Humira muscle pain

Common Questions and Answers about Humira muscle pain

humira

Avatar f tn The feelings are worse at night as it seems to feel like the tingling moves between both legs and from arm to arm, with occassional muscle spasms. The muscle spasms have left me weakened and sore like I have been working out (I wish), and I am tired because I wake up due to the tingling. My primary care doctor ran a series of blood tests for things including B12 deficiencies and thyroid problems and told me the results are unremarkable.

1326907 tn?1274923270 I know it seems like forever but after 8+ weeks on the Humira, my pain is only present when using the bathroom. I also do acupuncture and when I was at my worst I was doing it 3x's a week. Maybe give that a whirl! Best of luck.
Avatar m tn I had a high risk exposure almost 10 weeks ago. I took one 40mg dose of Humira two to three weeks before exposure. 1.Will that one dose of Humira affect or prolong the production of Hiv antibodies or p24 antigen. 2. I've been having symptoms since week 2 and have gotten worse since. It started with a rash on my torso. some of the rashes looked like purple streaks and some looked like pink spots. they weren't that many and they didn't stay long.
Avatar f tn As you well know Humira is an immuno-suppressive drug , which mainly inhibits TNF (tumor necrosis factor). There's a growing amount of evidence of the development of Autoimmune conditions, related to TNF inhibitors, such as Remicade, Humira and other biologics.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, yes, these are side effects of humira. Cold and flu symptoms are listed as common. From drugs.com: Common side effects of Humira include: upper respiratory tract infection, headache, injection site reaction, skin rash, antibody development, sinusitis, and pain at injection site. Other side effects include: urinary tract infection, abdominal pain, and flu-like symptoms. https://www.drugs.com/sfx/humira-side-effects.html I'd tell your doctor you are experiencing this.
Avatar n tn I had fever, chills, nausea, diahrrea, facial pain, stuffy nose, muscle aches. The chills, nausea and aches were almost unbearable. Was diagnosed with sinus infection. Also had just given myself Humira injection.
Avatar m tn They put me on pain meds through IV nearly cut the pain. Took chest X-ray, another ultra sound of the left side more towards middle now and blood work all normal. Set me home with pain patch and follow up with surgeon. So I did he set me for an MRI no contrast of abdominal and pelvic area showed nothing. I swear this is pancreatitis since it can't be gallbladder cause it's removed. This is acting just like my gallbladder did. But everyday I am in more more pain on that side.

Avatar f tn Hi monicaroni, I have been taking Humira almost 8 months. I take humira for Crohns Althougth reap the benefit for the AS. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and prescribed Humira. I understand that Humira fights TNFa which causes inflammation. Does reducing the inflammation stop or seriously slow the progression of this disease? I am not in any pain and I only have stiffness in my lumbar region at this time (64 year old M, aware of stiffness at least 2-3 years but thought it was a muscular issue). I am concerned about the potential serious side effects of this medication and the risk/reward for me.
Avatar f tn I am on humira and have had teeth pain eye pain and facial aches for 3 weeks. I even have had fevers. So miserable. Been on antibiotics for a week and still bad!
18894824 tn?1469465363 It sounds like it's the Humira that's causing the problems. You said the pain was not there when you weren't taking it and then it started when you started taking your shots again. Have they tried taking you off of it to see if your pain goes away? Even though you were on this med before and did fine you can go back on a med and have side effects. Or, side effects can show up at any time with any med. The weight gain is from the steroid, not from being inactive.
Avatar m tn Is it possible that you are having muscle pain, not joint pain? This could be fibromyalgia. I thought I had RA also, but I did not test positive for any of the markers, even the sed rate. There was no inflammation, that's why the anti-inflammatories don't work. Could you have osteoarthritis in your knees? I have that. Just a thought. I haven't had too much relief from FM anyway, but just thought to mention it to you.
Avatar m tn This is because any immune mediated disease like Crohn’s produces excess of an inflammatory protein called TNF-alpha, which causes cellular damage along with pain and inflammation. Humira blocks the action of TNF. Thus once the cellular damage heals, and the inflammation subsides, the diarrhea will subside and the digestion will be better. Please also discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had an episode where I gave myself a shot of Humira in my stomach and ten mins later did not feel well. I felt very sick which traveled up my left arm into the side of my head and pain into the left temple into my eye which started twitching. The numbness has really never left except to say that it feels asleep and waking up. The eye twitching has gotten better but it's a twitching that circles the entire left eye.
Avatar n tn I have RA and use Humira/methotrexate. How long do I have to be off Humira to get a yellow fever (and/or tyhphoid) vaccine? How long to I have to stay off Humira after the vaccine?

Avatar f tn I have very severe pain on a relatively frequent basis, about 2 episodes a month. I am on humira and it seems to be helping all the other symptoms but the pain. My gi doc only ever offers antispasmodic meds. The pain I am feel IS NOT cramping...believe me I know what cramping is. Not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Before you ask I know it's not an obsruction...
Avatar f tn Ya, my joints tend to stiffen and my fingers and toes begin to curl. Full body pain everywhere. Enbrel has been amazing, giving me a 90% normal life almost pain free. I’m scarred because I only have 1 more month supply before I need to refill it. My Employee based Ins copay was 25 bucks for the month. Now I am retired, it’s going to cost me 1,000 dollars a month. The competition does sell versions of it (Remicade and Humira) but those are just as costly. Humira actually would cost me more.
Avatar f tn Thanks so much for your input!!! Could you share the dosage amount of both please.
Avatar f tn Now, 5 months later, I still have numbness, walking is very difficult, can barely use my hands due to cramping, muscle twitches, spasms, tremors, urinary and bowel problems( due to numbness factor)....doc says I have all the classic symptoms of MS, but 4 mri's of back and brain, spinal tap, emg, evoked response....all show NO MS!! Any ideas? Is it possible to have ms with all the tests being negative for it??
Avatar m tn Hi I hope to get some info and help I have Crohn’s Disease and Ankylosing spondylitis for over ten 15 years now and have taken steroids and Mezavant XL 4800mg which always have worked, but have caused a cataract. I am now on Mezavant XL 4800mg and weekly Humira injections for 6 month. At first Humira worked completely, but for the last 3 month I now have got again explosive Diarrhoea and bleeding.
Avatar m tn But it also afflicts my left rotator cuff, the area just below both calves, the base of the achilles, my knees, and (within the last 6 weeks) has started to affect my fingers and toes. Along with the tendon pain, I experience a lot of muscle stiffness in my forearms, hamstrings, and calves The pain is very activity related. While most afflicted areas are tender to the touch, they get much worse under strain.
