Hi all,
It seems that I'm not the norm when it comes to diabetes as I have problems gaining weight. I'm a 37 y/o male and weigh 145lbs. Besides working out, do you have any Idea how I can gain weight? All the foods that most people use to bulk up are what I'm supposed to avoid.

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.
t pay attention his weight and thought that weight loss is very good for him but it s something wrong with him. I read and research rapid weight loss from diabetic . What happen if he weight more loss. I can see him almost no muscles legs . He feels fine . I don't know if it's normal. He said my body start more saggy skin like old age. He need execrise and never eat diet and always lay couch watching tv three hours and sleep three hours nap .
I went on metformin 1g, no change after three months. went up to two grams and was so nauseus for weeks, changed to janumet 1g. My sugars are still up around 15 every day, and my hand still hasnt stopped twitching. I get it all over my body randomly, but always in my hand. It doesn't hurt but is irritating and my hand is sore from overworking.
My dr said this was a diabetes issue but I have never heard of it before among other sufferers, and he just brushes it away when I mention it.
yes i like sweets like alot of other people , but iahve to avoid them I am only making sugestions.Marrowville disgreed with me and he told yuo all the meds he wa son and now he is on insluin, perhaps that is why he is becuse eh chose to have is beverages. i dont mean to be didrespecrful to marrovile .But best thing ask his DR.
I take my bolld sugars of a morning fasting and they are like 167-191, I take 1000 mg of janumet and 18 units of lantus before bed, of a morning I take 20 Units of lantus, 45 mg actos why am I having problems regulating my blood sugars, I also take 7 units of novalog after every meal??? Do you have any other sugustions??
ve not really heard of it rejecting it per se, but I know that with type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance it basically doesn't know how to uptake it properly... so insense I guess that's what it does. There are medications that can help your body absorb it better after meals...
There are healthy ways to lose weight and that could be discussed in the specific forum but obtaining a nutrionist is best and Weight Watchers good as well but avoid weight loss products. Most are unhealthy or useless. And products with Nutrasweet should be avoided as well as that can worsen depression (as some studies show). Replace all sugared drinks with flavored seltzer water for starters. That worked for me.

ok this may seem a bit of a rant, but I am so frustrated!
I an 23 and was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago, i am on the pill, and was simply told by my doctor, exercise more and eat right (which is a bit suss as you'll see below), i can deal with the dieting, i can deal with the random periods and i can deal with the excess hair (my mums italian so it was kinda on the cards already)
but i cannot deal with the weight!
t have to count calories you eliminate the foods that cause the weight gain, the spikes in insulin which causes the weight gain and amazingly you will lose weight.. you will have more energy and it will become easier to exercise and you gain that energy.. I'm down 60 lbs and am loving eating this way.. it has cured a bunch of health problems and it has helped a bunch of people(including my parents) get to where they want to be with their weight.
