levaquin and shoulder pain

After a couple of days I started feeling pain in my upper chest, shoulder, down my right arm and right underarm. The pain feels like a needle is jabbing me. Sometimes the pain will go away and somtimes it is very bad and lasts for weeks at a time. I also have some musle pain in these areas. Can you please help me figure out what to do about this.

I did find that taking 3 mg of boron a day (purchased at a health food store) inactivates the fluoride and got rid of the joint pain and burning in about a week. However to this day 4 years later the tightness in my leg remains. I worked with a trainer and my muscles are fine now. These drugs should be avoided at all cost!

I went to PT today to see why my left shoulder arm are aching and causing non-stop pain. I was afraid it was a frozen shoulder , which I was told I am headed for anyway from the weakness in my left arm and the atrophy . The other option I could think of was a rotator cuff tear. Thankfully she ruled both of those out and said I had brachilis tendinitis. Add this to the slowing resolving pneumonia and fatigue and I doing jimmy-dandy.

Now, 12 months after my doses of Levaquin, same Achilles tendon symptoms but now in my right ankle. And possibly feeling it in my right shoulder and right hip (but not sure if this is part of the Levaquin). This is awful! Feeling like suing, but can't anymore since J&J put out a blackbox warning a few years ago. However, I did not know of any side effects. Any comments or suggestions?

I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.

They switched my ab to Levaquin 250 for 7 days. No change in the infection, still had diarrhea, joint pain and back pain. AB was switched to Levaquin 500 for 10 days and I honestly felt GREAT!! 3 - 4 days all symptoms came back so they put on Levaquin 250 again. I had to give a stool sample and get a colonscopy - which came back negative. The stool sample showed no bacteria so I stopped the Levaquin as tinging came back. I have gone down hill since.

I have used ultrasound and supplements and creams and i still have pain. I cant tell you how i rue the day that i took this antibiotic. But no a little rest wont just do it if you have levaquin tendonitis. I read of a person who had it and 6 months later they were putting on their pants and they tore both achiles tendons. I know you are a conventional doctor but conventional medicine gave you this look outside of it.

You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin. Most times this wears off (the good news), but there are instances of long-term damage from this particular antibiotic (that's the bad news). Statistics are on your side.

He told me I had prostatist and put me on levaquin 500mg. for a month and two weeks. I still been having pain in groin now and the last time I went to the urouligist he said me and wife had inflammation. Just take ibprofen 500 mg for inflammation. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.

so had cipro and levaquin in the past,lost 1 tenon in each shoulder due to rupture,have joint and tendon pain when tsking certain antibiotics,recently amox clav,guess you can be sensitive to My penicillin too.all drs look at me like im crazy when i tell them im. not tolerating an rx,huh? anyway,i usually feel better about later in day 1 or 2 then by day three its excruciating bordering on unbearable,what to do?

I was on levaquin a couple years ago, it made me very sick to my stomach and gave me some joint pain. I didn't realize until after I took it that it can damage tendons and I read it can also cause hernias. I would never take it again. That's just my opinion, I would also ask for something else.

I have popping sounds in my knee, shoulder, wrist, fingers and morning stiffness in my heels. I also have just pain in my left knee and wrist and bone pain when I feel cold. Wife has pain in her left knee and right elbow that comes and goes with or without it being cold. She never took any medication. The woman who I cheated with has a bad left knee too. And takes iburfroen. She told me that she dont have any STD, but I think she is lying. She now has moved away.

Now After the surgery the pain is worser, I get tingling, sharp shoting pain from the shoulder to my elbow to the forearm. Afetr the surgery he said I did not have Tendonitis. 5 months after the surgery I took another MRI which show I still have Tendonitis/Tendon Tears and this time it's worser than before. If you have been taking levaquin, do not have a urine chlamydia test. Levaquin cures chlamydia and would make the test negative, even if you were infected recently. At this point, there is no point in having any more chlamydia testing at all.

My rheumatologist confirmed that I am one of them, since I have gotten tremendous and long-lasting shoulder pain while on Cipro--and then a flareup later while using VIgamox, not yet understanding the possible connection. Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file.

I too suffer from Levaquin toxcity ruptured shoulders bicep and now I believe my hip is ruptured I live in pain everyday Nothing they give me completely gets rid of the pain. I am seeing a chiro for Levaquin detox just started so no progress yet this drug should beremoved from the treatment of any matter.

i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out. i was bieng treated for resistant ngu.

s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose. My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?

But i have read all the posts here which it seems everyone is having pain. My doctor examined me and said he does not feel no mass or lump but where i told him where the pain is he says is the "carotid artery" the pain intensifies up & down in degrees where some days it is sooo excruciating that i went to the ER because i couldn't take it any longer. The doctor at the ER felt it and said it was swollen and said i had swollen lymph node on the right side.

my urologist now wants to put me on a round of amitriptyline since the inflammation has not totally receded and since there has a decent amount of pain. Urine test both before and after a prostate exam have been negative, and both ultrasounds I've done seem to be normal, with the exception of some small, bilateral hydroceles.

He prescribed me Levaquin and Flomax but i had a bad reaction to Levaquin after just 5-7 days on it (Rash on one shoulder and weak knees).....After coming off the Levaquin my Prostate seemed to be more sensative and i was more Gassy.and more inflamed. I just wanted to update that the tendon issues and every other weird symptom under the sun is from fluoroquinolone toxicity from Levaquin. I was given IV Levaquin and steroids for my bout with sepsis and this is the result. I still have tendon issues, horrible neuropathy, and met several others with consistently high b12 and other b vitamin levels with FQ toxicity.

My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.

I went back to doctor and went on another cycle of levaquin. The swelling still remained and the spot remained too, until I took a Q tip and wiped it away myself (lol gross, but it was bothering me). Ever since the second cycle of levaquin I have had the feeling of my throat swelling up, and a sensation of a lump whenever I swallow. I can swallow and breath fine, it just feels like tightness, like I am being choked.
