Are you currently on any medication like imatinib? The neutropenia can be due to your current medication. You can ask your hematologist for G-CSF injection if you have persistent neutropenia. Patients with CML are immunocompromised and can easily acquire infections. Neutropenia also puts a patient in an immunocompromised state. I went to an EarNoseThroat doctor who took an X-ray which confirmed mucous in the maxillary sinus. He prescribed FACTIVE gemifloxacin-mesylate 320mg tablets which I took one per day for 5 days. I didn´t notice any impovement. I suspected the tooth with the root canal was still the cause of the problem because it also fractured vertically into the gum. Finally I had this tooth extracted hoping it would solve the sinus problem.

Does anyone know if it is ok to release the medicine out of capsules and mix the medicine up in juice? I have a problem swallowing pills and was not sure if this was an option????
