Avatar f tn I am a poor water drinker which contributes to the formation of most kidney stones. I suggest that you have your stones analysed if you have not done that. I was told by 2 urologists that there is nothing that I can take or do that will change my situation. Both urologist told me the same as what yours said, my chronic back pain was not related to kidney stones. They were correct and I was diagnosed with other issues that was the cause of most of my chronic low back pain.
Avatar f tn Incredibly, mutant, toxic nuclear painful and just plain HURT, A LOT, multiple kidney stones. Kidney stones can pass and poof - all gone. Then another - or a few others - can make their ugly journey into your ureter days or weeks later. This experience is not fun. I speak from experience. One little 5 mm just about made me grind the enamel off my teeth - but the lovely wretched staghorn model at a whopping 9+mm? And hooked and now on display in a window box?
Avatar n tn no AFIB since but plagued with PVCs ever since. Just had another 24 hr. holter, echo, etc., and all normal except showed 4,000+ PVCs - benign. So heart in good shape. I exercise daily, am 6'4" - 180 lbs., 52 yrs. old and am on Flecinade and a beta blocker. PVCs just seem to keep gradually getting worse(they're bad for a few weeks, not so bad for a few weeks, etc.) and now they're affecting my sleep and exercising (which really tees me off!).
1832268 tn?1326819610 It's about management -not cure. The ideal is to plateau out at the level of kidney function the dog has when first diagnosed. So of course, this is going to vary from dog to dog, and depending on what stage the disease is at when it is first discovered. It depends on how instructions are followed re. diet....it depends on the dog's general fitness. I have such a lot to learn myself about this. And my answer is probably not what you are looking for at all for your survey.
1963554 tn?1325451090 He said that his right kidney is destroyed and that his left kidney has about 25% left. He has a tumor within his bladder and his urine cannot pass thru which goes into his kidney and damages it. When we had Shaggy checked out in May our vet said that it's UTI...because I mentioned to him that he'd pee and then go to other spots and nothing comes out. So he was given anti-biotics. This went on for several months.
1916673 tn?1420236870 Sub-Qs will help bring the toxic levels down, and then it's a question of keeping them down with diet changes and supplements. You probably know, this won't cure the kidney disease ... but once stable, it may provide many months (very occasionally, even years) of additional time and an improved quality of life during that extra time.
2361255 tn?1339611918 Sadly, as you probably know, there is (currently) no cure for kidney disease ... but we can help our best friends become more comfortable in their last months, weeks and days. Try not to think about losing her just now, just enjoy each day as it comes. There is always heartache when we lose a dog from our lives, and sometimes the grieving is harder and more difficult than when we lose a human from our lives.

Avatar f tn She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus. I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones.

Avatar f tn Even though I have stones in both kidneys I rarely have pain in the left. However my right kidney seems to hurt whether or not I have any stones. The pain just seems to be constant and just never goes away, it just gets worse when I'm acutally passing a stone. I guess that seems to be the biggest issue for me right now, just controlling the pain in my right kidney. The stones are pretty small, usually around 2 to 3mm with the last one being around 4.
489228 tn?1291535054 I used think the stones moving in the kidney caused it but I don't have any stones now? Thanks for taking time to answer!
690241 tn?1227390813 ) I read her comment and saw what you posted and yes, I believe that is true about diet not being able to prevent stones; it can in the case of kidney stones but not when you have MSK I believe, as you said.
Avatar n tn I did have an EGD two years ago, that shown a thicked doudenum, and a mild hernia. That hasnt bothered me since I lost weight. I also deal with frequent kidney stones, and gout like attaks except its not uric acid, and they dont know what it is. ......... Anwway, ..., I just dont know what to do. 489228 tn?1291535054 They also blasted my 2 largers stones in my left kidney. I had NO STENT! He said he ususally only does one kidney at a time, however we had no insurance so he did both. He also warned us they usually when doing both he uses a stent however he was able to avoid if becuase there was not much bleeding. I have had little to no pain on the left and the right only more instense then before surgery for the first day or two!..
Avatar m tn I get a CT Scan every 6 months and have 4 stones in left kidney and 2 in right kidney. Please read my post about kidney stones (says something like Kidney Stone & this is my story) cause I need someone to talk too or someone that is or has gone through all this agony. You will understand if you go to my post. Thanks for listening/reading. I have been through several urologist & they just don't know.
Avatar f tn The magnesium is already balancing the acidity, so by adding alkaline water you are pushing the alkaline balance in the opposite direction - and this can lead to kidney stones, bladder stones, painful urination and it can damage the kidneys too. So, in short, I would stop using alkaline water straight away and switch to filtered water. The filtered water has (importantly) less sodium and chemicals but retains an appropriate source of essential minerals. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn One flush does not cure all. It may take several to be sure stones are out of liver. Go to www.curezone.com and read story after story about people who have done this. It is true. It works.
Avatar f tn which I understand, but it's hard not to get stressed about something that causes LOTS of pain EVERY DAY, and for which there is no cure. I do not have any stones that I know of, and have not had any ever (again, that I know of). I've had three yeast infections in the past year, one of which turned into thrush too. Has anyone else had this problem also? Nephro didn't think there was any connection.
Avatar n tn believe passing stones hurt, they just do not believe they hurt when they are just sitting in the kidney. We have so many stones in our kidneys, the docs. can't possibly keep track of each one. Showing a dr. the stones you have just passed might make them believe you need pain meds. Just a thought.
1113762 tn?1266119076 he explained my pain like and amputee and the phantom pain they have where the amputation had occurred. He put this into example of my kidneys and all the stones my kidney had made and passed. He said the nerves in my kidneys were damaged from the stones and they were having pain even without passing a stone. He then put me on neurontin for the "nerve pain" and referred me to the pain clinic. There are 2 different pain clinics.
Avatar n tn This is not listed in the index of any medical book I could find at the University library near my home. So I am still waiting to read your description of what your stones look like. What color are they, etc. I am very interested to hear about them.
Avatar f tn Anyway, I was feeling symptoms as usual yesterday after school. Getting home I could barely walk and had my boyfriend take me to Safeway to get AZO pills. I took AZO last night along with Ibuprofen and again this morning but I am still feeling pain. (The AZO hasn't kicked in yet) All I'm wondering is what it could be, or what I should do. I don't want to waster money on antibiotics that the docs tell me to take, then call me to stop because there was no infection.
