Inderal la half life

Common Questions and Answers about Inderal la half life

inderal

Avatar f tn On January 18, 2011, my doctor put me on Inderal LA 60 mg because a stupid doctor upped my thyroid medicine too much and my heart rate and BP went off the chart. I have not taken any thyroid hormone since January 18th. While the Inderal has helped lower the BP and heart rate, I am having significant side effects from it and just wondered if others had experienced the same thing. I am quite fatigued but the most disturbing thing is I'm having very vivid and scary dreams.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply.....I agree the hardest part is taking propafenone 3x's aday. Dr.had me stop the Propafenone( I don't really know why) and go on 80 mg.of Inderal LA....wow....I went to pieces as far as my AF....stayed on the propafenone for 7 days....got worse everyday. With Drs' ok I went back to propafenone 325 x 3 and Inderal 10mg x 2 aday...maybe they will formulate a LA form of propafenone soon.
Avatar n tn t aggravate tremors and so your feeling of increased head shaking cannot be attributed to Inderal. For a person with an essential tremor, the starting dose of Inderal is 40 mg twice a day. Based on the tremor response and/or Inderal side effects, your healthcare provider may increase or decrease the Inderal dosage. Hence, the dose you are taking is suboptimum and may not be of any benefit in your tremor.
Avatar n tn i have been taking these capsules called inderal la for my depression and anxiety and they are not helping at all with my condition and i wanted to know if anybody else was taking the same medication and if it has helped them.
Avatar n tn They have been using different meds to try to help with the headaches and now she is on Inderal LA 80 once a day. It helps some but what do we need to do? Do we need to go through with the TEE or what?
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
194555 tn?1264286923 What time of the day is the best time to take the inderal? What is the short life? (like diazipam, has a life of 24 hrs in your system, if i took 2mg today i will have 1mg in me tommorrow etc)... Am just so worried of the affects the inderal will have on me.. I will defo cut it in half, and defo take it, but at what time... ? And how long does the affects last for?
Avatar f tn Hi I have many different heart arrhythmias and I take Inderal la 60 , my heart rate is most of the time in the 50's I am having a Colonoscopy and my Dr. wants me to do Magnesium-Dulcolax prep . I feel that it would be dangerous to take it since that would probably increase my slow heart rate. What is a safe prep for people with heart condition like that?
967168 tn?1477584489 I can't believe it but it's been a full week and I feel alot better, still some swelling, but it may take awhile to fully go away - I can live with that. We were in a minor car accident on Friday and I got upset and bam-o pvc's started and haven't stopped - so I took Inderal when we came home and it helped. My question is about is Inderal - I thought it was for migraines? how long typically does it work or last? My bottle says take as needed...
Avatar f tn You are right that stopping the Inderal quickly could be very dangerous. But, you will not have withdrawal symptoms due to Inderal. Inderal is a Beta Blocker. It is a blood pressure medication. The reason why it is important to not stop taking it right away is because of how it effects your blood pressure and your pulse. If you were to stop taking it right away, your blood pressure and/or heart beat/pulse could change dramatically very quickly and that could be life-threatening.
957923 tn?1246732553 I take Inderal LA 120mg 1x a day and I also take bcp (Yasmin) and Metformin 500mg 2x for weight loss. My doctor knew I was on Inderal LA and said it was fine. Talk to your doctor about getting on Metformin. It works great and with that I've lost 60 + lbs with it. I have all the symptoms that you have too, except I don't have high blood pressure. I wouldn't consider the lap band surgery (only as a last resort).
Avatar n tn i took citlopram and felt suicidal and my doctor stoped those and gave me half inderal la capsules. but these capsules are not working at all and my health is getting worse.
Avatar n tn I'm a 44yo Female who has been on Inderal LA 60mg for 20 years. I have recently starting having what I suspect is cold-induced asthma. At other times I also seem to have a dry cough, feel irritated in my trachea, have a raspy voice and have to clear my throat a lot. I don't notice any wheezing although I do think my deep breathing sounds different, more congested, hard to explain.
Avatar f tn I've decided I need to expand my horizons by joining in on the "lighter' side of things- It can't be heavy all of the time;-) Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah. . .
Avatar f tn I used to be on Inderal (80mg LA and 20mg for breakthrough episodes) and after awhile it seemed to lose its effectiveness. I also took Xanax, but only rarely and it helped with the anxiety. At one point, I was put on a daily dose of Xanax and within a couple weeks, I realized I had to increase the dose and/or frequency to maintain the effect. I stopped taking it daily, and for the past 10 years, I have only taken it on rare occasions...
Avatar f tn I also suffer from migraines (not period related) but you may need something along the line of Imitrex to ease the pain away and something like Inderal LA to control how many migraines you get. I've been on Inderal LA for over 5 years now and been a suffer since I was 15. As far as your gyn issues, you need a doctor. They need to run tests on you to confirm what you are dealing with. I know how you feel on finding a doctor, I had allot of issues with finding the right doctor.
Avatar f tn The half-life of a drug is how long it takes for half of it to be eliminated from the bloodstream. Hope that helps.
6298176 tn?1380134459 It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.
Avatar m tn Dr. Chahine......I, too, have been diagnosed w/essential tremors. I have taken Inderal 60 LA for several years and it does help, but the tremors have gotten more intense over the years. (I am a 70 yr old female). I have tried to take mysoline and it knocked me out, so no more of that. Would increasing the dosage of Inderal help?
485004 tn?1269199928 i am so scared to take that dang acebutolol!!!! hopefully i will soon ....im on inderal la 120 a day i dunno why he wants me to switch any how thanks for all your stories i am so hopeful now because of you all!!!!
Avatar f tn I take inderal as well. I started on half the dose just to see what would happen. (10 mgs) in the morning. 6 hours later i was able to take another 10 mg. I got excellent relief. I now take 20 mg freely in the morning. If i feel hyper in the evening, i will take 10-20 according to my symptoms. My BP did drop, but i was borderline hyper anyway, so now i am in good range. check your BP just to be safe. I was told a dose of 80-120mg is what is used for hypertension.
Avatar f tn After several tests to rule out any serious heart cond., I was put on Inderal, which worked wonderful for 30 years. Did not feel them any longer. Now, at 62, Inderal no longer being made, and I was put on Propanolol, (Inderal generic), does not seem to work as well. (Sometimes several PVCs slip thru). All my tests show PVCs and Palps benign. Still makes me uncomfortable. Can Menopause exaggerate PVCs, or after 30 years, is my body just rejecting (Propanolol)(Inderal).
194555 tn?1264286923 I am seeing my gp again on monday as he keeping an eye on me, So do i take the other half later on? Or leave it and just carry on half tablet a day for a week then next week go up... ? I did tell my doc that i will end up cutting them in half, he still insisted i take 40mg (looking in his book, as he is only a trainee), .. Pharmacist said it was ok to half them, many people do this he said..
Avatar f tn My GP prescribed Inderal LA 60 mg, which I took for two days and then stopped b/c I felt very lethargic. The cardiologist wants to wait until after the holter test to give me anything b/c he doesn't want to suppress the "events" as he calls them. Obviously I can't wait to suppress the events! So at least I know if anything gets really bad I have the Inderal temporarily.
Avatar n tn I too suffer from them for the past 8 years and currently take Inderal LA 120mg once a day. It prevents the migraines, although sometimes my sinus headaches can trigger a migraine but its a rare thing. I know for me, stress triggers most of my migraines. Talk to your doctor. Im only being treated by my GP.
Avatar f tn Told by primary that I will have to go on ACE inhibitor because this means my heart is not slowing between beats. By the way, I have been on 120 mgs a day of Inderal LA for severe migraines, throwing PVC and palpitaitions for 18 years -- fabulous medication. Question: Since my BP - diastolic is never (except one recent time after bites) above 80 and usually 60 to 74, this could be a false reading if the bites were in fact Lymes disease or not relationship?
967168 tn?1477584489 I went from 1 - 60 mg Inderal ER capsule daily to twice daily which worked really well for pvc's/vt but didn't lower my bp enough. My dr decided to switch me to 120mg once daily; which has lowered my bp back down. I've noticed quite alot of symptoms such as chest pains, my heart in the place where it used to "ache" and hurt before ablation hurts alot during the day (underneath bottom inside) and if I lay on my left side I can feel my heart pumping harder.
Avatar n tn This could simply be side effects from the meds you are taking, the breathing and sleeping problems are listed as possible side effects from your Inderal, I don't know what PARI10 is or what kind of sleeping pill you are taking. You might should go in for a sleep study to check for sleep apnea or ither abnormal breathing patterns or difficulties like your sinuses beings blocked, deviated septum, or just allergy related swelling in your nose.
