People get superficial wounds all the time and they typically do not get infected. A scratch is really nothing to worry about. A cut that is infected would turn red around it, sometimes have pus as well. I'm sure you have had many cuts over the last 24 years and they have all turned into nothing. Don't worry about this.
Can HIV be transmitted if semen got underneath a fingernail? In otherwords, is the tissue underneath the fingernail vulnerable to passing HIV into the blood stream?

ve had this happen to me more than once) Any serious crunching to the nail on your finger will cause this to happen - the bruising underneath the nail is what causes it to fall off, and the bump in the middle of where the nail used to be is actually the new fingernail growing back.

No apparent necrosis, but the fingernail has separated and also *appears* to be infected with fungus. She has had IV antibiotics twice as well as antibiotic and antifungal pills, and it was non-responsive to the drugs. Tested negative for MRSA. Finger hurts and is pinkish-red. It is dry with no discharge.

I felt hurt that time but i ignored that pain.The pain is not so very painful thats why i ignored it. I am thinking that it can be a syringe that hit my finger near my fingernail...

Cut off the loose nail portion close to the skin without cutting into the skin. A pair of fingernail nippers or fingernail scissors work best. Then brush on pure tea tree oil a couple of times a day.

I accidently touched it with my wound. My wound was a injury isnide my fingernail and the blood did not touch inside of it. This student to me looks like he has HIV. He does poor in school and always look sleepy. He does not attend any school services such as going to the nurse, etc. About 1 month after touching his blood I got a fever.
