urination, weird feelin in the tip of my penis) so I took levaquin 750mg tabs once a day for five days. Is that enough levaquin to knock out either of those stds? I'm still gettin the urge to urinate frequently and now I'm wondering could it be some kind of bladder infection? Any help is appreciated greatly.
At this point I still had a bit of swelling in the testicle and spoke with my urologist and was prescribed another course of levaquin. ive taken it for 7 days now and see that i am still having the clear discharge and have some discomfort.
also, i was also treated for a mycoplasma pnemonia infection about 3 weeks prior and was given clarithomycin for 10 days.
i went to a new doctor, because I just moved out of state, and am waiting the results of a urinalysis.
Last year had my first UTI but this year no UTI but presented with same symptoms i.e. burning upon urination, and had sensation around the urethra. I have made changes to my diet which I believe is helpful. STD tests negative, urine cultures negative. No visual injury to the urethra.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to treat the hyperactive nerve or the feeling/irritation when voiding. Also, the symptoms are mainly experienced during the day time versus the night time.
None of these is likely to cause pain without discharge or other symptoms. But if you were incubating gonorrhea or NGU, the azithromycin and levaquin would have prevented them. The fact that the treatment made no difference is further evidence that the pain was not due to any STD.

I have slight raised swelling around the opening of my penis that seems to flare up after oral and vaginal sex. I have recently been treated for epididymitis with Levaquin and had been on Doxycycline for acne for two months prior to this. I do not have any discharge and I have not had any frequent urination problems either. There is occasional itching at the opening that comes and goes. Does this sound like Chlamydia or Gon? Is there any other cause for this?
Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.
Yeast, bacterial vaginosis, thrush, chlamydia, ghnorrhea, trich, uti, and so on and absoulutely everything is negative. Im at a loss as everyone keeps throwing antibiprics at me and nothing is clearing this up. I have a referral with a specialisf but it hasnt been accepted yet. Now it is 2011 and I am experiencing abnormal bleeding and discharge that is brown in color. I have painful urination and mild pain during sex.
I am too embarrassed to let anyone know and I can not afford to seek medical attention.
Is it possible that one dose of antibiotic didnt help? And if so, why am I just now experiencing these symptoms? I should tell you that I have been abstinent for a long time now.

Handsfield I understand that Chlamydia is not transmitted orally so my fears were primarily GC since the Levaquin is a fluoroquinolone. After the Avelox, Flagy and 4 days of the Levaquin I resumed sex with my partner. She had the Bladder infection not long after that and was treated with Nitofuran, Flagyl, 750 mg per day x 6 days and Levaquin, 500 mg per day for 6 days...at the same time I was still on the Levaquin...
he prescribed me doxycycline and phenazopyridine. I was tested for chlamydia,gonorhea,and trichomaonas, and they all came back negative. I had no sexual intercouse of any kind with the stripper, no ral nothing. I have never had sex before period. Im concerned because they didnt test for herpes. Is there a possibility I have herpes even though theres no visible sores what so ever. Should I go get tested. Or is this just anxiety thats really bothering me.
After 5 doses of Levaquin, I had neck pain all the time and neck stiffness after I started Levaquin which made me feel somekind of dizzy and offbalance. I thought it might be a side affect of Levaquin.
I went back to Urologist after 10 days , he said the inflammation is gone and pushed my prostate and there wss some discharge.He prescibed Bactrim for 10 days, Day 2 of bactrim I got a severe sore throat.
I went in to my new doctor the next day (the pain had already started to go away before I saw him) and he called it epididymitis as well. He perscribed Levaquin for a week and I felt fine after that. I ended up traveling to Ecuador and became ill with some sort of food poisoning during the last 2 or 3 days of my antibiotics cycle. The food poisoning passed I thought and I had sex with my girlfriend.
My symptoms are stinging during urination and dull pain in my penis at other times (most of the time). Sometimes, I forget about (don't notice) the stinging but then it will return. After a urine test showed traces of blood/bacteria in my urine, I was given 10 days of Cipro for a bladder infection. After 5 days on Cipro, my arms and legs broke out with non-itchy red dots (doc gave me steroids to get rid of the spots and told me to finish all of the Cipro).
