I had a Myomectomy 3 years ago. Family history my Mom had a hysterectomy 51 many fibriods and heavy bleeding. Will I have to take hormones if I get a hysterectomy? Thank you for your quick comments!

I have experienced heavy bleeding with clots for 5 plus years and it is getting worse. My periods are regular, but very heavy. Last period was different however, only two days long. Pain and cramps worsening, as well as radiating pain down left leg, that feels like leg is heating up from the inside. Transvaginal ultrasound showed a thick uterus during 3rd day of period and exam showed uterus has moved to left side of abdomen. I often suffer from low back pain and pressure in lower abdomen.

m 34, I had a almost complete hysterectomy (1 ovary left) last June. Surgery went well and recovery was good too. Now for the past several months I have some discomfort to my left lower pelvic area and I bleed after intercourse, then spot for a few days. I don't have my cervix anymore so I'm really not sure what could be causing this. I heard of adhesions, but not sure if they cause me to bleed??

Has anyone had the DiVinci machine for a hysterectomy? How long was recovery? How did it go?

I am a 36 year old who had to have a hysterectomy 8 years ago due to uncontrollable bleeding.. partial hysterectomy.. my ovaries, tubes, and part of my uterus are still intact.. cervix is gone.. factory closed.. haha.... recently I have had tremendous pains in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen, and this as of late coincides with bleeding vaginally.. bright red blood, so it's not "old" blood..

My doctor suggested that I have the rectocele surgery repair. I'm hesitating because I've heard horror stories about the recovery and pain afterwards (from other posting sites and my Mom as well who had the surgery 15 years ago). I've been navigating this site and it seems like people here are not spreading fear. Just how bad was the surgery and post op? Thanks.

I also had a abdominal hysterectomy on the 13th of August, with a lot f bleeding and pain afterwards. My hemoglobin was tested and it was low. I then was sent for a catscan to find out that I have hematoma. That is all I was told. Now I am in pain and wondering when it is supposed to get better?

Has anyone had their hysterectomy by robotics? Im having the robotics hysterectomy on Dec. 30 and was wondering how the recovery has been for someone who has that type of surgery.

I had a laproscopic hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. From day 1 I have had a pain in my right side. The scars on the outside look great and i have not had any bleeding. When i sneeze i feel like i m dying. It is a pulling burning feeling. if i pamper the right side it seems to get better but if i pull up from a chair or out of bed a certain way at times it is like i have ripped something all over again. my doctor said to give it time. has any one else had this issue?

I am scheduled to have a partial Hysterctomy because I've been diagnosed with Andemyosis. on December 15th (just my uterus will be removed, so far). What can I expect in regards to pain, recovery time and emotions. I've had my tubes tied for 4 years so I am fine about not having any more children. My doctor is not sure if she has to cut me or go vaginally. I am a little nervous and scared about this major procedure. Any feeback would be greatly appreciated. I am 38 years old.

It takes several weeks for your body to heal after a hysterectomy so it's best to follow the Drs orders. Take things slow and get plenty of rest.

its easy you will need a surgery , my mom just had one the hysterectomy it went fine , she better now , and no bleeding anymore , its better to get rid of it cause cyst can be real painful and they keep on growing, you will just need to take leave one ovary so your hormones wont get crazy .

Tiredness was my worst symptom!! But you defintely need to take it easy..unfortunately I had 3 surgeries 2 with the hysterectomy and 1 a week later but my incision took 8-10 weeks to heal...the norm is 4-6 but I know the insides need to heal alot longer..just when you feel good and do too much than you realize your quite not there yet..so please take this time to recover rather than end up doing something that can cause more damage..the Doctor will give you the clearance to exercise again..

I am bleeding more then I think I should. I'm not bleeding out. I do have an appointment for getting my staples out tomorrow. I go to a clinic. Neighbors are taking me. t control my bleeding they will have to remove my uterus and possibly my cervix (depending on how bad the bleeding is). She told me not to worry about menopause etc, because I will still have my ovaries. I already had one of my fallopian tubes and I still ovulate from both ovaries. I was wondering if there is anyone on this forum who can share any side effects from having their uterus removed. I have heard that your ovaries can die and cause you to go into early menopause.

i had choclate cyst when i was 28 it was removed. now i hv sever pain and bleeding during my mensus time for the past 2 months previously i have a yr ago without much bleeding. now the q. is dr. suggest to undergo open surgery for removal of uterus ovaries has cysts. she told we will see it later. she told me to under go open surgery. another dr. suggested laprocopy. which one is good in long run and i want to know if i dont remove my ovary is there a possiblility of cancer in long run.

My situation is a little different than yours but when I had both of mine my dr told me there was a chance I could end up having a hysterectomy if she couldn't stop the bleeding. (Because of my blood disorder) with this second baby, she was breech up until 37 weeks so it was looking like I was going to have to have a csection and she said again if I had any problems with bleeding she would do a csection at the same time.

The bleeding is'nt normal so yes, you should get into see your Dr as soon as possible.
