Avatar f tn Has anyone had their Rheumatoid factor tested and if so what were the results. And how can we get this POISON off the market!!!!! And am I going to have to live like I am 90 yrs old (when I am 46) for the rest of my life????
Avatar n tn ) I have also had tests for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, as well as metabolic problems like thyroid -- have you had these tests? At this point, I think lyme disease is the most likely candidate for me (I hike a lot, though I'm in a low-risk area), and I'm going to ask the neuro about getting tested for it. I know how frustrating it is to go from being a perfectly healthy person to having chronic problems like this ... I hope you get some answers soon.
Avatar n tn I have had similar symptoms for 6 years. I was told MS, then Lupus, CFIDS, fibromyalgia, and now Rheumatoid Arthritis. None of the tests came back completely conclusive, so the doctors, I believe, just told me something to get me out of their hair. I am in really good shape, eat extremely healthfully, and live a very "clean" life, and still feel as if I'm 120 years old! Don't let people make you feel it is all your weight or lifestyle making you feel this way.
Avatar f tn Thank you, I was tested for rheumatoid arthritis and it came up negative. I read on another site that an increase in joint cracking popping sounds was a symptom of anxiety, but just one website said so. The joint popping was not one of my first problems, it came later. My first symptom was increased heart rate and panic atacks, then came the depersonalization, then it went all down hill from there.
Avatar n tn (CT scan finally confirmed that). Then still had ear troubles and the Ketek antibiotic didn't help ENT then gave me Levaquin and more steroids(pill & injection) At same time places a vent tube in my left ear. I immediately felt a horrible pressure in my right ear but strangly enough it would sometimes feel like my left ear was full. Then I get right ear tubed. So, for almost 2 years with the tubes and able to fly.
Avatar m tn the book by jay cohen has advice on the pain part too, it does act on your body like rheumatoid arthritis, so turmeric and i think ginger help there (i only tried turmeric, and the pain went away, but my tendons are still not ok, but they are getting better and better....very slowly... i am hopeful, i can now hike and stumble, like i tend to do, without injuring them, but i cannot jump yet. 7 months so far. but they are getting better. good luck!!
Avatar f tn Recurrent or chronic fever is seen in tuberculosis, SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) and other auto immune disorders, UTI, drug fever, sinusitis, glandular fever, otitis media, IBS, HIV, STDs, endocarditis, parasitic infestations, fungal infections, lymphomas and other cancers etc. In women, even polycystic ovary, menopause, PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) should be investigated for. Dehydration is a frequent cause of low grade fever with malaise.
Avatar f tn I have rheumatoid arthritis have been on methothrexate since December and am supposed to start enbrel next week. I got very sick the first of March with pneumonia and pleurisy. I took levaquin for 10 days and I still have the pain so the doctor ordered a ct scan. I have a strong family history of lung cancer in non smokers, I have been a smoker for over thirty years. This is my second bought of pneumonia in a year and a half. Please help me with the ct scan results.
Avatar n tn This pain would intensify which would cause me to wince in pain and then release and then repeat all over again every 5-10 seconds for about a minute. This pain did not radiate anywhere but only within a specific point. Then this same stabbing sensation occurred half way up to the first knuckle of my right middle finger about 30 minutes later. Then immediately following this finger pain I felt pain in my right foot at the joint of my middle toe.
Avatar n tn 1) I've been on an immunosuppressive (Remicade) for 3 yrs for Rheumatoid Arthritis, which keeps it under control. Other meds aren't being considered as they're also immunosuppressives, and RA severity has gradually increased; 2) hospitalizations began in late January due to a plugged common bile duct. However, night sweats and minor chills were occurring 6 months earlier; 3: An MRCP at Mayo was unremarkable; 4) latest labs show significant increases: CRP: 2.84; ALP: 205; SGOT: 93; SGPT: 83.
211940 tn?1267884866 I can't believe so many people have the same pain and so few have been diagnosed. I have been tested for Rheumatoid arthritis and PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) but the blood work came back negative. I am having pain in all joints but the nights are unbearable - especially with the upper arms. Last night I slept sitting up and had a better sleep that I have had for months. It's difficult to do but I cannot believe what a difference it made - 5 whole hours of sleep! Anything is worth a try...
Avatar n tn In Jun, I was sick with extreme fatigue, headaches, and dizziness. Saw a doctor in Jul and was given OTC headache meds. They did bloodwork that came back normal. Since that time I have had daily head pressure and tinnitus. The tinnitus comes and goes and can be really loud and annoying. Visited another doctor in Sep who thought it might be an allergic reaction and was given zyrtec for a month. No change with the head pressure.
Avatar n tn i had sex twice and everything was ok, and after the third time the problems began. my partner and i had hard sex and my penis hurt a bit when she was on top of me. i urinated a few minutes after ejaculating and blood came out along with a very big blood clot at the end. i had sexual intercourse about 7 or 8 times before seeing a doctor. the same occurred except for 2 times, in which no blood appeared.
1207048 tn?1282177904 rheumatoid arthritis, regular arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, thyroid issues, full metabolic workup, and more that I know I'm forgetting. I saw my regular primary care doctor, an endocrinologist, and an rheumatologist. All tests were perfectly normal, and most tests were run more than once. Since then I have had the random achy joint, usually involving my right ankle or foot, it lasts a while and gets better again. For the last few days I've been very achy.
Avatar f tn I feel completely ill all of the time. The kicker is....being on NSAIDS and having Rheumatoid Arthritis are both contraindications to prescribing Cipro, yet I as an RA patient who takes Voltaren on a daily basis to treat it was given Cipro as a first line antibiotic! Are doctors really this dumb and blind, or are you so deep in the pocket of the pharmaceutical companies that you really don't mind poisoning your patients?
Avatar n tn I have had my thyroid checked along with lupus and rhuematoid arthritis (negative). My bloodwork looks perfect. It's really very frustrating. In the meantime, I'm starting some physical therapy this week and getting massages. Hot tubs, heating pads, and muscle relaxers take the edge off (sometimes).
Avatar m tn I also was having arthritic symptoms in both hands, feet joints, and knees. They tested me for gout and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) but both tests came up negative. Since I was diagnosed with BCFS, my neurologist prescribed me Clonazepam to take at bedtime (one .5mg tablet), which has not gotten rid of the muscle spasms 100%, however it knocks me out so I have been getting restful sleep which has helped me quite a bit overall. Avatar f tn This can be checked by ruling out diabetes, thyroid disorders and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis first as the culprit. a cerebrospinal fluid examination showing oligoclonal bands and an MRI brain for plaques as areas of demyelination in white matter of brain and electrophysiological testing would help in diagnosis. Take care.
Avatar m tn Many autoimmune diseases have been identified and can affect almost any part of the body, including the brain (eg MS), nerves, muscles (eg ALS), skin (eg scleroderma), joints (eg rheumatoid arthritis), glands (eg Addison's, Grave's), the digestive tract (eg diabetes, Celiac), lungs, kidneys, blood vessels, etc. As others pointed out, MS is a disease of the central nervous system, hence why bruising is not a feature of the disease.
Avatar f tn Also, my doctor did a rheumatoid arthritis blood test and it can back negative. I'm 57 and have aches and pains sometimes but this is much, much different. I have also lost a fair amount of hair. I asked my doctor about that and she said fighting infection could absolutely cause hair loss. Argh... I didn't want to do steroids either and my doctor agreed. I am on the mend though, it's taken time. For me it'll be a year in November. Hopefully you are feeling better too.
Avatar n tn I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
Avatar n tn Do any members of your family (1st or 2nd degree) have other autoimmune diseases? lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, psoariasis, thyoid disease, other arthritis (not osteo). So the two things that you've mentioned that could fit MS would be the period of balance difficulties, a time of persiting fatigue, and depending on their character, the abnormal sensations in your hand and foot. So, my advice is Yes, mention these to your doctor. An MRI would not be out of line.
Avatar n tn I had surgery on it in March and am not sure why I still have a tear. I also have celiac disease and arthritis. I do not have RA as I was checked for it. Any suggestions as to getting this weight off. I have used diet pills off and on for yrs. with temporary success but DO NOT like how I feel when on them. I read an article on an herb call "ashwagandha" which is suppose to help convert T4 into T3. My doctor said not to mess with it.
Avatar n tn The headaches could be from a whole variety of causes - I cannot tell from what with just the above information but headaches can be from a more systemic medical condition (for instance rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis - possible rheum conditions in your age group) - in which case they need to be investigated promptly.
Avatar f tn It spead througout my body and everyone suspected the Levaquin. I finished the treatment and sought opinions from 3 doctors about my possible injury. I underwent numberous tests and too many rounds of steroids, cortisone injections, and OTC meds, but didn't experience relief. I developed flu like symptoms more than a week after the onset of arthritis symptoms. I developed swelling and severe pain in most of my joints, and have had periods of intense flare ups since then.
1063463 tn?1302278219 Since you have vertigo with uvetitis, autoimmune causes should be looked into. The various causes can be rheumatoid arthritis, sarcoidosis, idiopathic arthritis, Lyme’s disease, MS, side effects of drugs, and STDs like syphilis, herpes, cytomegalovirus and HIV. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn I also recently have had problems with joint swelling, rheumatoid arthritis and severe weight gain. The doctors tell me it could be an alergy or they are jsut not sure. Its gotten to the point where Its hard to do things and I am 20 years old. Life is becomming difficult and I am tired of being in pain and having to deal with kidney, brain and every other problem.
Avatar f tn I saw a Rheumatologist who ran tests for Lymes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and a head MRI for MS, all negative, but my ANA was borderline (Normal between 1-40, I was 40). I was Dx'd with Fibromyalgia. I started taking my temperature religiously, even buying 3 different types of thermometers, I had fevers 99% of the day. In all this time I would have dizzyness, heart pounding, hot, shaky when standing.
