levaquin and mucinex

I still have fever and sinus headaches. The doctor also started me on Mucinex. I do not think it is doing anything at all. My fever varies from 99.9 to 100.5. I am always tired. I don't feel I am getting any answers and I don't want to feel like this anymore.

and yes I am taking similar to you like Nexium 1x but after seeing what you took I might take it 2x and also Maalox and yes I was taking Augmentin, Levaquin, amoxcillan Mucinex and feel like there is something stuck always at my chest... yes I too feel quality of life has gone down. Due to this I started working out everyday now.... for 1+ hr a day intensively doing Cardio and some weights.

What is unnusual for me is that the last hospital diagnosed me acute bronchitis and the other ones pneumonia,(the gap between the 2nd and the third hospital was 2 weeks, is this logical???). After that I was seeing the doctor regularly because wanted to make more blood tests, he ruled out lupus and those weird illnesses that you dont recognize easily,I was feeling better and have my next follow up appoinment in 2 months for an xray.

I also take steroids every other day, use advair 500 twice daily for my asthma and now take 2000mg of mucinex daily. Wonder why they cant make mucinex coated because it is nasty tasting. I will ask my dr. about the medicine you suggested to see if it might would help. Again, thanks for your post.

Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.

What is this about Mucinex and Robitussin? I have heard something about Robitussin, but paid absolutely no attention because it was several years ago. Could you explain it to me? I took yet ANOTHER Neg. test this morning....

You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin. Most times this wears off (the good news), but there are instances of long-term damage from this particular antibiotic (that's the bad news). Statistics are on your side.

Cant take anything in first.trimester and in sencond and third only tylenol products, benadryl, claritin. That is about it. Ia asked three docs and pharmacy a few weeks ago. I am super snotty. Always sneezing and blowing my nose. Apparently its common in pregnancy.

My doc just called me since im super sick and told me only mucinex d and Tylenol. Im 16 weeks.

ve come across several women who took Mucinex or Robitussin to help thin out their cervical mucus. I was wondering if anyone has really tried that and if so, was it successful? Please give as much details as possible so that I can get a better understanding of how that works with the process of TTC. Thank you!

Benedryl is best. Its a class b drug.

I recently read that someone is taking mucinex along with trying to get pregnant...does that work with conceiving?

Does Mucinex help thin your cervical mucus like the Robitussin is supposed to. Its active ingredient is guaifsen (sp?).

s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose. My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?

Many antibioitics cause reflux. Levaquin is a strong one and is known to cause problems. I would recommend that you take the Levaquin with dinner tonight (it is supposed to be taken with food) and then enjoy the evening with your husband so you can both monitor your symptoms. If you have the difficulty breathing again, you should go to an ER. Also, if you are an asthmatic, you probably just need to use your inhaler on a regular basis while you get over this infection.

Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.

I was on levaquin a couple years ago, it made me very sick to my stomach and gave me some joint pain. I didn't realize until after I took it that it can damage tendons and I read it can also cause hernias. I would never take it again. That's just my opinion, I would also ask for something else.

Well, that would depend on each person. I like mucinex to keep mucus flowing. It thins it. They also tell you to drink a lot of fluids as well to help keep mucus thin. the reason why that is important is because if it is thick, it's more likely to stick and clog and that's when it can fester and become a secondary bacterial infection (bronchitis, sinusitis). For a cough, I use Delsom which is an otc cough suppressant.
