Is the hormone patch safe

Common Questions and Answers about Is the hormone patch safe

hormone

Avatar n tn I advise that you read up on bio-identical hormones, they come in may forms such as creames, mist sprays, pills, I personally found the patch to be the best method for me, very easy to use, and I think ( just my opinion) that the patch deliveres the most acurate does, ( except pills) Ive never been convinced mists or creams could be dosed properly. Yes deffinatley make an appointment with your Dr.
Avatar f tn Could you tell me if eating soy would interfere with the estrogen patch I take? I am on the vivelle patch .1mg and was wondering if eating edamames would help. Can the phytoestrogens be taken with the estrogen patch? Thank you so much for your help!
Avatar f tn My tumor was staged as 1c in the end as it had ruptured prior to surgery. It had grown to football sized because it was undiagnosed and masked by the fact I was pregnant. Same as you I had no implants, invasion and washings were clear. still frightens me that they drained 2 litres of fluid/mucus from my abdomen that has all been sloshing around inside of me! I started on a patch called elleste 40 micrograms but it wasn't enough.
Avatar f tn Dear Amy good question personally I am in favor of estrogen replacement , especially at your age.
718868 tn?1230730029 I must say that premarin is one of the older, not so good hormone replacement products available. There are so many new and safer bioidentical hormones on the market like the vivelle. I would go back to my doc, get your hormone levels checked and demand to be put on one of the safer replacements. i don't mean to sound rude, but premarin is not a great replacement. It is made from the urine of pregnant mares (horses). They have different make ups than us humans.
178345 tn?1242536246 Girls - I know I should maybe post this elsewhere but since you guys are my friends and know so much I was just wondering if anyone here that is on the vivelle-dot patch have any side effects from it..for 2 days I have this drawing pain in my upper thigh...it is more of a nuisance than a real terrible pain...I always worry about blood clots..I took my patch off just in case for a few hours but had to put it on due to the hot flashes ...I am hoping this is nothing but I am worried..
Avatar m tn Get the advice of a good doctor. Either an ob-gyn or a reproductive endocrinologist will know the answers to your questions.
Avatar f tn s own estrogen and the patch may be giving you too much. Or the fluctuations of the patch may be the cause of your headaches. The problem is that every woman who has hormonally triggered headaches is different and what works for one may or may not work for another. So it is a matter of trial and error to find what works best. I also had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy. I haven't had headaches but have had a whole list of other problems.
Avatar f tn Do NOT use anyone elses prescriptions without your doctors consent. Your office should have an after hours doctor to talk to.
Avatar n tn s a whole other story. The reason I say that is because your body is releasing a hormone called Relaxin which loosens your muscles and joints in preparation for labor. So you need to be really careful that you don't hyperextend your knees or elbows or pull muscles by moving wrong.
Avatar f tn I had a total hysterectomy 7 weeks ago and I was very worried about the hormone issue, too. My doctor takes the 'start with small doses first' approach and goes from there. I've been using the bio-identical estrogen patch, .25mg and it's been very good for me. I have a few night sweats but nothing horrible. I have to say that I feel really good. In fact, I have felt more 'myself' this last week than I have in the past year and a half.
1399033 tn?1449587779 I was on the pill for 5 years.. as soon as I came off it I got pregnant within 2 Months.
Avatar f tn Can anyone explain to me why it takes so long for the fentenyl to hit you after you have been out in the sun. Everyone is having trouble beliveing me about the patch giving me 2 much medicine at once because I dident realize it was happening till the next day and I was driving and wrecked my truck. I hit a pole so everyone is Ok but now no one trusts me to drive?? Is this just one more thing that will be taken away because of the pain?? Help!

405614 tn?1329144114 s the extra estrogen that confers some relief from MS)...and my own experience is that during the withdrawal phase from the Pill (I'm on Loestrin, only have placebo pills for four days), my symptoms are at their worst.
Avatar f tn I am estralis 50/250 half patch. Thanks for your response. I was told the bio identical hormone progesterone has not provided the protection for uterus.
Avatar f tn They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you? Did it mean you weren't pregnant? I am being paranoid or should I prepare myself for the worst? I have had IUI twice and this is my first IVF.
498385 tn?1362449404 Well this is the day . Am going on the patch again. I can't believe I had 4 months non smoking and now here I am again lol Well I guess 2 weeks of smoking is really nothing so having my last smoke before the dentist and have the patch in my purse.. Wow is smoking ever expensive ...
Avatar f tn m sure if you have a good doctor the dosage is safe and prescribed to fit your needs. As a nurse we mostly know the dosage limitations and I'm sure your doctor knows what's good to take hopefully from their dosage calculations. The number sounds big but it's actually small for milligrams depending on onset and peak times. Stay positive! Praying for your healthy happy baby.
