Many antibioitics cause reflux. Levaquin is a strong one and is known to cause problems. I would recommend that you take the Levaquin with dinner tonight (it is supposed to be taken with food) and then enjoy the evening with your husband so you can both monitor your symptoms. If you have the difficulty breathing again, you should go to an ER. Also, if you are an asthmatic, you probably just need to use your inhaler on a regular basis while you get over this infection.

In that time frame I was having sex with my boyfriend and it started to feel really raw and painful. Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.

I have slight raised swelling around the opening of my penis that seems to flare up after oral and vaginal sex. I have recently been treated for epididymitis with Levaquin and had been on Doxycycline for acne for two months prior to this. I woke up one morning with looked like insect/mosquito bites on BOTH of my arms right above my wrists. Over the next few days it turned to a rash that spread up my arms to my elbows, stopped mid elbow, jumped up to my neck, and now i have the little bumps that come before this rash on my upper chest and mid inside thigh. I recently had unprotected sex and about 12 hours later developed urethral pain/itching and mucosal irritation(purple discoloration) I took Azithromycin 2G, and then Flagyl 2G. My symptoms persisted and I then took Doxycycline 100mg BID x 7 days, followed by Levaquin 400mg daily for 7 days. All this was due to persistent symptoms. s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose. My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.

I was on levaquin a couple years ago, it made me very sick to my stomach and gave me some joint pain. I didn't realize until after I took it that it can damage tendons and I read it can also cause hernias. I would never take it again. That's just my opinion, I would also ask for something else.

I went to the dr. today and was dx with a UTI. I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? While in the UK I came down with symptoms of frequent urination, burning, itching, and discharge. I immediately found a clinic, tested, and treated (Zithromax, 1 dose; and second, 4 doses but I do not recall name). The symptoms subsided after 2 weeks while back in the States and then cleared up. The typical symptoms of prostatitis are fever, pelvic, testicle, or rectal pain, frequent and painful urination and ejaculation and incomplete emptying of bladder. About a week later I had symptoms of irritation in my penis (it hurt too) - which worsened over time, then came the burning sensation and itching at the tip of the penis occassionaly. I went to a walk-in clinic (I thought it was a UTI) that's what I told the Dr.

If you have been taking levaquin, do not have a urine chlamydia test. Levaquin cures chlamydia and would make the test negative, even if you were infected recently. At this point, there is no point in having any more chlamydia testing at all.

I would trust the pharmacist. I have had levaquin and synthroid and it has been fine. They have website that you can search the reaction of medications with each other. Just google it. Good luck!

At this point I still had a bit of swelling in the testicle and spoke with my urologist and was prescribed another course of levaquin. ive taken it for 7 days now and see that i am still having the clear discharge and have some discomfort. also, i was also treated for a mycoplasma pnemonia infection about 3 weeks prior and was given clarithomycin for 10 days. i went to a new doctor, because I just moved out of state, and am waiting the results of a urinalysis.

I went back to doctor and went on another cycle of levaquin. The swelling still remained and the spot remained too, until I took a Q tip and wiped it away myself (lol gross, but it was bothering me). Ever since the second cycle of levaquin I have had the feeling of my throat swelling up, and a sensation of a lump whenever I swallow. I can swallow and breath fine, it just feels like tightness, like I am being choked.
