humira

Avatar f tn Any body else taking humira? I have Ulcerative colitis and thats the meds they put me on. My condition is pretty bad because all three of my doctors told me not to come off the meds. That it could cause problems and early delivery. Any one?
Avatar m tn Sorry about your ulcerative colitis diagnosis. Does the humira help? A doctor at the VA diagnosed you with this and prescribes your medication. The maintenance dose of Humira is typically 40 mg after the starting regime that is often higher doses. Are you still having symptoms at your maintenance dose? https://www.drugs.com/dosage/humira.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2008. It recently flared up. Its the worst its ever been and I am miserable. I was on Azathioprine, Canasa, and a taper of Prednisone with no relief. Just started Humira yesterday. Four shots to the stomach....ouch! Today along with my flare symptoms (lots of bleeding, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue, dry mouth, occasional nausea) I have the chills with a very low grade fever and my fatigue is worse than normal.
Avatar f tn My 39 year old daughter struggled with ulcerative colitis from the age of 27 to 32, when it could no longer be managed by drugs. At 32 she had her large intestine removed. She had the pouch surgery (three surgeries, 2-3 months apart) and has had to be on antibiotics for more than 4 years for pouchitis. She recently suffered from a partial blockage and her doctor discovered during a CT scan that the inflammation has travelled into the small intestine (12 inches).

Avatar n tn However, I would like to say to I have been plagued with ulcerative colitis for 24 years. I have now been in remission for almost 5 years!!! What happened to bring on a remission period so long? I happened to change my diet due to another health problem. Basically, I stopped buying red meat and cooking it at home: beef, pork, lamb. We now eat lots of fish, and free-run chicken and turkey, as well as vegetarian meals. I still eat it out occasionally, but it is not a mainstay of my diet.

Avatar f tn I had my first infusion in September. I notice an improvement almost right away but I was still having issues. It wasn't until after my 3rd infusion that I really started having remarkable improvement.
Avatar n tn I have my husband (age 24 yrs) with colitis infection just detected in December 2007 and now completely leading anormal life. Can i get infected with the Ulcerative colitis if we have unprotected sex ?
Avatar m tn About 6 weeks ago, I noticed some blood on toilet paper after I wiped; I didn't think much of it at the time. About 2 weeks later, there was blood in my stool and in the toilet water. This has persisted with each bowel movement since, along diarrhea and constipation. My blood work showed low iron (likely due to the blood loss), white cell count was slightly elevated, and SED rate was elevated. With all of this, the word "cancer' floods my mind.
Avatar n tn Those were my symptoms exactly.... I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.... You should schedule a Colonoscopy to see if the colon is ulcerated. Ulcerative Colitis can cause diarrhea too if the upper part of the colon is affected.
Avatar n tn I have had ulcerative colitus for 35 years. You may have hemorrhoids or it could be colitus. You need to make an appt. with a gastroenterologist. Good luck.

Avatar f tn I have GERT and a weak valve in my esophagus, so I am not well informed with knowledge on ulcerative colitis, however, I can give to you a government website that provides information on all digestive disorders /diseases from A to Z. Go to http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov. On the upcoming webpage, look for link on Digestion, and click. The next page lists the digestive disorders/diseases. Scroll down the list until you find UC.
4652866 tn?1373428175 Hay mommy! Luckily I came across this post cus I have ulcerative colitis as well. I was diagnosed in 2010 at tha age of 19. There's really no say soo of where this disease comes from but it isn't curable & can be managed with meds. I've been on Asacol but was taken off due to it causing me hairloss. I'm now on sulfasalazine but luckily I've been in remission tha past yr & a half.
Avatar n tn I was told before that they "think" that I have ulcerative colitis. I was put on medication. But after it stopped helping, I stopped taking it, and I was fine. Then just recently I have been feeling horrible. Stomach pain, mostly on the right lower region, gas, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and sometimes stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen. I am not pregnant ( that I know of, I have an IUD) And this has been going on for 3 weeks, non stop.
Avatar f tn Those are symptoms of ulcerative colitis and it doesn't have to hurt to be serious. You really need to get to the doctor and have this investigated.
Avatar n tn Bleeding when having a bowel movement is common with ulcerative colitis when you are harving a flare. You should get in touch with your doctor so he can possibly put you on steroids and/or up your other meds to get the flare under control. They may look at putting you on iron piills as well to ensure you don't become anemic.
277836 tn?1359666174 Could this be something else besides ulcerative colitis ? How sensitive is this test he had done (false positives) ?I am 33 years old. How bad is it relly going to get if I dont do his method of treatment?
Avatar n tn I think I have ulcerative Colitis. My stomach usually hurts and I have to go the bathroom frequently throughout the day. A lot of times I suffer from fecal incontinence where i will go back to the bathroom like a half hour after I eat and I will wipe and there will be something on the toilet paper. I do not know what to do. Also, sometimes when i look at my stool there is like a red flake or something, can that be blood? Can blood show up in the form of a flake.
483733 tn?1326798446 I just find it frustrating. There is a big difference between someone with Crohn's or Colitis and GERD. Thanks for the info on the Crohn's community but I am an ulcerative colitis survivor and my son is now having active disease and really need support in that area. It would be helpful if we could even divide the forum between intestinal issues and non-instestinal.
