Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work,and how soon did it started working? Did anyone started feeling normal and had their old life back? Did anyone felt the itching, and how long it lasted? I am very worried, i need this med to be working for me soon because i going through very tough time in my relationship. If anyone know anything about it, pleaselet me know. It willbe veryhelpful.
I have been heavily depressed and had anxiety problems for 10 years. And the same time I´ve had severe muscle problems with lower/upper cross syndrome from extensive weightlifting that has shortened several muscles to the extreme. I´ve tried many SSRI, SNRI different antipsychotics during the years. The SSRI/SNRI that has helped raising the mood has also made the muscles cramps heavily. nothing I´ve tried has relaxed the muscle long term.
On oxy for pain and Doc want's to add Feleeril. Problem is there is debate if I have a type of epilepsy or other nerve disorder like MS.
My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite.
Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything.
I have been treated for tension headaches and migraines since 2009. I was diagnosed with JME when I was 13. I'm currently on 150 topamax and 500 lamictal for seizures. I have tried antimigraines, analgesics, muscle relaxants, nonsteroidal-anti-inflammatory and steroids, ssnri antidepressants and obviously acetaminophen and aspirin for headaches . I have one every single day but the severity of it varies. Within the past few days I have noticed slight shaking and weakness in my hands.
When I was on the 2mg dose, things seemed to be ok. When I went up to 5mg, I had tremendous leg pain and muscle stiffness. When I went down to 2mg again the leg problems went away. Then my doctor decided to switch me to Seroquel. I gradually increased my dosage up to 100 mg. At that point, my leg troubles began again. Unfortunately, they never ended. I got off the Seroquel and the leg pain persisted. It's bad in the morning. My right hamstring is always stiff.
was diagnosed as being bipolar. The prescription that he got was a generic form of Lamictal. I visited him today & saw the pill bottle, it says "41" but there were only 9 pills left in the container. The date was Dec. 19 - that's only been 7 days ago & it says to take "1 for the lst 7 days & then take 2 a day". I asked him why there were so few in the bottle & he said the pharmacy didn't have enough to fill the entire prescription.
After going down 25 mg the headaches were less frequent and now being down at 75mg the headache and neck pain are much less frequent. I still get those strange thoughts but I can't tell if they are less or more often. I'm scared to talk with anyone about them. The plan with the doctor is to get off and see what happens and possibly switch to depakote. any insights??

- I looked up lamictal and sure enough there it was. Your body starts having REALLY bad side effects when it detects an OVERDOSE. I called the doctor and sure enough - he gets on the phone with me - we talk. I would take the medicine and fine, then when it starts being absorbed all hell breaks loose. I stayed off the medicine for one day - went back on the next day at 300 mg.
I'm a 38 yr. old female 30 lbs overweight. 6 weeks ago I found lumps under skin of forearm - doctor said it's a lipoma. 2 weeks ago (over a period of 2 days) areas of both arms (wrist to shoulder) developed the fatty bumps, swelling, & areas feeling firm under the skin. s what you were speaking about. I was prescribed Neurontin at the same time as Lamictal and I believe I was told by my psychopharmocologist that one enhances the effect of the other. Obviously that would be something to speak to your psychiatrist about but they would be the ones to prescribe it regardless.
I did a little research on Lamictal. Some say that it can cause weight gain and some muscle problems. I take lexapro and it helped a lot for depression. Do your own research, but apparently you can take both together. I have taken Wellbutrin and my husband does for bipolar (him) and we did not gain wt. on it. It just did not work for me, so I switched to Lexapro. It helped me in less than a week. I have been on it for several years and actually lost wt. while on it.
These include muscle weakness, loss of bowel or bladder control, loss of sensation particularly in the pelvis, and severe and progressive pain. The workup for this would include clinical examination, MRI, and EMG/NCS. Twitching can be from stress/caffeine, benign fasciculation syndrome, neuropathy, ALS (typically with other features), abnormal metabolic values (such as with calcium or thyroid), etc.
I would recommend that you be seen by your primary physician regarding these symtpoms.
I have been on lamictal 100mg to 150mg, and I haven't noticed any facial hair growth, although I think my hair is thinning out. When I take a shower and put cream rinse in and work it thru, I have lots of hair coming out.
If they are used together, excessive drowsiness, slowed breathing, loss of muscle control, and even coma may result. In general, melatonin and valerian should not be taken at the same time. Individuals who take both should be aware that sleepiness may increase to an unsafe level. Those who experience problems may need to stop taking melatonin, valerian, or both.
