hysterectomy

967168 tn?1477584489 I'm waiting on my regular gyn to confirm everything but the Dr doing my sono today said nothing looks "suspicious" for cancer; just worsening Endometriosis & Adenomyosis from my surgery in 2005 and last tests in 2007. I have to wait until Monday to talk to my regular Gyn he's not in the office on Friday's even though they set up my appt with him.
Avatar m tn , a hysterectomy. This may be a controversial topic for some, and I have thought ling and hard, and I am still thinking about it. I am 20 years old, and have endometriosis, adenomyosis and small cysts on my ovaries. My periods have always been exceptionally heavy, and have only got heavier and more painful.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.
Avatar f tn I also recently learned that I have high blood pressure (used to be low) and I have been on meds for this for two months and it is still pretty high in the morning. Maternal side of my family has been studied for years for the BRCA gene. My mom and her two sisters all had breast cancer. So far, one aunt has died from breast cancer with metas. to colon. My other aunt recently found hers has metast. too (all over her body). My mom breast cancer survivor.
Avatar n tn nt been through this myself but I would look at all of your options and really talk with your Dr. A hysterectomy is surgery of course and will last a life time. Ask your Dr if there is a way to keep your uterus and correct this problem. Keep us up to date on how your doing and take care.
Avatar f tn I didnt get to see my regular doctor the other day but the one that was in gave me a steroid shot and said that if was muscle related that should help but alas the chest pains still came and went, just like they always have.
Avatar f tn PCOS does not just refer to your ovaries, but it is an endocrine system abnormality (syndrome) that affects all your hormones, and insulin is a hormone. Metformin and a low GI diet and walking are your new religion. Metformin will regulate the cycle after a few months or so, as long as you are on a good diet, and cut out alcohol as well. Stress and lack of sleep also intefere.... and I hear you say; "but I don't want a baby yet so I need a contraceptive"... use CONDOMS....
Avatar f tn I have 20 days left too! Walking lots and sex help. Other people say spicy food, bouncing on a birthing ball or side of a bed, and driving on bumpy roads, but I tried all of that with both my frost and second and had to be induced because I was overdue.
Avatar f tn I've been on xanax for a few years and it's not really working , what other meds are out there to treat anxiety that won't knock me out?
Avatar n tn well i tried cadio and dieting and still no results i hate to go to options as getting surgery and it does cost i just thought you may have something else but i guess ill have to deal with the weight gain which is so depressing theres got to be something out there other than surgery if you hear on it please let me know thanks
314833 tn?1263259499 I have Endrometerosis, really bad. I have tried all other options with no relief. It also looks like i have the ovarian cancer gene.
Avatar f tn t afford to be off work for a hysterectomy, just trying to avoid it but I have come to the conclusion that I have no other options. I started taking vitron C which has helped my anemia. Oddly, my hormone levels are ok. I've had several IV fluids. I just want to find out underlying problem and I am coming up with no answers. I see a hysterectomy in near future. Has anyone else experienced something like this??
1087834 tn?1256647396 Please dont just have a hysterectomy,go on the hysterectomy site and see the alternatves.I had a hysterectomy and have since found out, there was other treatment available, please check it out.My doctor total me there was no treatment for fibroids but there is,if i had known this I would have never had my hysterectomy, take care.
2004742 tn?1327656482 I want baby with my husband and 11 years ago I had my ovaries and cervix removed. Can I still have a baby?
Avatar n tn ( My doctor was deceptive about my condition and treatment options and I should not have trusted him. Having been his patient for 20 years, I thought I could. Unfortunately, deceit is the main reason there are so many hysterectomies in the U.S. and some other countries. The majority of gynecologists are not honest about their patients' conditions, treatment options and the lifelong damaging effects of hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn There are many hormone options from contraceptives to hormone "replacement." Since estrogen feeds endo, it is thought that a progestin or progesterone should be taken along with any estrogen to attempt to keep the endo from growing.
Avatar m tn Ok so in 2012 I had a hysterectomy but they left my ovaries and tubes in tact. I am nervous because Friday I go in it has my tubes and ovaries removed as well as thinning of scar tissue from my hysterectomy. What do I need to expect as well as recovery since I have 3 kids under the age of 6. Also any information on different hormone replacement therapies would be much appreciated.
757254 tn?1237545523 If you desire another baby your choices are surrogacy or adoption...babys are wonderful and a blessing consider your options you cant carry another baby in your body but you can get a baby through other options I know youd love him or her just the same....Blessing to you !!!!!
Avatar f tn All this started after my tubual in january, what i want to knw if there are other options. I have heard some good stories and some bad.
Avatar f tn It sounds as though you are having second thoughts about having a hysterectomy and as AnnieBrooke said, making this kind of permanent decision when in the grip of depression may lead to a ton of regret later on. I would definitely look into other treatment options for the endometriosis and also look in to better treatment for your depression. If your meds aren't working, work with a psychiatrist to find meds that do work for you.
Avatar f tn However, UFE is done by radiologists not gynecologists. So bottom line, that would be lost business for your gyn. Hysterectomy is very profitable and grossly overused so chances are many gyns will tell you to have a hysterectomy. I had one 10 years ago at age 49 and regret it every day. It is the surgery that keeps on giving "problem after problem." Best of luck in getting information and treatment that restores your health versus causing a whole new set of problems.
Avatar f tn This year, prior to even examining me she stated that because I have fibroids and the first two days of my period are heavy I will more than likely need to have a hysterectomy. My concern is she has offered no other options and told me some pretty grave stories about women who allowed their fibroids to get too large and experienced blood clots in the lungs(?). After requesting my medical records, the information I have is 3 fibroids measuring "up to 2 cm each". Uterus is 11.4 x 5.
Avatar n tn Uterus is enlarged, measuring 11.1 x 6.3 x 5.8 cm. There is a mass along the posterior uterine body measuring 3.8 x 3.7 x 3.1 cm and another mass anteriorly on the left measuring 1.4 x 1.5 x 1.4 cm. There is some fluid seen within the endocervical canal. My ovaries are normal in size but there are simple bilatral ovarian cysts measuring 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.4 cm and 0.8 x 1.1 x 0.8 cm with additional follicles noted within the left ovary. No free intrapelvic fluid noted.
Avatar f tn See an ob-gyn and get some diagnosis -- maybe an ultrasound or an MRI to rule out polyps or fibroids -- and to talk about various options. I would be leery of ablation if he suggests it, because it means you could not have kids safely later, but I'd be open to any other possibilities, including a D&C to remove any interior growths in the uterus, or putting you on a pill that will reduce the periods.
Avatar f tn I was suppose to go for exporitory surgery for the mass that was found on my right ovary but they found it to be cancer and opted, with my consent, to do a total hysterectomy. My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn He said if he sees endo all over he is suggesting I have a hysterectomy. I am 39 years old and done having kids. I am unsure if a hysterectomy is necessary.
Avatar f tn I had my appendix removed in sept of 2014 and they had found endometriosis on it. I didn't think anything of it because no one explained to me what endo was and they whizzed over my pathology report like it was no big deal. I started having BAD pain during sex and my periods have been awful. I decided to tell the doc and I recently had a pelvic exam done. OUCH. The Dr wanted to put me on Lupron but after a lot of research I've decided to keep my options open.
