Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Avatar f tn Hi- I am a 17 year old girl and I have been on birth control pills for a little over a year and a half now. I was originally prescribed Ortho-Tricyclen Lo but was switched to Kariva in May of this year because it was said to be the "less expensive generic brand" of Tricyclen Lo. I always felt a little more irritable and noticed my skin got a little more sensitive when I originally started taking the pill, but nothing too bad.
Avatar f tn Last Wednesday I got my period, and I began taking Kariva Birth Control. On friday, My boyfriend and I decided to have sex, which was dumb, but we used a condom with spermicide on it and in it. After a little bit, the condom popped and he pulled out immediately without ejaculating at all. Then we were finished. I know that people say that girls can get pregnant on their periods, however, i was only on the 3rd day of my cycle and i highly doubt that i could have ovulated so early...
Avatar m tn I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid. I know i took a lot of precautions but is it not actually a lot? Please let me know!
Avatar f tn I realize I probably should not have done this and today I feel bloated and almost nauseous and out of it. Anyway, on my pack it says to continue to take my pills and restart a pack Sunday (I'm a Sunday starter). Is this enough or should I take the 'morning after' pill also.
Avatar f tn i know all birth controls are different, but they have a lot of similar side effects. i was on yasmin, seasonique, kariva, and now sprintec. the first two that i mentioned: i had my period for about a month. sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I started taking thyroid hormone levothyroxine 50mcg (smallest dose) on March 15, almost a two months now. I noticed about 4 weeks after I started taking it that my acne was beginning to flare up. I had it under control for many months by that point, and I'm trying to figure out if the levothyroxine is the cause. My endocrinologist told me that my thyroid function was normal without the medication but I am taking it because I have nodules (the medication slows down their growth.
11728532 tn?1451774466 Hi there, I'm an 18 y/o female and I have taken birth control ( Kariva -- to be specific) since I was 15 to treat PCOS. About a month ago, I had intercourse and afterwards I bled heavily and had cramps for a week. I should not have gotten my period for another two weeks according to my pills. When I took the pills that started my period, It was very light and ended two days early. We used a condom but I'm scared.
Avatar m tn In October I was switched from Azzurette to Kariva, just a generic brand switch. I hated it and decided to go natural and stop the pill all-together around November 13. I got my "withdrawal period" right after. Meanwhile, the last time I had sex with my boyfriend was October 14, and on October 28 I got a very short light period, which I couldn't tell was a result of the generic switch or if it was implantation bleeding.
Avatar m tn In addition to the heavy periods and cramping I also experienced stabbing pain with sex, migraines, nausea, muscles aches and continual breast tenderness. My period would always follow this pattern, two days of intense bleeding, one day of no bleeding, and then one day of moderate bleeding. After I became sexually active in my twenties, I started using the Nuva ring with some success. I found that it did lessen the amount of pain I was in considerably.
Avatar f tn ll do a little more research into it and ask my mom, dermatologist, and doctor bout it and see if both docs say its okay for me. Thanks a lot though!
Avatar f tn I do take the medication same time every day without any thing else. I checked and the levoxly is not a generic and I do not take any other drugs (except Kariva at night). I would not know why my hair is falling out or what to ask the doctor to check. I am so worried that I will be the only bald one in my family.
Avatar f tn For the migraines try a powder magnesium citrate. It works wonders for me and I got the migraines before and during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Migraines are a mystery but they do cause all the symptoms you relate in your complaint. Sometimes bloodpressure medication can alleviate migraines. I would see a doctor and try bloodpressure meds. If that doesn't help alleviate some of your symptoms there are some new pain med's that are effective in treating migraines but if used daily could cause liver or kidney damage after a long period of time. Sometimes migraines are caused by dehydration.
1347993 tn?1276613509 I'm 21 and have had migraines since i was 8, but it seems that my migraines have been getting worse over the last few years. I have been having blackout spells, where i just blackout for 10 minutes and even sometimes up to an hour. I've done research on migraines but haven't been able to figure out if the blackouts are tied to my migraines or not.
Avatar n tn The migraines have not stopped since being off accutane and she now is chronically having migraines that wont go away. I am convinced that Accutane has caused this.
1705896 tn?1314811839 Hi, How are you? Migraines can indeed be triggered or associated with hormonal changes during menstruation, pregnancy and even intake of oral contraceptive pills. This can be managed with rest, ice packs, and prescription medications. Overuse of over-the-counter pain medications may lead to rebound headaches. It is best that you see your doctor for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn i seem to have mostly visual problems and some pain with my migraines.. my perception definately feels off and my eye gets really low on the right side of my head.. i was wondering .. does it make a difference in a dignoses with it being on one side of my head mostly?? and i seem to be so depressed ever since these symptoms started... i have been on all the antidepressents in the world..is it normal to have depression with migraines when they seem to be constant??
764912 tn?1322711843 Seasonal allergies really seem to contribute my migraines. Extreme heat can also trigger my migraines. Also, many summer activities such as mountain climbing/hiking or sitting/lying around in the sun for too long can trigger my migraines or make them worse. When it goes from heat to rain, that almost always triggers a migraine for me, and that can happen quite a bit around where I live.
Avatar f tn On my last admission to hospital I had a new nurse who has decided that I am not to no longer be using this drug for migraines and has made it very hard for me when i have a bad flare up.There are times with my headaches I am admitted to hospital as my right side loses all the feeling in it,and I recieve my pain control by injection until the feeling returns. This is the treatment plan by three neurologists, and I wonder what your out look on this would be.
Avatar f tn I am a 36 yo female with chronic migraines (nothing seems to help). After 2 ablation proceedures on my heart, I am waiting for a 3rd. I'm still going into afib and a flutter regularly. I have palpitations constantly. I have never heard of Raynauds but do complain about circulation in my hands and feet. I was seeing a chronic pain specialist for my migraines and she feels the my heart condition, problem with circulation in hands and feet, and migraines are linked.

Avatar f tn I'm 11 wks and 5days and I've been having frequent headaches and even migraines. I was in the emergency room because of a migraine, I was bearly coherent. Does anyone else ever get this bad?
Avatar f tn Hello I have had migraines and epilepsy from the age of 2. I find that I get migraines a week before my periods and the first few days. Stress, emotion and lack of sleep triggers migraines and seizures. Since I was put on keppra and tegretol 2003 I don't have so much seizures anymore. I also fell pregnant which I had less seizures and migraines. My girl has turned out fine. I could not ask any better because it took the depression away. I hope you get better.
Avatar f tn I have a bulging disk at C-3 and loss of curvature of my neck, and muscle spasms, these headaches all started after the last rear end collison that I had, had been in 2 before this time. Anyway, I have neck and shoulder pain almost on a daily basis, and notice that when my neck is bothering me I get the tingle in my jaw/face, and also in the upper part of my legs, no numbness. I have had 2 brain MRIs, and there is no lesions. Normal. My questions are....
337492 tn?1212458836 I have already been on the Lithium for a year and it is helping me. I found, per web searching, that some people get migraines from wellbutrin. Is that true? I am so hopeful because I used wellbutrin in my past and it was wonderful for me. I was at the denial stage of my illness and quit taking it, but now I understand I need my medication to live a normal life. I was also having terrible headaches then and I have them better under control due to my taking magnesium daily.
Avatar n tn Ask your doctor for Imitrex 100mg, is not narcotic, non addictive and it takes away your migraine right away. I'm also a migraine surferer and have tried a lot of medications and Imitrex works wonders.
