Avatar f tn Hi- I am a 17 year old girl and I have been on birth control pills for a little over a year and a half now. I was originally prescribed Ortho-Tricyclen Lo but was switched to Kariva in May of this year because it was said to be the "less expensive generic brand" of Tricyclen Lo. I always felt a little more irritable and noticed my skin got a little more sensitive when I originally started taking the pill, but nothing too bad.
Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Avatar f tn Last Wednesday I got my period, and I began taking Kariva Birth Control. On friday, My boyfriend and I decided to have sex, which was dumb, but we used a condom with spermicide on it and in it. After a little bit, the condom popped and he pulled out immediately without ejaculating at all. Then we were finished. I know that people say that girls can get pregnant on their periods, however, i was only on the 3rd day of my cycle and i highly doubt that i could have ovulated so early...
Avatar m tn I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.
Avatar n tn 10, 140 lbs, work out 3-4 times a week, eat right, have one child. I complained to the doctor about occasional fatigue, spells of dizziness, hair loss and my nails not growing. After 2 months on the medication I feel exactly the same way I felt before I started taking them which is pretty good for the most part. My numbers as of today are: T3 Intake - 25%; T4 Free - 1.3; TSH, 3rd Generation - 1.22, but T4 Total is still 12.6 which is above the norm. I also take Kariva as a birth control.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I am also on the birth control pill Kariva. I was told that they would not interfere with each other, however something is not right and I was just wondering if anyone out there could help me out. I can't get back to the endocrinologist for another 4 months for my next test, so I did not want to stop the medication. Does anyone know how long it stays in your body...I was considering not taking it for a few weeks just to see if this cleared up.
Avatar f tn i know all birth controls are different, but they have a lot of similar side effects. i was on yasmin, seasonique, kariva, and now sprintec. the first two that i mentioned: i had my period for about a month. sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
11728532 tn?1451774466 Hi there, I'm an 18 y/o female and I have taken birth control ( Kariva -- to be specific) since I was 15 to treat PCOS. About a month ago, I had intercourse and afterwards I bled heavily and had cramps for a week. I should not have gotten my period for another two weeks according to my pills. When I took the pills that started my period, It was very light and ended two days early. We used a condom but I'm scared.
Avatar m tn m a 21 year old who just stopped the pill after 5 years of being on it consistently. In October I was switched from Azzurette to Kariva, just a generic brand switch. I hated it and decided to go natural and stop the pill all-together around November 13. I got my "withdrawal period" right after.
Avatar f tn orthotrycyclinn made me have two cycles a month but every pill they gave me did that instead of makeing my periouds lighter it made me have more and heavier ones, plus i lost a lot of weight on birth control i was on kariva, low loesestrin fe, abri, orthottycyclin, and two other ones all of them did the same thing they helped witht he cramps but i had more cycles than i was suppposed to.
Avatar f tn I checked and the levoxly is not a generic and I do not take any other drugs (except Kariva at night). I would not know why my hair is falling out or what to ask the doctor to check. I am so worried that I will be the only bald one in my family.
Avatar m tn He said he could see lots of follicles in my right ovary, and what lookde like some scarring on the left. He did not elaborate further. He prescribed me Kariva and sent me home. One thing I want to note here is that after intrusive gynecological exams I always have pain and cramping. Don't know what's up with that. On Saturday I took my first dose of Kariva. A few hours later I started experiencing mild nausea and a terrible headache.
Avatar f tn ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
Avatar f tn In Aug 2007 I started taking Kariva 28 day and stayed on it until Aug 2009. A few months before this, I began having issues with my cycle. I wasn’t getting my period, I got my period early plus the full week I was supposed to, and then I was spotting several days a month. I then found out I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and started treatment hoping that would help. I didn't. I went on Portia 28 for 5 months, Junel 1.5 30 tab for 3 months and now I’m on Junel 1/20.
Avatar f tn The hemotologistt only sees u once a month and the rest of time u on you are on your own had this fatigue since beggining but he never seems to comment on it. He say goes with tretment. .Blood work was good last time go back Monday.
2069069 tn?1331564116 Yes, fatigue not at all unusual. Neither is irritability. Keep an eye on your hemoglobin because drug induced anemia (hemolytic anemia) is a common side effect of ribavirin/interferon. This is often the major cause of fatigue. There are drugs to address this side effect and it's best to intervene with rescue drugs before your hemoglobin gets too low. Discuss this with your medical team to learn how they approach anemia.
382218 tn?1341181487 The past few days my fatigue has been a lot more pronounced. It feels like a weight pushing down on me. I'm not otherwise ill and have had no changes in meds. I don't feel I'm having another relapse. Even worse than the sensation of heaviness is the feeling of being drunk, that sort of spaced out, off balance, unsteady feeling in my head and in my body. It's a really disconcerting feeling. I'm only somewhat physically comfortable when I'm lying down.
Avatar f tn That fatigue is no joke. For the nausea ginger ale helped me a lot, the only thing that helped with the fatigue was moving into the second trimester (so much better now). I got waaaay behind at work too, but I just told myself I was growing a baby and that was hard work...hopefully in a few weeks it will lighten for you too.
Avatar f tn Last week I had 2 days that I felt half way decent worked those no way I could work since.
10668519 tn?1414026208 ve felt this way my entire pregnancy (20w4d), my doc did a blood test for a different reason and we found out I am anemic. Hopefully the iron supplement will help. So if you haven't had blood work done, you should ask!
Avatar f tn By about my 9th or 10th week, I began to get really fatigued sleeping anywhere between 8 am to 9 pm. sometimes I also from 7:30 am to 10 pm! I'm currently 23 weeks along and I'm still having issues with this. I asked my doctor if this was normal and she said that it is because of my work schedule and my pregnancy. Does anyone have this problem? Does anyone have any advice as to how to feel well rested without all the extra hours of sleep?
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced extreme fatigue during their first trimester? I feel like I can't get enough sleep. I can sleep all day with no problem.
