Avatar f tn Hello! Melatonin does not help me. Zaleplon helps to sleep, but it can not be taken for a long time, since it causes dependence. Diagnosis: chronic insomnia with anxiety disorder. I take escitalopram in the morning. Can Rozerem replace Zaleplon?
Avatar n tn The inert filler in the pills is no different from asbestos, and will eventually cause a fibrosis that is irreversible and result in death. You will develop a progressive short-ness-of breath and air hunger. The process will be inexorable and irreversible. There is no treatment. Not a good death either. A painful agonizing death where you will be unable to walk, to move, on oxygen and swollen up from steroids. It takes time for this to develop, but it is inevitable.
Avatar f tn Hello! Melatonin doesn't help me. Zaleplon helps to sleep, but it can not be taken for a long time, as it is addictive. The diagnosis of chronic insomnia with anxiety disorder. I'm taking ESCITALOPRAM. Now me helps 2 pills Belsomra on 20 mg plus 2 pills Donormila. But since Belsomra is expensive, can I replace it with Rozerem? Maybe one tablet of Rozerem will be enough for me?
Avatar f tn Olanzapine, (Zyprexa) is NOT a narcotic.
Avatar f tn Vicodin is a narcotic and addictive by it's self... I would be cautious about asking for additional pain medication... Lyrica is not a narcotic but may help reduce your pain... make it more manageable, and help the Vicodin to work better... Personally I hate Vicodin and avoid taking it except when I absolutely have to in order to function... its just too addictive for my liking.

Avatar f tn i have taken it for years off and on without a problem...it is non-narcotic nor is it a benzo..i have never developed a tolerence to it and i just fall asleep 20 minutes after i take it...but it can be abused and there are people who have an addiction to nyquil and benadryl too...be careful with any drug you use..even OTC drugs...
Avatar f tn t be confused by the term scheduled drugs. This is how the DEA classify different narcotic type medications or a better term might be the most addictive and abused medications. Formal Scheduling The Controlled Substances Act (CSA) places all substances which were in some manner regulated under existing federal law into one of five schedules. This placement is based upon the substance's medical use, potential for abuse, and safety or dependence liability.
Avatar f tn Doctors are hesitant to prescribe it as it is a narcotic, and therefore has the potential to be addictive. You might want to look for a neurologist who specializes in headaches.
778741 tn?1237641888 I can say for sure that yes tylenol with codeine is a narcotic. Whether its ok to take for legit pain is a matter of opinion. I took it for bronchitis and it lead to a relapse.. so if you are going to take it - be careful and keep it in check.
Avatar f tn I have recently been prescribed Darvacet, I am reluctant to begin taking it because I think it may be closely related to Hydrocodone although the ingrediant in Darvacet is totally different of that found in Lortab, etc. I am wondering if Darvacet is a weaker narcotic or a stronger narcotic? I have to be really really careful with these medications as I am prone to become addicted very quickly. I have searched Darvacet in web md and etc and found nothing much more than my insert contained.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum, 1. It is a process. You will get some good advice and support here but it is up to you to read some of the other posts so you can see what it is like to complete the beginning of this process but it is a lifelong battle. 2. Tapering off of psych meds is difficult too. Did he start you on anything else? 3. Anything worth having is not easy to obtain. I wouldn't advise trying to quit so many things at once.
Avatar f tn Isn't there a law that states a doctor who gives you narcotic pain meds for several years then discharges you, that he has to, at least, write you out a prescription for one month so you can find another doctor?
Avatar n tn I dont take more then the recommended dose which is 4 tablets a day. Panlor SS is acetaminophen, caffeine and dihydrocodeine. This may sound bad, but somehow I am out of my script 5 days early. My doctor wont renew my script till the 13th, and Im trying to figure out what im going to do for pain. Im scared to go thru a withdrawal period these next few days, but more so, the pain Im going to occur.
Avatar f tn I have to do this detox from home with minimal withdrawal because I have a family to take care of. Another thing is that this time around I can not let my husband find out due to him leaving me which is something I can not risk. I need some info on the best way to withdrawal from home and some reminding on what I will go through. The one thing that I remember from my previous detox is the extreme lack of energy I experienced. I can not experience that lack of energy for to long this time.
Avatar m tn Methadone is still a narcotic, and does nothing for pain, right? That sounds like the exact opposite of what I need?
Avatar f tn Some of the things you can do right now to relax yourself is to take hot baths, try and relax in your favorite chair---watch a movie. Be sure to stay hydrated and push food even if it is something small. Keep posting and talking with the members here and they will walk you through this. Hang on.
Avatar f tn There is a herb called kratom that is being studied to help narcotic addiction. Kratom has a slight opiate feel but isn't as strong as opium and the chemical make up is very different. Kratom withdrawal is way less severe, might help with narcotic withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn talk to your doctor. Be honest, express your concerns, but never feel embarrassed to tell the truth or ask for what you need. Remember, doctors are on our side. They don't want you to be in pain, they want to help. That's kinda what they signed up for, right...? If your doctor is concerned with the quantity or frequency of your use, they'll tell you.
Avatar f tn Narcotic bowel syndrome (NBS) is a subset of opioid bowel dysfunction that is characterized by chronic or frequently recurring abdominal pain that worsens with continued or escalating dosages of narcotics. This syndrome is underrecognized and may be becoming more prevalent. In the United States this may be the result of increases in using narcotics for chronic nonmalignant painful disorders, and the development of maladaptive therapeutic interactions around its use.
Avatar f tn s greatest wish is to move to a different country at least for a year or two (we are empty nesters) just for an experience. After reading your post I explained your situation to him, knowing there's NO way I could ever go. I just do not understand how a doctor could let you sit in pain and not help you. I know you said that the pharmacist is the go between, but can you buy anything not through a pharmacist? Tylenol, Ibuprofen that type of thing?
Avatar n tn What dose did your dr give you of norco? 5/325, 7.5/325, 10/325? Norco is a different name brand of lortab with the same narcotic in it as lortab & vicodin which is hydrocodone. Norco has LESS tylenol in it....which is where the 325 comes in. Usually when you get your lortab it probably says hyrdocodone 10/500...so he is just reducing the amt of tylenol b/c it is hard on your liver. Hope that helped you some!
1831932 tn?1318014686 A lot of people say Tramadol is helpful. It is not considered a narcotic, though it acts like one on pain. (That was how my old doctor described it to me.) It made me very light-headed and tired so I got off it after a month. (I tend to be sensitive to medications and their side effects.) Although it's not narcotic and a lot of doctors will say it's not addictive, it seems as though it is addictive.
Avatar f tn I became addicted to Xanax when I was 14 years old. At the age of 21, with the help of my friendly local district attorney I got clean. Upon completion of drug court I joined the military and served a tour in Iraq. While there I was helping unload a C-130 and fell off, cracking my spine and messing up some discs. At first the pain was bearable, but after a year my back would "go out" and I could not even walk standing upright.
