s supposed to stop your period if you leave it in continuously and switch out the ring either every 3 or 4 weeks. But everyone is different, it might not work for you. I was on the nuvaring for a month and a half and then I had my period. Right after a month I was so excited and then like 6 weeks in I got a period. I think some women have a very strong cycle and it's hard to stop it with hormonal birth control. It may take a few months or so as well.

The nuvaring although convenient can only be out a max of 4 hrs at any point and time during the 3 weeks it should be in to be effective.
I was told that it was not related to the Ring. Other than the UTI everything was fine and sex was a good as it had always been. 4 weeks later I had my first yeast infection also told that it was not related to the Ring. Following a week of treatment for the yeast infection I attempted to have sex and it was so painful that we had to stop. I was still feeling a bit itchy and figured that maybe the yeast infection had not totally cleared. We waited a week and tried again.
I was on nuvaring for 2 years. In for 21 days. Out for 7. Never ever ever had sex during the 7 out. New one in for 21 days. I was very careful. And then march I took it out and nothing happened. So to rule it out before calling the doctor I took a test. Sure enough I'm pregnant. So if I can get pregnant aftrr being so carefull I wouldnt rule it out for you. Wait about 2 weeks and test. Or call your doctor and ask for guidance. There is always plan b if you in the time frame for it to work.
This vaginal ring is supposed to "work" properly for 3 weeks in a row.
no sign of my period the ring off week, so I took high doses of vitamin C to start it. I bled really heavy for 5 days. In March I had a very light period for 3 days. And in April, it was so light it barely showed on a panty liner, only when I wiped or peed. When I was previously on NuvaRing, I always had heavy periods and when not on BC heavy as well. I have taken 8 tests- all which are negative including one last month.
Its unlikely you are more than 4 weeks pregnant if you had a negative test (and it was performed correctly).
Definitely call your doctor to find out what is causing your symptoms - they need to be investigated and there is no need to be embarrassed.
A "letdown" only happens after baby is born - it is not a pregnancy symptom.
also it is supposed to be fully effective after 7 days of continuous use in which it has not been out for more than 3 hours. if it is out for more than 7 days after the 3 weeks in, u need to abstain or use alternative protection such as spermicides(which do not counteract nuvaring in any way) until it has once again been in for 7 days continuously.
I have a question my first time using the nuvaring and I took it out that 2nd week so onJune 29 I took my nuvaring out and never put it back in had sex the next day and we had sex 3 times that day ... I never put my nuvaring back in so I started having a bad migraine and my stomach started cramping on July 3 and July 4 as of today I spotted blood a little ..
I have had these tiny bumps in my labia for several years. They are in the skin, hard, and white if i stretch the skin apart and almost like pinpoint balls. In the past few months I have had irregular periods and some spotting one month. Just recently the tiny bumps have spread to around my vulva. They've been there about a month and do not hurt. I also have some tiny pinpoint bumps in lines near my urethra and vagina.
Kind of unrelated, but I started the Nuvaring about three weeks ago.
I have been on the Nuvaring for 5 years. Everything has been normal until a couple weeks ago.
A few months ago I had a light period for 1 day, it stopped and 24 hours later started again. The next month I had a light 3 day period. This month I am late. I am suposed to put the ring in tonight but I havent started by period yet. I took a home pregnancy test todag and it was negative.
Can the Nuvaring stop periods even when I take it out for a week?
Also, I only have one ovary.
I put my first Nuva Ring in June 17 not coming from any other birth control pills... My friend told me to leave it in for 4 weeks and i wouldn't have a period....While i had the first Nuva Ring in me and my boyfriend had sex.... On July 15 I put my second one in.... I haven't had my period yet and i'm due soon for my next.... Might i be pregnant??
I had the same thing happen. I stopped using Nuva Ring in April 2012 and gained 12 pounds in 2 weeks. No amount of exercise and working out was helping. I had a follow up last week to get my thyroid levels checked (I have them checked every 6 months) My T3 level had almost bottomed out since my January appt. The doc said most of the weight gain was water weight and suggested a diuretic.
Hi there! I think that I might be pregnant, but I'm not quite sure.
I have been on the Nuvaring for the past couple of months and have not had any side effects. I always get my period within 3 days of taking the ring out and my period is completely normal ( I don't need anything more than a regular sized tampon to keep me covered).
