You have 2 days of (inactive) pills when you are supposed to start a period. So I bet you will have a spotting type period before your body gets used to the pill.
I also read that Kariva provides better pregnancy prevention with this type of BC, but you are right, it wont start until you have been taking it for at least 2 weeks.
You're on the right track using BC and condoms. Don't stop using condoms, there are a lot of STDs out there! I hope all continues to go well for you!

I am a 17 year old girl and I have been on birth control pills for a little over a year and a half now. I was originally prescribed Ortho-Tricyclen Lo but was switched to Kariva in May of this year because it was said to be the "less expensive generic brand" of Tricyclen Lo. I always felt a little more irritable and noticed my skin got a little more sensitive when I originally started taking the pill, but nothing too bad.
Okay I am wanting to start birth control not for the usual reason. I want to start it to lighten my periods and help my acne clear up. I've already talked to my mom about it and she supports me on it. I just don't know exactly which pill to look into. Anybody have suggestions? I'll of course do more research but I need some ideas. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.

I've been taking birth control pills for years. I've been on Kariva for about 2 years. I forgot my pill tuesday and wednesday... had sex with my fiance last night (thursday) and then realized I missed those two pills so took them and my usual pill for that night (3 pills total). I realize I probably should not have done this and today I feel bloated and almost nauseous and out of it.
i didnt know when to start packing at all so i did it when i felt the need to. haad it fully packed since about 35w i think. ive added some cereal bars as snacks for when im in labour as i have a fair appetite and know ill get hungry. but yeah there are a variety of lists on the internet if you search for them. get different ideas from different ones :-) and dont forget maternity pads and breastpads lol !
I want to know when is a good time to start buying things for the baby and start preparing his arrival? My first pregnancy ended in a still born around 20+weeks. So ever since then I always waited until the day of delivery to send my mom and husband shopping for my 2 daughters. Because medicine have evolved a lot and I'm extra excited to see blue clothes and baby beds up I just want to know should Istart ttoday?
s a good idea to start treatment when damage is relatively low instead of monitoring and starting treatment when damage gets worse?
If I am going to develop a tolerance (it's a maybe and over a long enough time it seems likely) why would I start the clock ticking now rather than when things are bad?
Or is it the kind of thing that can get up on you so fast that it's not worth the risk?
