Hypoglycemia and joint pain

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia and joint pain

hypoglycemia

709686 tn?1277432159 Your symptoms suggest not diabetes, but hypoglycemia, except for the joint and muscle pain, at least I never had the joint and muscle pain.
Avatar f tn I would like to add that her joint pain has 'spread' and is now in other joints such as her ankles, wrists, and elbows although it seems to remain the most predominant in her knees. Her knees also hurt very badly after she fainted. She becomes dizzy upon standing and sometimes for no apparent reason and once lost her vision for around 5 minutes during a 'dizzy' attack. She has A LOT of trouble focusing in school and may have some memory issues as well.
414383 tn?1217215569 You have also mentioned of joint pains, hypoglycemia and thyroid problems. Infections have to be ruled out here first. The joint pains may be a focus of the infection. If redness and swelling are noted in the joints then autoimmune disease and viral infections need to be ruled out. Have you been worked up by an internist lately? I feel that you need to be assessed by an infectious disease specialist.
787406 tn?1339203183 My symptoms are muscle pain, muscle spasms, joint pain and now just 3 days ago muscle twitching in rib area. I also get intermittent double vision and blurred vision. I just went through a neck MRI today, and Neuro Opthamologist and Neurologist are scheduling a muscle biopsy. I had a normal EMG and Nerve Conduction test. And CPK was normal as well as aldolase and lactic acid were normal. Has anyone with Myositis had these symptoms with their Myositis?
Avatar n tn If not, then perhpas the narcotic medication is to blame and another medication should be considered. Pain is miserable, but hypoglycemia can be life-threatening (especially when driving), so an alternative medication would perhaps be the smarter approach even if pain is not treated quite as well with it.
Avatar f tn t until my doctor gave me a medication to control my blood sugar that my hand and feet pain and body pain went away. I do have periods when my pain comes back and that is usually when I have my period. My doctor said that my change in hormones makes it difficult to regulate my blood sugar and with time, diet and exercise that hopefully I will be completely pain free. There is many different stages that people go through with this condition and not everyone is effected the same way.
Avatar f tn Thanks, Ticked, for the support. To answer your question, the pain is not joint or muscle pain. It feels like I banged my shin -- the bones feel tender if pressed, as if I had bruised them. Sometimes, they will ache. It's only the bones below my knees and the tops of my feet. I wonder if it's a circulatory problem (I sit at a computer all day for work). My left ankle also swells like you wouldn't believe.
Avatar f tn i have anixety problems and also hypoglycemia, and i noticed that when i start eating the wrong stuff and not taking care of my sugar it makes my anxiety go nuts..and i heard that hypoglycemia can actually cause anxiety..
946578 tn?1258663287 It was positive for the SOD,had a sphincterotomy, and then was still having pain ,went back and on an old MRI they noticed I had Pancreas Divisim and put a stent in. Well here I am still in pain and no answers. I feel your pain. My understanding is that SOD can be fixed but most of the time is only a temporary fix. Had problems with my blood sugar dropping way before any of these issues started, so not sure what that may be about.
Avatar f tn I just ate a few potato chips and I got upper left and right abdominal pain and then the chest pain came about. I also have a slight headache, but the shortness of breath and nausea seem to be at bay. Might I mention I've not really left the couch since after work.
Avatar f tn The dizzy sensations were more pronounced, and I had a pain in my side that I was afraid might be the beginning of a kidney stone pain. Then I noticed that it hurt worse when I took a deep breath and so thought it might just be a pulled muscle (I do have 3 kids that like to be held). The pain kinda spread around my whole midsection: abdomin and ribs. When I got home, I felt very flu-ish again and had a low grade fever around 100.
136956 tn?1688675680 The physiotherapist at the time touch me somewhere near my lower back and pain shot down my leg and up my back. That is when the pain started. I have bad sciatica issues and lots of pain in my lower back..
Avatar n tn i took cipro for 3 days and got joint pains in calves, knees and knuckle. doc said stop immediately and see if infection was cleared. 2 days later i started having more blurry vision and would wake up in the middle of the night shaking uncontrollably and sweating. so bad that i went to the e.r. once. (but i ate durning this episode, so when i got to the er doc 6 hrs later i was fine) they ran ekg, blood tests, and i still had a slightly elevated white blood cell count.
1033336 tn?1252506131 My baby doctor told me to not worry about the arthritis and pain from my child bearing hips they said take tylenol and the pain would go away well it did not I found myself lying in bed every day all during my pregnancy because of pain everywhere. I stopped working my excuse was to raise my family but really its because of the constant fatigue and also having two small children.
Avatar n tn I was on the verge of collapse and quickly drank a 12 oz soda and some orange juice. My sugar then shot up to 145 and although shakey I felt a lot better. 30 more minutes rolled around, I ate rice and chicken, and in the middle of my meal I began feeling lightheaded again...sugar had dropped back to 52, so I drank another soda.
Avatar n tn In her case, we now think they are illness related as it happened in the hosp with the gallbladder pain, etc. and a week ago at school and yesterday was at the Dr for an ear/sinus infection which is dragging her down. Keep us posted. I'm glad you have an answer but no cure yet!
787406 tn?1339203183 Right now my diagnosis are Undifferentiated connective tissue disease, Inflammatory arthritis, Raynauds, a little fibromyalgia and a little lupus, hypoglycemia, mitral valve prolapse and loose valves. Nerve pain in knees, fingers and toes and a new diagnosis of Chronic Paroxymal Hemicrania and Trigeminal Cephalgia.
2132869 tn?1335724300 I have a lot of severe joint pain, every joint, every day, but especially the feet and knees. I also suffer from migraines and lately have had a pretty big increase in the floaters in my eyes. I have been diagnosed with degenerative bone and joint disease and have had lumbar reconstructive surgery in 2008. The removed L4, L5, L6 (I had an extra vertibrae). I have Dupont disk and titanium cage in place. Any thought or ideas for me? I am tired of hurting and the numbness.
Avatar n tn Some other causes of dizziness are dehydration, infections,TIA,inner ear diseases, endocrine disorders like thyroid, adrenal glands, and pituitary gland disorders, anxiety and panic attacks, blood pressure medications, pain relievers and some antibiotics.Cervical spondolysis, vertebrobasilar insufficiency and carotid sinus syndrome can also cause dizziness. I sincerely advise you to consult a physician/ENT surgeon and get these possibilities ruled out.
Avatar m tn i bet you if sharanbr reduce the levothyroxine dose he get relief from symptoms as i too went like him when i was over medicated. please don't give false information like 'I don't think joint pain, stiff neck and back pain are due solely to the high Free T4 level'. let him try that simple thing first based on doctor's advice.
Avatar n tn The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common? Something more serious with my blood glucose? Something that will effect my heart if it continues? Please help me find answers.
Avatar f tn Up until 2 years ago I was healthy and active. Now I am sick to the point where I am bedridden and only able to get around for brief periods with the use of a wheelchair. My symptoms include: diarrhea alternating with constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness & pain, bone & joint pain, itching, profuse sweating, seizures, tremors, leftsided paralysis that sometimes lasts 5-10 mins.
1773104 tn?1314155711 Certainly hypoglycemia can trigger anxiety and panic, but rarely would it be the sole cause behind it. It is common for someone new to anxiety to do serious soul searching to try and find a logical "reason" behind the new emergence of anxiety and panic. We turn into detectives and try to find a sensible reason why it showed up (most times seemingly "out of the blue").
Avatar m tn OK, so here is my mystery illness story please tell me what you think- October '07- Feeling very fatigued little motivation. I work from home on the computer with poor posture and a bright screen. November '07- Go to doc blood tests normal (anemia, hypoglycemia, hyperthyroid, iron). They find I have a Urinary Tract infection and put me on 3 days of antibiotics. I get a flu shot.
