discharge turned milky and was in very less amount, after 7 days i got severe rectal pain (inflamation) , urethral pain, severe cough with phlegm, chills, shivering, fever, docs did sputum culture and find pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus,cocci, i got admit in hospital docs gave me meropenem inj with doxycycline and klacid for 8 days.
Is there anything else that I can do in treating the pseudomonas. I wake up every morning full of congestion in my chest and cough for about 2 hrs in the morning and then through out the day. It is a productive cough.

I am feeling a bit uncomfortable in and around penis, testicles and around. I did some urine and STI tests and all came clear. I did a semen culture and it came positive for pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Is pseudomonas aeruginosa serious in semen and does it impacts fertility if left untreated?
Please suggest what is the right treatment for it when it is present in semen.

I've been hospitalized five times since the end of January. 2016 for recurrent Sepsis. The offending bacteria include E. Choli, Enterococcus, and others that live happily in the bowel. Admissions have ranged from 4 to 9 days. After the 4th admission, doctors said they didn't know what the underlying problem was, and suggested I might have better luck at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
After two visits to Mayo in MN, where nothing was found, I was admitted the 5th time back home.
Thank you for responding. The urologist just guessed at prostatitis and gave me levaquin which I have taken for 14 days and no results. I'm currently on my last Zithromax and still nothing has cleared. Is there any lab other than urology that can test for ureaplasma? M. genitallium came back negative about a week ago. The health dept. cleared me from having any other STD's. I would assume if I'm feeling a urethra burn it would be transmittable?
My daughter had pseudomonas several months ago and had to have her ear swabbed and cultured. The pseudomonas was resistant to all the drug classses but the newest cyclosporin. She has had chronic ear infections since she was a baby (she's 13).
t happen all of the time I guess it wakes me up. I have chronic pseudomonas bronchiectasis, and a disk in my lower back and one in the middle of my back that both need to have surgery. I haven't been ready to address this with a doctor, I am wondering if they could be causing this, but I doubt it.

I dont know what to do anymore, i feel desperate and frustrated and need some help and soon because my doctor doesnt seem to be worried, if id never gone for a second opinion they would have never discovered the bacteria he kept telling me i was ok, but the terrible headaches said otherwise. Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.
My dad is 81 and has chronic pseudomonas infection in his lungs. He also has COPD. This is his 4th round of getting this infection in 3 years. He just got out of the hospital from a 5 day stay 3 weeks ago and did a 10 day pick line antibiotic. His Dr called today and he still has the infection. They are calling it a 4+ pseudomonas infection. (whatever that means). He has done every antibiotic there is (pill form, nebulizer, inhalers and pick line) for this and nothing is working anymore.
I couldnt sleep the pain was so bad =( till i went to a diffrent DR and he took a swab of my ear and it come back saying that i had (pseudomonas) i didnt know what to think.....so the DR give me a script for CIPROX hc 500 tablets and ear drops ..within 2weeks the infection was gone =).........
s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose.
My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?
Many antibioitics cause reflux. Levaquin is a strong one and is known to cause problems. I would recommend that you take the Levaquin with dinner tonight (it is supposed to be taken with food) and then enjoy the evening with your husband so you can both monitor your symptoms. If you have the difficulty breathing again, you should go to an ER.
Also, if you are an asthmatic, you probably just need to use your inhaler on a regular basis while you get over this infection.
Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.
I went to the dr. today and was dx with a UTI. I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me.

I have been a patient at your facility in January, 2009, but no treatment was given to get rid of my pseudomonas. I really want this to be cured and know there has to be a way to cure it, even if it is a clinical trial. I am a 56 year old female. I am currently doing as much research as I can to find a cure for this, even if it means being treated outside of the U.S. because they may not be treating it here yet. Please advise if you have any treatments known and/or available.

I started having issues with my ears in aug. 2013, started with them just feeling "full", then it turned into me having retracted ear drums... I went to see an ENT (after MANY) attempts to have my normal Dr. Figure out what was going on, and many courses of antibiotics. ENT did hearing test, looked in my ears, confirmed ear drums were retracted, and I got more antibiotics... This went on for 7 mths....
At this point I still had a bit of swelling in the testicle and spoke with my urologist and was prescribed another course of levaquin. ive taken it for 7 days now and see that i am still having the clear discharge and have some discomfort.
also, i was also treated for a mycoplasma pnemonia infection about 3 weeks prior and was given clarithomycin for 10 days.
i went to a new doctor, because I just moved out of state, and am waiting the results of a urinalysis.
