Avatar f tn Its really annoying, i was wondring if anyone has gobe through this, or psychological?
Avatar n tn m still doing research on the relationship between anxiety and hypoglycemia. The evidence seems to suggest that low blood sugar forces the release of adrenalin and cortisol hormones (to boost blood glucose levels) which in turn have the side effect of increasing anxiety. If this is the care, then one must wonder how many people who take medication for anxiety, depression, trembling disorders, etc., are really just suffering from low blood sugar and don't know it.
Avatar m tn So this is going to be long, please forgive me! I just want to make sure I don't miss any details. I'm a 31 yo female, I have a long history of anxiety and it was self managed. I have always coped with it appropriately. Unfortunately, my form of anxiety/phobia is fear of health problems. My main issue being fear of hypoglycemia. In short, I'm trying to get to the bottom of my symptoms, they are becoming debilitating and are effecting my daily life.
Avatar n tn My question is, how to tell the difference btw. anxiety and mania. And, whether antidepressants can make people with anxiety experience more symptoms of anxiety. Or, whether this can be considered mania. Perhaps I should send my question to the doctor's forum. Although, every time I try to submit a question, I get a "the doctor is not accepting any more questions" notice.
Avatar m tn respiratory issues, nausea, numbness, pain, muscle spasms, memory problems, confusion, anxiety, anemia, hypoglycemia, heart racing... All started up just out of the blue. Symptoms come and go frequently. Sometimes I feel normal. Sometimes I suffer like no other. Its Been getting worse. Seems like my mind is in a fog? Could this be a Neurolical infection or what? I cant afford healthcare and am terrified of doctors because usually when they pull my blood I pass out.
2118271 tn?1337463104 re just going to fuel your anxiety doing that. There are lab tests your doctor can do to rule out hypoglycemia as an actual medical condition. It really sounds to me more like your daily habits (like admittedly forgetting to eat) are the culprit here. Definitely have a talk with your doc about your concerns, and start working towards a more balanced and regular diet, to help eliminate the ups and downs. If you ARE hypoglycemic, learn appropriate ways to manage it.
Avatar f tn I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
1773104 tn?1314155711 Anyone familiar with anxiety attacks being caused by hypoglycemia? I read that when your brain isn't getting enough glucose, it will tell your body to release adrenaline to get it's glucose, thus, spawning an anxiety attack.
1211508 tn?1343079605 Thank you Dr. Sharma for your response. What could cause acute temporary shortage of blood or O2 to the brain? And how would I know if I have anemia? I've been under anxiety lately and have GAD (general anxiety disorder) with agoraphobia but the lightheaded spells always happen after I eat. Also can high anxiety and near panic states cause one to feel faint and or nauseous (like throwing up)?
Avatar n tn Dizziness is associated with number of causes like anxiety, hypotension, hypoglycemia, inner ear disorder etc. Do you have some other symptoms too?
Avatar m tn I have been eating my 3 meals a day and snacking. I do have anxiety disorder, and i take Paxil. This starving sensation has been going on for about 4 days now. I am also tired all the time. I have a feeling that it is not hypoglythemia, and ive herd it may be do to stress or other possible growing pains. I am concerned about this and my parents believe i shouldn't have to see a doctor. As i said my main symptom is feeling a staerving feeling even after i have a good sized meal.
Avatar f tn It can also be anxiety and panic disorder. Heart problems like mitral valve prolapse too should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn He was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder but very mild. Other than that, he is fine. Thank you for your time.
1421029 tn?1282717378 i also wondered if the anxiety disorder could be causing all these other symptoms as well. i mean even though i had a little abnormality the neurologist made it seem like it wasnt life threatening or anything. idk im so lost. help im going through it. and i have been feelin real dizzy these past couple of days. as well as a little weak but not extremely weak just a little.
Avatar n tn I am a Type II diabetic and what you have described sounds like hypoglycemia vs. hyperglycemia (diabetes). I have experienced hypoglycemia on several occasions and my symptoms were quite similar to yours. See your doc right away.
956433 tn?1255977108 s before anyone knew about this because she was having anxiety, depression, etc. Hypoglycemia in my case is a leading cause in my anxiety triangle.
Avatar n tn I agree completely with the above, but my question is, how do you know you have hypoglycemia? Is it properly diagnosed? I ask, because many people self diagnose this disorder, and many practitioners of natural medicine think everyone almost has it -- it became quite a fad a few years back. In truth, very few people have this disorder as a chronic problem.
Avatar f tn t think it is a result of no more Norco however, I feel that it is because I just started Zoloft hoping that would help the withdrawal anxiety, but it created more anxiety plus full blown panic attacks, and I read that it can do this while it is entering your body (for about a month or so). I have hydroxyzine for panic attacks now as my doctor didn't want to prescribe me the Ativan anymore because it was making me really tired every time i took it.
1421029 tn?1282717378 When i was having an anxiety attack i believe it was low because it was 57 when i went to the hospital. Hypoglycemia is a definite question in the matter. I am pretty sure from what others said who have hypoglycemia that all the tingling and burnin can come with that too. But can this be lyme?
Avatar f tn It’s taken me two years, but I think I figured out that I have reactive hypoglycemia. I’m F, 38 always been super healthy and focused on health. Right before or during my period, if I don’t eat enough or on time I get hypoglycemic. If I eat dinner too late, reactive hypoglycemia happens. It’s a horrible feeling!
Avatar n tn She displays an anxiety disorder (likely an obsessive-type obsessive-compulsive disorder) and this requires treatment. Arrange an evaluation with a child psychiatrist.
