Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia symptoms anxiety

hypoglycemia

Avatar m tn t any spikes and then drops of your blood sugar. I have read that sometimes the symptoms of hypoglycemia can be more sever if the numbers are dropping fast, not necessarily how low they actually go. Also, you want to eat based on how much activity you are doing at the current moment. if you are sitting around watching TV, you won't need the energy from the sugar and calories the way that you would if you are going for a walk or even working out.
Avatar n tn You don't say if you have type 1 diabetes. How low does your blood sugar drop at how long after eating. Then how high does it spike? Are you on medication or insulin?
1773104 tn?1314155711 Feeling lightheaded, shaky and faint are all symptoms of hypoglycemia, but also anxiety. The first thing you need to do is get some bloodwork done to determine if you are hypoglycemic and go from there. Hope this helps and best wishes.
Avatar n tn 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
1523917 tn?1302215871 Ok. I just recently found out that I'm hypoglycemic. I have a pretty good primary Doctor. But I want a second opinion. She said that with my hypoglycemia, I have the symptoms, but don't need medicine for it, I just need to eat every 2 to 3 hours. So, is that right? Do some hypoglycemics not need medicine to control it? Also, I'm terrified that I will go into a coma or have seizures...
Avatar f tn http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/panic-attacks/DS00338/DSECTION=symptoms I know you've said you have had blood tests, but I'd call your doc and make sure that they tested you for diabetes, hypoglycemia, and thyroid problems as these can all cause similar things to happen.
956433 tn?1255977108 s before anyone knew about this because she was having anxiety, depression, etc. Hypoglycemia in my case is a leading cause in my anxiety triangle.
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn ve done a great job of describing someone with anxiety and panic problems, especially on a bad day. Panic and anxiety disorders (the "fight or flight" response gone awry) produce so many of the same physical symptoms.
Avatar f tn It’s taken me two years, but I think I figured out that I have reactive hypoglycemia. I’m F, 38 always been super healthy and focused on health. Right before or during my period, if I don’t eat enough or on time I get hypoglycemic. If I eat dinner too late, reactive hypoglycemia happens. It’s a horrible feeling!
Avatar f tn Does anyone get just awful stress/anxiety and hypoglycemia symptoms from your thryoid problem? Or could it be adrenal? I wake up so light headed (I do take 15 mg Dalmane - sometimes 30 mg). But right now if I don't get up in the middle of night and eat something, feels like my blood sugar is off even with numbers in the 70s. I am having a hard time figuring out whether to wait until I see my endo again, or go to my internist.
Avatar f tn A while back, last summer, I had been on a road trip from minnesota back to missouri, I hardly ate anything but a little bit of puppy chow and some cheese curds, that night while trying to unpack before eating I got really dizzy and shaky, I realize at this point it was most likely from low blood sugar due to not eating, but not every time I go for a few hours without eating when I start to feel hungry I get really shaky and anxious, do you think this is hypoglycemia developing or just associati
2118271 tn?1337463104 Also, ask your doctor if you should be checking it at home, and if so, how often, and stick to those instructions (with the exception of when you would feel hypoglycemic symptoms). Anxiety amd panic will not cause changes in your glucose readings. It's very hard to discern where one condition stops and another one starts in these kinds of situations.
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).
Avatar n tn What surprised me was when I checked into hypoglycemia and found that some of the most common symptoms are anxiety, panic attacks, nervousness, and trembing. All these seem to occur when blood sugar gets low. Heart palpitations are another common symptom. You seem to be suggesting that my problems could be coming from a mental health disorder and I'm looking at it the other way. What if all these mental health disorders are the result of my blood glucose levels being low?
Avatar f tn it sounds like anxiety,i gets all these syptoms and more, try not let the symptoms get you down to much but you do really need to try and see a doctor about this.

1211508 tn?1343079605 I have anxiety but also have reactive hypoglycemia- this means that if I eat a simple sugar and no protein or fats, my blood sugar can fall very fast shortly after a meal and lead to symptoms that are very much like anxiety. They can cause each other- anxiety causing hypoglycemia and hypoglycemia fueling the anxiety. It's an easy fix- just making sure you always eat a protein and fat with your meals.
Avatar f tn i have anixety problems and also hypoglycemia, and i noticed that when i start eating the wrong stuff and not taking care of my sugar it makes my anxiety go nuts..and i heard that hypoglycemia can actually cause anxiety..
Avatar m tn We are talking about Hypocalcaemia ( unless he used the wrong word here which have something to do with calcium rather than sugar. Hypoglycemia is the medical term for a state produced by a lower than normal level of blood glucose.
