Hypoglycemia weight gain

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia weight gain

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn Your weight gain is fine hun. The main thing is to try to eliminate as much sugar from your diet as possible (no artificial sugars either) and eat lots of protein. You should treat hypoglycemia almost exactly as you would treat diabetes. I know that's not always easy, but high protein & lots of veggies will help regulate your blood sugar. If you get a sweet tooth, eat fruit, not sweets. You'll do great!
Avatar f tn m too little but my not has no concerns on my weight gain he say I just might be tiny.
Avatar f tn Once I started doing that the hypoglycemic events decreased drastically and I started to gain weight appropriately. Also, I was a candy addict before getting pregnant and if you eat simple sugars like that it will raise and drop your blood sugar quickly. Also had to give that up!! Hope this helps.

4154024 tn?1363755731 Does anyone make pregnancy weight gain a top priority? All along I been trying to monitor my pregnancy weight gain week by week using MedHelp Pregnancy App and the entry results has been driving me up the wall. I finally contacted my OB with this concern and they provided me a breakdown of the weight entries since I was tested positive and the results seem to be within normal range. What should I do to keep my mind off my weight gain?

Avatar f tn Well, my last test showed by levels were back to normal, yet my fatigue remains, so does the insomnia and depression (for which I take anti-depressants). My weight gain continues and I suffer from reactive hypoglycemia - yet it seems inconsistent. I track my food daily and often eating similar foods on consecutive days - most of the time I'm ok, then I can repeat a meal and have an attack. Don't understand why.
Avatar f tn i become tired, ill feeling, weak, sometimes disoriented, and fall asleep often after eating, etc . I have lost 20pounds. i have never been able to gain weight and have always been considered underweight-this is very distressing because generally this will take me a year to gain back. The only exception to this was pregnancy where i gained more than half my body weight without trying and immediately lost the weight post partum.
358971 tn?1330888975 i was just wondering if you have learned anything new with this. i also have PCOS and chronic Hypoglycemia that is not diabetes related. i was misdiagnosed with CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). what are your weight issues...losing or gaining? i have been trying for over a year to gain weight. i am 5'1" and only weigh 90 lbs. this is all new to me. i have extreme highs and lows...more lows than anything.
Avatar n tn If you don't properly digest your food you will store fat. Taking digestive enzymes with ox bile will help your condition. I had my gall bladder removed 2 and 1/2 years ago and had problems with abdominal pain and weight loss. I lost weight because every time I ate I would have pain. The less I ate the better I felt. I started taking digestive enzymes 6 months after surgery because I developed fibromyalgia. It helped with my abdominal pain.
Avatar f tn Eat more frequently?? Something is obviously wrong. It could possibly be hypoglycemia or diabetes. Weight loss is not necessarily a symptom, especially of Type 2 Diabetes. Random blood sugar tests are virtually meaningless. He needs to do an A1C which is a test of the average of your blood sugars for the last couple months. If it is not hypoglycemia or diabetes then you need a doctor who will help you figure out what else it might be.
Avatar n tn achy, cold and weight gain, shaky when blood sugar feels low. Do you take two meds at the same time? What about natural supplements? Thinking about going to a health food store.......hate taking any more meds than I have to.
Avatar f tn They can have facial hair, weight gain is also common. But weight gain can be associated with a slow thyroid as well (and too much eating, ha ha). So, is it PCOS or thyroid or just your normal self . . .?? Really, only a doctor can tell you this and this is who you should see.
1571533 tn?1322943509 he thinks this is whats caused the headaches to get bad since last summer, if it is then it could also be a major factor in my weight gain too.. he did a test on me today that proved i have headaches that are mimicing migraines not true migraines.. they did tests before the surgery but sa far as i know none tested my sugar, i was under the impression they were just tests to be sure i was healthy enough for the surgery, you know the day before pre surgery tests?
Avatar m tn Weight loss is seen in pancreatitis since it affects both the exocrine and endocrine function of the organ causing malabsorption of fats and proteins. Weight gain is an uncommon scenario but may be seen due to the action of stress hormones which may further be complexed with hypothyroidism in your case. I would suggest considering an evaluation by a gastroenterologist and an endocrinologist for suggestion of an appropriate management plan. Hope this helps. Take care!
736293 tn?1316517842 , but that just seems really extreme to me. I know i could gain the weight she wants by next appt, but i am not willing to do it in an unhealthy way just to make her happy. To me 2 pounds really doesn't seem like a lot, but she said since it is 20% of what i have gained total is why she is making a big deal out of it. I haven't changed any of my eating habits, but the weather is finally getting nice here, so i am getting out of the house and being more active.
Avatar f tn Weight gain. Dizzyness and confusion 2 hours after eating breakfast. Dry skin. Loosing my hair. (I used to have full beautiful hair) Brittle nails. I am CONSTANTLY thirsty which is leading me to urinate every 2 hours! I am very very healthy, I eat very good and run 2-3 miles every single day. I should not be gaining weight by any means. Usually when someone is hyperactive they lose weight. Seems to be the opposite for me. Looks like my T3 and T4 levels look great.
Avatar f tn extreme fatigue, Vertigo, cold all the time, irritability, shaking, brain fog, losing periods of time, falling asleep (did this driving), not feeling rested, short of breath, weight gain, dizzy, bp fluctuates usually low reading like 100/68 but some higher, as high as 150/92, fast heart rate usually in 90 or 120 range resting. Taking phenterimine helped me feel better. Recently had labs, b12 191 - I've took a shot a week for a month now a shot a month, no difference.
Avatar n tn I find that when I gain weight that is put on as fat tissue, my absorption of insulin and matching dose to food intake gets all out of whack. Fat tissue is much more difficult for insulin regulation as it is insulin resistant and when I take more insulin instead of using exercise to cover BG, sometimes it backfires.
2088051 tn?1334542007 So I Was Diagnosed With Hypoglycemia When I Was 15.. I'm 18 Now. It Seems Like It's Gotten Worse As I've Gotten Older. I'll Eat.. Then Not Even An Hour Later, I'll Start Shaking. This Stuff Is Horrible. I Just Need To Know If It's Because I'm Not Eating Enough Or It's Because Of The Food I Eat. Help!
1450627 tn?1296616593 My weight gain was 21 lbs in 5 weeks. She was concerned about this, ugh, so am I. My blood pressure was also higher then normal too, maybe just cuz I was nervous becuase we just talked about the weight gain...But anyway. I really only drink water, and a lot of it, and not really much pop or juice; and I eat like I always have and am gaining weight, plus I've been getting really shaky a lot. Anyone else faced this?
Avatar n tn ) I am also on a med that causes weight gain, so I have not lost any weight. Thank you for your time, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Evillady However, if you delay its dose, then it has little impact. It may cause weight gain. It is used only in patients where metformin and other drugs are not effective. Since both insulin and Bydurean is taken by subcutaneous injection, it is always preferable to switch to insulin as it has minimal side effects. However, with insulin, you need to be very careful to eat on time as it may cause hypoglycemia. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
