lamictal

Avatar f tn m wondering if my doctor could prescribe something to help with my overactive bladder so I could keep taking the Lexapro or if I should just take something else instead. Lexapro is good in ways because it produces fewer side effects than any other SSRI med that I've tried and I've tried many of them. What do you think?
Avatar f tn but i have suffered lately from some meds interactions side effects which i did not have any idea about, my pdoc was away. i searched the subject of meds interaction on line till i found a very good medical site www.ehealthme.com write your meds in the search button in the up middle of the home page and you will have so many links.
Avatar n tn I have taken Lamictal, 25mg for over a year with no side effects and positive results. I had a bad episode and several flashbacks a few months ago. My Doc wants me to go up to 200mg. I am taking 50mg for two weeks then go up. So far no side effects but I am worried, 200mg seems like a lot. Will it not make me a zombie, emotionally flat like ssris? Has anyone been up to 200mg before?
Avatar f tn all three of my kids are healthy and just as normal as any other children.i had a very healthy pregnancy and no side effects to any of my kids.doctors followed my case closely. just wanted to share my story we can have healthy babies and be healthy doing it.
1756969 tn?1332437163 I take lamotrigine - 200mg -- and it has worked well for me with no side effects. It is usually weight neutral meaning it doesn't affect your appetite. I have taken other mood stabilizers and didn't like the side effects - lithium, bad hand tremor, diarrhea, vomiting; depakote, hair loss, weight gain; seroquel, extreme sleepiness Do remember that this is my experience and yours may be different.
Avatar n tn Even though lamotrigine cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness etc., it is one of the best medications to control seizures in people with epilepsy. Read more http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/lamotrigine.
Avatar f tn Thank u for the insight! Much appreciated.
Avatar f tn i did just a read on side effects of Lamotrigine b/c my son recently started this med....and YES it can cause sore throats ....says to seek immediate medical attention. at least contact your dr asap....there can be some very life threatening s/e's from this med....good luck!!!
Avatar f tn My dad, for example, it taking only one fourth of the low dose of Lipitor and it is working great at bringing his LDL down to 79. Muscle pain is the side effect of statins, but in a smaller lower dose you may not have the pain and it still may work for you. You may also want to take a look at your diet. Red meat, for example, raises LDL levels. I lowered my LDL from approximately 130 to 79 by eliminating red meat for one year (it has now been 13 years since I had beef).
Avatar n tn I take it for nerve pain and complex migraines. Certain side effects have stayed: anything carbonated taste awful, tingling in hands and feet, small twitch in left eye for last week or so.
Avatar m tn Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
1149753 tn?1280478422 I take lithium, lamotrigine and a low dose of depakote. the main side effects are intermittent flat affect, permanent dazed feelings and detachment with dizziness. the other stuff is minor and tollerable. I am trying to take all meds twice a day to maintain steady levels. I stopped antidepressants nearly 2 months ago due to a 3-6 week interval rapid cycling that was worsening over the last year.
Avatar f tn Thank you very much for your help, I'll check out the website. And thank you also for your kind words! :) I don't know too much about mexiletine other than the recommended dose of 600 to 1,000mg, preferably the higher dose, for my pain. I'm only starting (currently 200mg,) so I have a way to go, but no side effects so far. I am very sensitive, and have tried all kinds of meds, with a lot of bad side effects, so I'm glad no probs so far.
Avatar m tn I'm currently on the combo. It's working alright for me. I still get frequent manic episodes and psychosis (I'm schizoaffective, but neither drug does anything for psychosis anyways) but I've only had one depressive episode in the last 5 years, and I'm a rapid cycler.I had about 10 depressive episodes in 2-3 years and they stopped completely when I started lamotrigine (well, apart from the one, but it was work related).
5544493 tn?1369608788 If the side effects look scary, go look up the full side effects profile for an OTC drug you use often (like ibuprofen), which will give you an idea of how scary the full side effects profiles sound.
Avatar m tn There are other meds out there such as Lyrica and Neurontin. They are nerve meds and not pain meds. They work directly on the nerve pain which is fibromyalgia. Mine is not as bad now since I stopped all pain meds except advil and tylenol. The pain is not so bad but the doctor said those are my options. Hope you can fine something that will help with your pain cause I know how the bad the pain can get,,,,,,good luck.
Avatar f tn In about 2011 or so (i was like 17 I wanna say) I was perscribed Lamotrigine for bipolar disorder. Taking that medication seems to have been the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life. Or, the most coincidental occurance I've ever heard of. Just a week after tapering daily to the regular dose, I began to feel what I called "crippling anxiety". My doc hardly believed me when I said it and, get this, UPPED my dose of Lamotrigine.
Avatar f tn It is a side effect of Depakote. It's a difficult drug with a lot of side effects that a lot of people find hard to stay one, especially those who are given it for things other than seizures. It does away if you stop taking it. I don't know what collagen would do for hair loss. You can try a multivitamin or a multi made especially for the hair, such as Ultra Hair by Nature's Plus, just for one. Biotin is especially useful for hair.
Avatar f tn ve stopped taking methimazole 12 days ago because of the strong side effects (hives, joint/muscle pain, dry throat). Though these effects are lessening, I wonder how long it might take for them to be completely gone.
Avatar f tn However, about 3 days ago I started having really bad muscle pain, burning, and aches in my legs. My muscles all over my body will twitch when I am trying to go to sleep. This is really the only w/d symptom I have but why did it just start? Or is this a side effect from the sub?
Avatar f tn I have done some research on these two medications mainly on there side effects. A decision will be made on this once I have been to have an EEG.
1756969 tn?1332437163 Remember that this is a community of consumers, not professionals. What you will find is that people who have had bad experiences with medications are more likely to write about it online. Also, no everyone has the same response to a medication. I happen to take Lamictal (Lamotrigine) which has not affected my weight and I don't have any side effects from it. Others may have different experiences. Listen to your doctor and try the medications he/she prescribes.
Avatar f tn Some treatments may produce long-term effects. For a detailed list please go through the link below.Herceptin side effects is also included. http://www.chemocare.com/managing/ I hope that this information will be of some help to you. Best wishes..
Avatar n tn Concurrent use of lamotrigine with ECT in bipolar depression seems safe, did not interfere with routine ECT practice, and allowed for transition to maintenance pharmacotherapy. (C) 2006 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.
