Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen gel any good

ibuprofen

Avatar f tn I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!
Avatar n tn I have a lot of back / spine issues. I take some pretty heavy medication, but as far as OTC meds go, I find Liquid Gel Advil helps me the most. A couple of things to keep in mind: Ibuprofen can damage your kidneys and acetaminophen (Tylenol) can damage your liver. Prescription meds like hydrocodone have acetaminophen in them. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Hey, I haven't been reading or posting for a few weeks. But I'm still clean from the pain meds. 100 days today off of Norco and 177 days free from methadone. My knees are better since I started walking at least three days a week. But the neck still hurts even with PT three days a week. I don't see any end to it. I don't want to go have a MRI because I'm afraid of what they will say.
Avatar n tn Do you have any neck problem history? If so,see orthopaedic doctor to get diagnosis, then alternative medicine can help.Don't worry!
Avatar f tn whenever i carry any small weight like 2 or 3 kg i feel pressure and pain in sternum..Only ibuprofen gel (muscuskeleton pain relief) give me temporary relief.Sleeping at straight position also give relief from pain but i feel pain if i turn on sides.I cant wear tight cloth at the end of sternum.it increases pain.
Avatar n tn Hello, It looks like urethritis or inflammation of the urethra due to alcohol based gel. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful.
Avatar f tn Get some aloe vera gel for the burn/blisters (pure aloe is best.) Also Tylenol or ibuprofen will help the pain a bit. Drink plenty of fluids. Orange juice is a good choice. I had a very bad burn once that caused me to be in the ER. They gave me IV fluids and told me about the ibuprofen and fluids. They specifically mentioned orange juice ... maybe for the potassium. Also, I'm sure you're already aware, but tanning isn't a good thing to do.

1142707 tn?1261135528 Monday i started having severe pain in my pain arms and legs some of my joints and i felt cramped all the time.So i bought the ibuprofen gel for pain and it did not work. The day after i started having chest pains and i could not breathe properly. Avatar f tn Those hurt. You can apply some ice to the area which will help reduce swelling. And then you treat it like any other burn. Aloe vera works well-- they make a gel form. You could try otc hydrocortisone too. I'd consider covering it if it is oozing. As it heals you will want to be good about keeping it out of the sun. And you can take ibuprofen for pain. How long it takes to heal is really dependent on how bad the burns are. If they are bad, I really recommend you see a doctor.
Avatar n tn Get some physiotherapy,it will help in cure.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen and such tends to give me stomach pain and I've been On ibuprofen for years. Heat helps but just for the 30 sex or so the heat is applied. Other than that nothing.
Avatar m tn Good day! I have been experiencing tennis elbow (tendonitis) in my right elbow for the last 6 months. It's due to weight training and heavy lifting. I've cut back on the weight but still have soreness (though not as bad.) I've tried ice a few times each day, a brace when I exercise and Advil yet I still have it. My health insurance plan at work ***** and I don't want to go see a doctor as I don't have the money. Any suggestions? Thanx!!!
486038 tn?1300063367 I can't think of any OTC drugs that might help except for ibuprofen but I'm not sure if that would do the trick. Watch out taking ibuprofen especially if you have stomach issues (ulcers, heartburn, gerd) because it can cause stomach upset and bleeding if you have an ulcer. Ibuprofen helps with inflammation and pain. What have tried so far? I wouldn't try heat..it might make it worse. I can't believe they just want you to "make do and handle it"!

7923170 tn?1412999504 21 years old. Pregnant with second baby currently 11 weeks. Im currently taking Lovenox shots n my prenatal the passed 2 weeks have had headaches... Is it OK to take ibuprofen if I don't have tylenol available at the time.
Avatar n tn Pain relief gels are good but make sure it doesn't have ibuprofen in as that's dangerous for your baby. Physio worked for me with my first. Also, codine was awesome but check with your doctor before you take that as you can take it at some points in pregnancy but not in others.
