Common Questions and Answers about Is generic zyrtec just as good

zyrtec

Avatar f tn Clartin, zyrtec and benadryl are fine. I would also recommend using a neti pot. It takes a couple of tries to get use to but it does help.
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
689528 tn?1364135841 10mg every day for the first five days and then every other day for the next five, in addition he gets a generic Zyrtec everyday. Now he just gets a zyrtec every day, and if his allergies act up beyond the zyrtec's control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves!
Avatar n tn Loratadine is considered a placebo by many doctors (and many patients that I have talked to). Zyrtec and Allegra are good choices. Since Allegra just came OTC, it will be much more expensive the Zyrtec generic. I take Zyrtec. Take care and feel better. God bless.
Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar m tn My 5 year old has been picking her scabs on and off for a year now. She seems to have seasonal allergies also. I have noticed when she is on generic Zyrtec for the allergies she doesn't pick as much or stops all together. Then after a meeting with her teacher it was brought to my attention that when she is picking a lot her school work suffers.
Avatar m tn You can get both Zyrtec and Claritin over the counter, and both come in a generic form (I take the generic form of Zyrtec). This helped my allergies tremendously, I would recommend taking one daily while your symptoms are in full-force, and then backing off to just whenever it's needed when your symptoms settle down. If you ever know of a time when your allergies would bother you a great deal (like if you were going to have to do a major spring-cleaning, or doing a lot of dusting,...etc.
Avatar n tn Its the environment and food additives that people are reacting to. It is best to eat as whole food diet as you can. Less ingredients the better. A small tsp of apple cider Vinegar sometimes helps the throat. Or eat a pickle without "natural flavorings". Vinegar helps neutralize and brings down swelling. Even Walmart has been injecting their meat with hydolyded proteins that I will itch with. So even whole food ingredients now have to be checked.
4178478 tn?1350667364 If you have an allergist call and all them. I believe you can take ceterizine it is the generic of zyrtec i believe and it's class b. Or over the counter chlortrymeton(spelling) id what my OB suggested for my allergies when they were driving me nuts.
1274661 tn?1301868321 Thanks, Selma. I do take the zyrtec at night, but I guess it is not enough. Last time I was at the doctor he told me to take claritin-D in the morning and zyrtec at night. I really didn't want to try the claritin-D because it is a decongestant and they make me feel crazy and just seem to drain everything into my chest. Maybe I can ask about taking regular claritin in the morning and zyrtec at night. May I ask what you are and were taking?
Avatar f tn I have my appointment next monday but i dont know if i can wait that long to ask what i can take for them. Is there anything at all i can use for nasal allergies? I feel like im dying from these sneeze attacks ive been having.

I have frequent urination, extreme thirst, & bloating. I seem to be exhausted 90% of the time. I also have lots of varicose veins in both my legs.
Avatar f tn I too believe I am addicted to zyrtec or the generic anyway. The problem is that it's the only med. that helps keep sinus infections away! Plus, I am allergic to all types of fruit, but while taking my daily dose of zyrtec I can eat fruit again. I develop a horrible itch all over my body if I don't take it and it can start patches of a rash too. I've been taking it for a little over a year now.
Avatar f tn t care what my Doctor said or any other Doctor. Generic Effexor is not the same. I was switched to Generic and now I am having the same side effects as when I tried to go off Effexor. The Brain Shocks and Nausea are terrible.
Avatar f tn I was currently on clyndomisin for a tooth infection as well. Sometimes over the counter Zyrtec generic for allergies. Other than that I have no idea where these results came from. The doctor uses a in home lab called "infinity lab" so I refused to take these results when I have never used such medication in my life. I made her send the next to lab foto. I'm curious if anyone knows why this could have happened..: and what caused it?!
1139187 tn?1355706647 I ended up having turbinate reduction surgery and again starting taking Zyrtec (generic) at night so as to avoid daytime fatigue and flonase steroidal nasal spray(generic). At that same time I also began post meno bleeding and had a D&C which showed no cancer.
Avatar f tn If you can take allergy shots and clear up the allergies well before getting pregnant, I certainly would do it. It will help you for the rest of your life. Zyrtec is expensive!! lol Talk to your ob-gyn to know of any safety windows regarding allergy shots and pregnancy, and especially find out if the meds you take for your allergies are dangerous to the embryo and fetus if you do get pregnant. Very important. Good luck!
10843549 tn?1425096623 So you should be fine taking one tonight. Just keep drinking lots of fluids. But like I said, that is not coming from a doctor, just what I read.

Avatar f tn I take zyrtec (generic) but my best friend is saline spray ...over the counter!!
2022859 tn?1342283129 I bugged my midwife incessantly and she precribed me a generic allergy medicine (its the same as claritin) she also gave me a nasal spray because i was complaining so much lol. Thankfully my allergies have died down but when they get really bad i take my allergy medicine. So just ask your doctor or midwife if they'll prescribe you an allergy medicine or if they'll aprove an over the counter medicine that you can take.
Avatar m tn Do you have any other known allergies, or health issues?
Avatar f tn m not completely free, but feel much much better. Try it. CETIRIZINE is the same as ZYRTEC, but less expensive if a Dr. prescribed it . Good luck. Write later at ***@**** and tell me if it works for you.
