Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cyst and i stopped my ocp 2 months ago. Last 2 periods were very dry with brown blood and lasted just 2 days...and this month's period started right after I had sex. By third day it was brown blood and it's very light but it won't stop. I think it's because of ocp and my last two period were very dry But I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn Hi- I am a 17 year old girl and I have been on birth control pills for a little over a year and a half now. I was originally prescribed Ortho-Tricyclen Lo but was switched to Kariva in May of this year because it was said to be the "less expensive generic brand" of Tricyclen Lo. I always felt a little more irritable and noticed my skin got a little more sensitive when I originally started taking the pill, but nothing too bad.
Avatar f tn Last Wednesday I got my period, and I began taking Kariva Birth Control. On friday, My boyfriend and I decided to have sex, which was dumb, but we used a condom with spermicide on it and in it. After a little bit, the condom popped and he pulled out immediately without ejaculating at all. Then we were finished. I know that people say that girls can get pregnant on their periods, however, i was only on the 3rd day of my cycle and i highly doubt that i could have ovulated so early...
1250698 tn?1371351279 if you are taking the the OCP like you are suppose to and have not been on any antibiotics then the chances of you being pregnant are slim and if you are just starting a new OCP then you can expect that your cycles and symptoms may be a little whacky to start with
Avatar n tn if you have been taking the OCP like you are suppose to on top of your boyfriend using condoms I don't think that you are pregnant you may just still be adjusting to the change in the birth control although they are both hormones they are still made differently so your cycles may be a little off until you get adjusted to the new OCP
Avatar f tn there could be a chance, or he is going deep inside of you and it's irritating the tissue.
Avatar n tn Did you tell your doc that you are a pregnant now?Pregnant women should not take OCP for migraine though it is caused by hormones.Symptoms such as auras and headache worsen if you continue to take OCP during pregnancy. As your age is very young to bear a child its better you could talk to a gynecologist about having a baby at this time(a very young age),with migraine. Its better you may take Imitrex injection or nasal spray as it seems to be very safe in classical migraine.
Avatar f tn So - changing or quitting you OCP is an option but probably something you would do if you were really desparate for help (unless you are really wanting to get off the OCP anyway.) Regarding the dwelle and dakinar drops from Dr .Holley - I've heard of them here and there but don't really see much difference from something like thera tears, refresh plus or systane. The preservative seems to not be as modern as some newer drops.
Avatar m tn I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I am also on the birth control pill Kariva. I was told that they would not interfere with each other, however something is not right and I was just wondering if anyone out there could help me out. I can't get back to the endocrinologist for another 4 months for my next test, so I did not want to stop the medication. Does anyone know how long it stays in your body...I was considering not taking it for a few weeks just to see if this cleared up.
Avatar f tn i know all birth controls are different, but they have a lot of similar side effects. i was on yasmin, seasonique, kariva, and now sprintec. the first two that i mentioned: i had my period for about a month. sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
11728532 tn?1451774466 Hi there, I'm an 18 y/o female and I have taken birth control ( Kariva -- to be specific) since I was 15 to treat PCOS. About a month ago, I had intercourse and afterwards I bled heavily and had cramps for a week. I should not have gotten my period for another two weeks according to my pills. When I took the pills that started my period, It was very light and ended two days early. We used a condom but I'm scared.
Avatar m tn m a 21 year old who just stopped the pill after 5 years of being on it consistently. In October I was switched from Azzurette to Kariva, just a generic brand switch. I hated it and decided to go natural and stop the pill all-together around November 13. I got my "withdrawal period" right after.
Avatar f tn Dear doctor. I don't know why I keep seeing all sort of weird things and no diagnosis beside glaucoma. I have been seeing a small blue dot flashing really quick (1 sec) randomly, no more than once a day. Sometimes the dot is white too. Anyways, just last week I had a picture taken of my eyes to check for Glaucoma. It's called OCP and the opthalmologist told me "there is something there" he said I am a glaucoma suspect.
Avatar f tn 10th or 11th ?? i am confused because i have to take ocp on 5th day of my periods.
Avatar n tn Yes, she has been seen at Emory. That is where she has been receiving her treatment. She was really looking to find additional expertise for a second opinion. She is willing to travel to the best in this field. Do you know who the top physicians are in managing this disease? Thanks!
Avatar f tn If the bloating is due to antibiotics, it will settle down. If not, change your OCP and see. If still you do not benefit, then other causes will need to be looked at. Other than IBS or spastic colon you could be suffering from Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/ Crohn’s disease, H pylori infection, diabetes, food intolerance, malabsorption syndromes, constipation, gallbladder and liver problems, pancreatic dysfunction, or taking a diet rich in sulfites.
Avatar f tn orthotrycyclinn made me have two cycles a month but every pill they gave me did that instead of makeing my periouds lighter it made me have more and heavier ones, plus i lost a lot of weight on birth control i was on kariva, low loesestrin fe, abri, orthottycyclin, and two other ones all of them did the same thing they helped witht he cramps but i had more cycles than i was suppposed to.
Avatar m tn But being late for your cycle could also be a side effect of coming off the OCP i do believe. From what I understand it could take a few months for you to get pregnant after coming off birth control. So if you are not pregnant this time don't get discouraged it will happen it just may take a little bit after taking the meds.
Avatar n tn i had my last pill from my 21days ocp last night then i had sex with my boyfriend in the morning and he ejaculated inside me. can i get pregnant?
Avatar f tn oh.. thanks.. but would starting on the ocp have hampered the action.of the i-pill?? and also... what are the chances im pregnant now??!!
