hysterectomy

967168 tn?1477584489 I'm waiting on my regular gyn to confirm everything but the Dr doing my sono today said nothing looks "suspicious" for cancer; just worsening Endometriosis & Adenomyosis from my surgery in 2005 and last tests in 2007. I have to wait until Monday to talk to my regular Gyn he's not in the office on Friday's even though they set up my appt with him.
Avatar f tn I had my appendix removed in sept of 2014 and they had found endometriosis on it. I didn't think anything of it because no one explained to me what endo was and they whizzed over my pathology report like it was no big deal. I started having BAD pain during sex and my periods have been awful. I decided to tell the doc and I recently had a pelvic exam done. OUCH. The Dr wanted to put me on Lupron but after a lot of research I've decided to keep my options open.
Avatar n tn well i tried cadio and dieting and still no results i hate to go to options as getting surgery and it does cost i just thought you may have something else but i guess ill have to deal with the weight gain which is so depressing theres got to be something out there other than surgery if you hear on it please let me know thanks
Avatar n tn I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this. I'm concerned about the success rate of a myomectomy and don't want to go through a surgical procedure and then end up having to have a hysterectomy in the long run. Naturally, I also don't want to have a hysterectomy and end up with complications and am really afraid of menopause.
Avatar f tn If I have a hysterectomy, seeing how I had my tubes cut and they remove my uterus will I still have monthly periods? Also, we are going on a cruise in Oct, will I be complete healed by then? Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn If I had it to do all over again, I would op to wait to see what new technology becomes available in the field of medicine and not the surgery. They have more options now, using hysterectomies as a last resort. I immediately noticed that sex between my husband and I changed. The feeling I had before the surgery, sex wise, was GONE! It's like you don't feel anything, and that's not only for me but for my husband as well.
1087834 tn?1256647396 Please dont just have a hysterectomy,go on the hysterectomy site and see the alternatves.I had a hysterectomy and have since found out, there was other treatment available, please check it out.My doctor total me there was no treatment for fibroids but there is,if i had known this I would have never had my hysterectomy, take care.
Avatar m tn t touch each other the trust has gone I believe the surgeon never gave her any options and the hysterectomy was totaly unnecessar y.
482924 tn?1333203671 After that from the fifth day I was on the same medicine again. Now the doctor says that I should opt for hysterectomy surgery as the problem will recurr if I stop medicine. Is it true? Pl suggest urgently.
7930203 tn?1395494387 Your gynecologist is the best one to diagnose the problem and offer you your options. If you don't understand what is recommended, ask questions until you understand. If it is cancer, that's when I'd say you need surgery such as hysterectomy and oophorectomy. For non-cancer problems there are usually less invasive surgical options. So keep an open mind. If the doctor refuses to explain your options, then you need a second opinion.
Avatar f tn Opt for a hysterectomy to play it safe? Laparotomy? Some way to coordinate gall bladder treatment with this? I already clearly know that if a hysterectomy is opted for, I need a GYN-ONC to perform that one. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn If you do have to have a hysterectomy there are hormone options that will help you with the possible mood swings and hot flashes. Some women do well with out hormones and others don't. We're here to help in any way we can.
Avatar f tn A small fibroid is not a reason to get a hysterectomy, either. Endometriosis can be treated by laparoscopic surgery, but it is to remove the endometriosis, not the uterus. Are you sure your doctor wanted you to have a hysterectomy? Here is a link that describes endometriosis. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar n tn nt been through this myself but I would look at all of your options and really talk with your Dr. A hysterectomy is surgery of course and will last a life time. Ask your Dr if there is a way to keep your uterus and correct this problem. Keep us up to date on how your doing and take care.
Avatar f tn Hysterectomy is a DESTRUCTIVE surgery as the uterus and the uterine ligaments (that are severed during hysterectomy) have LIFE LONG functions. They keep the bladder and bowel in their proper positions for normal function. The uterine ligaments are THE support structures for the pelvis. They keep the spine, hips, and rib cage properly aligned hence skeletal integrity is destroyed by hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn some omentum removal, some lymph nodes removed, I think an apendectomy diaphram scrapping (my terms not his) and something else or do the the original surgery and take a wait and see approach? If in the rare instance it is malignant (which he does not think it would be) then the surgery would pretty much be the same. My question is if it is benign, mucinous or serous cystadenoma, should I just go for the hysterectomy anyway and get rid of all furture concerns?

Avatar f tn i have already had a partial hysterectomy. is total ovaary removal an option for me? i have had so much discomfort from this for several months now. i have had quite a few surgeries in the past and i wonder if i should request that they just be removed.
Avatar f tn First of all please be sure this surgery is being done by a gyn/oncologist. That is very important. You do truly only get one change to have this done right. You are very young and there are alot of fertility preserving options that should be available to you, "IF" pathology is returned unfavorable, and all these options should be layed out to you prior to surgery. Sometimes in your case, it is necessary to have two surgeries. Best wishes to you, and please keep us updated.
Avatar f tn I'm 24 years old and I'm scheduled to have a complete hysterectomy next month on the 24th. Can anyone tell me what to expect after surgery, please?
922475 tn?1243962297 Ok.. so the robotic surgery is really a breeze.. just keep in mind it IS surgery! I really don't have much soreness. I did have some gas pain in my shoulders soon after I woke in recovery. But...I had surgery on Monday and I really feel great. My belly isn't really as sore as I thought it would be. My instructions are activities as tolerated. But, I am taking it easy just to be sure. I only have to miss a week of work. I can get up and down easy.
6339603 tn?1380470060 Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you to go to an ob/gyn specialist. There are LOTS of options to manage fibroids. There are some medications that can suppress the growth and bleeding (the medication has side effects though) there is MRI guided ultrasonic fibroid ablation, there is uterine artery embolization, there are also surgeries such as myomectomy (removal of fibroid) or hysterectomy (removal of uterus). See a specialist for more information on all of the different options.
Avatar m tn Hey there, I am looking for some information/personal experiences/advise etc., a hysterectomy. This may be a controversial topic for some, and I have thought ling and hard, and I am still thinking about it. I am 20 years old, and have endometriosis, adenomyosis and small cysts on my ovaries. My periods have always been exceptionally heavy, and have only got heavier and more painful.
314833 tn?1263259499 I have Endrometerosis, really bad. I have tried all other options with no relief. It also looks like i have the ovarian cancer gene.
