humulin

Avatar n tn HUMULIN-N HAS SWOLLEN ME UP. I HAVE GAINED OVER 50 LBS. I ASKED MY DOCTOR TO PUT ME BACK ON 70/30 AT MY LAST OFFICE VISIT LAST WEEK.
Avatar f tn ve been injecting Byetta for nearly two years (twice a day). My husband saw that there is a class action suit against the manufacturer because of side effects, damage to the pancreas. I did some reserch on line and found there are all kinds of side effects, damage to the kidneys, liver and G.I. issues. For the last year I have had IBS and now my blood sugar is climbing, (only my fasting). Needless to say I have quit taking the injections because I'm afraid it has caused these changes.
2094297 tn?1345389093 Cannot seem to control blood sugars, recently finished hep c tx succesfully, although still have cirrohsis but I am doing massive amounts of insulin novilin 70/30 injections (about 135 units daily) and feel real crappy as I seem to rollercoaster all over the place, any help out there. p.s. tried lantus and it worked for awhile, then did the rapid at all meals, tried both at same time, and just swithced to the 70/30 about a week or so ago.
Avatar m tn How frequent I can take insulin Humulin 70/30. I am taking 25 unit before each meal some just before meal or sometime after meal. Please advice how much I can take in a day ? How much min duration between 2 intakes ?
Avatar n tn Some people find that one works more effectively than the other, so which is used is really up to the patient. Humulin, more commonly called Humulin NPH, and even more commonly called just NPH, is a long acting insulin. It is absorbed more slowly, and it's effects last longer, about 12 hours. Usually NPH is used in combination with one of the fast acting insulins. An alternative long acting insulin would be Lantus.
Avatar f tn Why are you running out !?!??!?! If it is just running out refill the prescription early 2 days. If you have Humilin R on hand I question how old it is. If more than 30 days it is probably expired anyway. I also question having this Insulin as it has been largely discontinued for use as better insulins are now available. But the short answer is Novolog and Humlin R do not act in the same manner so substiuting can be very tricky and is probably not recommended.
20909698 tn?1624724704 I spent 30 painful, itching, bleeding and scratching years with psoriasis over 70% of my body. I have very few spots on my body Now and am leaning towards NOT taking the Covid19 vaccine because of the possible side it might or could cause it to all come back again. Are there very many people out here who have taken the Covid19 vaccine? What has your experience been either positive or negative? What side effects or reactions good or bad has there been if you have taken it?
Avatar n tn Those sound like normal side effects of prednisone. Nasty drug but can save a dog's life. My golden has been taking 50mg daily for 2 months and the side effects are horrible.
608104 tn?1352587153 5 days 30mg; 5 days 20 mg; 5 days 10 mg. As I got better, side-effects were worse than the illness. Gastritis required re-starting sucralfate at least at bedtime, agitation and mood swings limited my cognitive function. I limited my driving because of distractibility. I'm 70 with ADHD. This is the second time I've followed the pulmonologist orders for the prednisone with side effects worse than the URI. I meet with my primary doctor today for post-infection followup.
231441 tn?1333892766 Yes, preexisting I guess, but it never showed up before - probably was well managed by my diet and exercise). I was on insulin (humulin 70/30) by 10 weeks - started on six units in morning and 4 in the evening and went up to 10 in the evening and 4 in the morning in the first few weeks of adjusting. Anyway, I was able to keep levels stable and within target (<95 fasting, <120 2 hrs post eating) up until about 2 weeks ago. Am now 31 weeks.
Avatar n tn Hair loss is sometimes a side effect of taking beta blockers. Not sure if there's a way to stop that other than changing medications. You have normal sinus rhythm but it's fast? How fast? If it's consistently over 100, you should talk to your cardio about that. It's not normal or healthy. Your meds may need to be adjusted.
Avatar m tn I live in Kenya and cannot find any supply of NovoLog there is only Humulin R. I need help to know if this is accceptable please!!!

608104 tn?1352587153 5 days 30 mg; 5 days 20 mg; 5 days 10 mg. I am a 70 year old woman with ADHD. My brain is aging along with the rest of me. With the help of the prednisone and a Z pak for a secondary infection and convalescence, the respiratory problems are gone, but I'm coping with the side effects of the prednisone including agitation, mood swings, greater distractibility, disorganization, incredible appetite increases, and gastritis.
Avatar n tn i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.
Avatar f tn re having to go through this. If your shot was Neulasta that is indeed one of the side effects, joint pain. I had it all over my body and it was sometimes crippling but I still went to work. I walked like I was 30 years older than I am because my hips, legs, feet, hands and spine ached like crazy. Even my fingers! The only thing I can say is when you get your chemo, drink lots of water and flush it out of your system as quick as you can.
Avatar f tn I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.
Avatar f tn re having hard time with the sx (side effects) so far, working full time has got to be a huge challenge now. Good news is that our body's somehow do adjust with being in these meds after a while, I know this advise may seem hard to accept right now, but for the majority of us time makes this easier to handle, hang in there ;) Have you gotten results yet for the 4 week PCR to see your viral load levels?
1294473 tn?1272384580 First they prevent the liver from producing so much cholesterol, then the liver has a deficit of cholesterol to produce bile, so it recalls a fair amount of LDL back from your circulation to recycle it. Many side effects from statins disappear after a few days, but if not then you are obviously intolerant to them. Around 70-80% of the cholesterol in your body is made in the Liver, so 20-30% is collected from foods you eat. I have hypercholesterolemia and have both sides inhibited by drugs.
