In about 2011 or so (i was like 17 I wanna say) I was perscribed Lamotrigine for bipolar disorder. Taking that medication seems to have been the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life. Or, the most coincidental occurance I've ever heard of. Just a week after tapering daily to the regular dose, I began to feel what I called "crippling anxiety". My doc hardly believed me when I said it and, get this, UPPED my dose of Lamotrigine.
After reviewing the medications I was already taking (to avoid any conflicts) she recommended Lamotrigine for my intense anxiety. I am VERY familiar with off-label drug uses, but I can find no information re: the use of this drug for my situation. It is a drug used for bi-polar disorder and seizures. I thought that Atavan would be the drug of choice, and after reading more about Lamotrigine, I have become actually quite shocked about this recommendation.
I have been suffering from major depression and chronic pain for over 10 years. I am currently taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg, Lamotrigine 25 mg, Zyrtec, Levothyroxine 75mg, and Atenolol 50mg.
I started Lamotrigine (lamictal generic) 2 weeks ago. On day 9, I developed severe diarrhea and cramps. It was slowed down with 1 pill of Immodium, but after 2 days I decided to eat a "regular" meal and got diarrhea again.
there is a drug called colanadine that can help with the WD symptoms. lots of hot baths ,OTC pain meds for aches or pains doctor may be willing to give u a muscle relaxer to help as well.Make sure any time you take a new med read the info from the pharmacist the paperwork in there states can happen and you should taper off to avoid some of the wd ..

Only a few interactions between lamotrigine and other drugs have been identified. Lamotrigine increases the plasma level of carbamazepine and its metabolites. Carbamazepine lowers the concentration of lamotrigine in the blood.
Lamotrigine (Lamictal) seems to be missing from your list. It is weight-neutral, but of course it, too, has a list of possible side effects. In my case, I really liked it as a mood stabilizer, but over time it caused pronounced hand tremors. The big one to watch out for is the risk of a severe and potentially dangerous rash. If Lamotrigine is ramped up very slowly, that risk is greatly diminished.

m about 6 weeks pregnant and recommended first, cold turkey for both the anxiety and hydro, but I know that is a HUGE trigger for seizures, so I asked for a medical taper.
Husband's family is kind of uninformed about medication and they don't believe in Epilepsy, so I never told them I was epileptic and they certainly don't know about the pain medication or Xanax.
I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. yes you certainly can. I have been on gabapentin 1800mg (for neuropathic pain) for 5 years now and Lamictal 150mg (lowered from 300mg originally)..for abt 18 months this I take for mood stabilizing.
I have noticed no side effects from either drug alone or combined, except possibly some short term memory problems that may or maynot be related to the lamictal.

On 7/30/2019 the brand of his lamotrigine was changed by the pharmacy from Zydus to Unichem. I asked the pharmacy if this would cause an issue and they stated they were the same. However, 21 days after starting this new brand he had a grandmal seizure in our car. We are grateful he is alive and was not injured.

I am from malaysia age 21 and was and am under various psyciatrict drugs. Many times I was misdiagnosed and was given the wrong medication for my pasyciatric condition. These are the list of medications I was on for the past 5 years

Overall, there are reports for and against Lamotrigine in pregnancy. The treatment has to be individualized for each patient.
You will need a regular monitoring of the fetal growth.
the medications I take lamotrigine, prazosin, naltrexone, Seroquel, zantac, pantroprazole, im taking zolfran for the nausea I vomited for the first time this morning everything upsets my tummy. some less some more. any help?

This report examines the clinical use of concurrent ECT and lamotrigine for acute bipolar depression and the transition to maintenance therapy.
Methods: Nine patients with acute bipolar depression were simultaneously treated with a course of ECT while titrating lamotrigine for maintenance therapy. I have tried lamotrigine 25mg once daily and so far it hasn't helped at all. I've been reading endless forums and can't seem to find anyone who has found a treatment that works for them, if anyone has found something that works please let me know, I'm desperate for answers.
I´ve been taking 200 mg of lamotrigine for a while -about 3 years. But. My swinging moods along the year have not really changed. My doctor insists in the 200 mg. doses. I´m esceptic. Conclusion: I´m about to drop lamotrigine and start all over again. I´m a natural optimistic. Thanks for answering.
