I want to ask if any one have information about tonsillitis in early HIV infection,And how it is common?? ,i looked to many forums ,several people develop tonsillitis after unprotected sex and fortunately most of them, their test come back negative for HIV ! and i am one of them who got Tonsillitis after exposure.

Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.

I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose. My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?

Many antibioitics cause reflux. Levaquin is a strong one and is known to cause problems. I would recommend that you take the Levaquin with dinner tonight (it is supposed to be taken with food) and then enjoy the evening with your husband so you can both monitor your symptoms. If you have the difficulty breathing again, you should go to an ER. Also, if you are an asthmatic, you probably just need to use your inhaler on a regular basis while you get over this infection.

I went to the doctor on Friday, May 28 and he said I had a sinus infection. He prescribed me Levaquin, but the sore throat has not changed any and it is May 31. How long before I start to see a change in sore throat with the antibiotics? If by chance I did have oral gonorrhea, would the levaquin cure it? With the sinus infections I have had in the past, I have had discolored nasal discharge, but drainage with this sinus infection seems to be more mucus down back of the throat.

Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.

I was on levaquin a couple years ago, it made me very sick to my stomach and gave me some joint pain. I didn't realize until after I took it that it can damage tendons and I read it can also cause hernias. I would never take it again. That's just my opinion, I would also ask for something else.

I went to the dr. today and was dx with a UTI. I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I feel the doctors have done little effort to find the root cause for all of this and to find the right treatment.

If you have been taking levaquin, do not have a urine chlamydia test. Levaquin cures chlamydia and would make the test negative, even if you were infected recently. At this point, there is no point in having any more chlamydia testing at all.

I would trust the pharmacist. I have had levaquin and synthroid and it has been fine. They have website that you can search the reaction of medications with each other. Just google it. Good luck!

In 1966, while at Camp Pendleton Marine base, I became very sick with a sore throat, fever, chills etc. I went to the base doctor and was advised I had tonsillitis and they were too swollen to operate. I was sent to the barracks to rest. I was worse the next day and went back to the clinic. I was advised again that the doctor could not opoerate and that I should return to the barracks. That night I did not think I would survive.

I am really worried about Heart Rheumatism which is strongly associated with tonsillitis, especially that I am having chest pain ,difficulty to breath and my fitness is worsening (I become tired very quickly).. At this point I still had a bit of swelling in the testicle and spoke with my urologist and was prescribed another course of levaquin. ive taken it for 7 days now and see that i am still having the clear discharge and have some discomfort. also, i was also treated for a mycoplasma pnemonia infection about 3 weeks prior and was given clarithomycin for 10 days. i went to a new doctor, because I just moved out of state, and am waiting the results of a urinalysis.

I went back to doctor and went on another cycle of levaquin. The swelling still remained and the spot remained too, until I took a Q tip and wiped it away myself (lol gross, but it was bothering me). Ever since the second cycle of levaquin I have had the feeling of my throat swelling up, and a sensation of a lump whenever I swallow.
