Avatar m tn Coadministration with potent inhibitors of CYP450 3A4 may significantly increase the plasma concentrations of silodosin, which is primarily metabolized by the isoenzyme. In a pharmacokinetic study, administration of a single 8 mg dose of silodosin with the potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole (400 mg) resulted in a 3.8-fold increase in silodosin peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and a 3.2-fold increase in systemic exposure (AUC).
Avatar n tn My mom takes that and I've never checked. That's a good question.
Avatar m tn Why are you taking Hydrochlorothiazide? It is prescribed for a variety of conditions. Like vienna13 mentioned, sometimes medications just don't work after a period of time. Perhaps the condition you have requires a stronger medication. Hydrochlorothiazide is often the first prescribed when blood pressure is elevated, is that why you are taking it?
Avatar f tn I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension? Thanks.
Avatar m tn m interested in hearing from anybody who has had similar symptoms, or a similar course of action before getting a diagnosis. I have never really heard of tinnitis or vertigo being symptoms of MS, and those are the main reasons I even started pursuing medical help to begin with. The doctors have ruled out some explanations (like the acoustic neuroma), but there are still other possibilities on the table (Meniere's disease, or even high blood pressure for example).
Avatar n tn It kind of sounds like a form of Action tremors, but I have to agree with mkh9.
Avatar n tn The atenolol may not be the cause of the tiredness. It may be that her heart is weaker and causing her to be tired. When I took atenolol it did not make me tired at all. Atenolol did not make my mom tired.
Avatar m tn Its constantly waking him up in the middle of the night because he shoulder will start hurting and his hand go numb. He was saying that a friend of his had the same problems but it was from lacquer thinner poisoning. Im just wondering if maybe there is another problem or not.His left arm is just fine. Im wondering if its a pinched nerve, a bad disk or what.
Avatar m tn The onset of action ranges from 45 minutes - 1 ½ hours, and the duration of action is six hours. Diazepam carries a bi-phasic half-life of 20-50 hours (for Diazepam), and 30-200 hours (for Desmethyldiazepam). Valium is indicated for the long-term management of generalized anxiety and tension-anxiety. Tolerance will not develop to the anxiolytic property of Diazepam, although tolerance will develop to the sedative/hypnotic property.
Avatar m tn A partial µ-opioid receptor agonist, its mixed agonist/antagonist activity affords it a lower risk of dependence and abuse than full µ agonists like morphine. Meptazinol exhibits not only a short onset of action, but also a shorter duration of action relative to other opioids such as morphine, pentazocine, or buprenorphine.
Avatar f tn I starting concentrating on foods with potassium such as bananas and also increased my supplement to two a day instead of one. Now, lately, on top of the fatigue I was already having (from other issues?) I have been feeling swimmy-headed and having a lot of headaches as well as increased feeling of exhaustion. I am wondering if I am taking in too much potassium now. I have so many issues and take so many meds that it is really hard to figure it out. Even my doctors say I am complicated.
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar f tn What is the onset of action after taking a dose of the immunoglobulin.
1668318 tn?1306416764 Hi weighing yourself and getting on a diuretic is not testing you. Did she run tests? Do you know??
Avatar f tn A fast heart rate can be a medical problem, shortness of breath and low exercise tolerance as well. Have you had a recent medical checkup? What has your doctor said about your general health? I take a beta blocker and that keeps my HR in an acceptable range, but I don't have shortness of breath, nor palps.
Avatar f tn I have what appears to be a blister-like area on the too of my penis at the base of the head and into the shaft. It is itchy and was previously sore, slightly swollen (has subsided) and slightly opaque. There is no discharge from that site nor my penis; I am having no trouble urinating and there is no blood or discoloration of my urine except being more yellowish (meaning I'm not drinking enough water).

Avatar f tn After he/she takes the x-ray, they will go over them to determine what plan of action to take. After a few treatments, you should start to feel better.
Avatar f tn Erijon and I agree that you are taking strong meds. How high is your blood pressure? Shortness of breath is certainly a major symptom of a blockage in a heart artery, have you had a stress test recently?
Avatar f tn Diagnosed recently with high blood pressure. New med Hydrochlorothiazide for 2 weeks. Now my upper gum & roof of mouth are red, swollen, and painful. This is not a listed side affect. What's wrong?
Avatar m tn m on lisinopril, hydrochlorothiazide and propanalol. I have sudden onset of fatigue with nausea and dizziness so I'm now taking promethazone. I'm also taking a low dosage (2mg) of steroids (dexamethasone). I have terrible memory problems and my brain is like a slug (I had an IQ of 143, but I think I've lost it). My biggest question, is what in the heck is a lymphoepithelial tangle and is it related to lymphoma?
