I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2008. It recently flared up. Its the worst its ever been and I am miserable. I was on Azathioprine, Canasa, and a taper of Prednisone with no relief. Just started Humira yesterday. Four shots to the stomach....ouch! Today along with my flare symptoms (lots of bleeding, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue, dry mouth, occasional nausea) I have the chills with a very low grade fever and my fatigue is worse than normal.
Any body else taking humira? I have Ulcerative colitis and thats the meds they put me on. My condition is pretty bad because all three of my doctors told me not to come off the meds. That it could cause problems and early delivery. Any one?
Sorry about your ulcerative colitis diagnosis. Does the humira help? A doctor at the VA diagnosed you with this and prescribes your medication. I would NOT recommend you start smoking again as there are many other diseases and cancers caused by smoking. I also had ulcerative colitis, and I never smoked. You can read more about it in my blog.
Hi just making inquires about the treatment inflaximab treatment for ulcertative colitis if it has helped you and how long before you notice a difference I have only had one infusion and ready for the next one this friday.... I am also on azithroprine and prednosolone and lots of minerals and vitamins and other drugs for gerd etc.
I suffer from ulcerative colitis and now diagnosed with superficial bladder cancer (Ta, low grade). My bladder was perforated during tumor removal (TURBT) resulting in colitis flare up and bowels shutting down after exposure to leakage. Now offered biological therapy (BCG) treatment and worried that the expected stimulated immune response will trigger another colitis "attack".

I have been suffering from chronic ulcerative colitis (UC) over the last twenty years. I’m in control of it and lead almost a normal life. I’m currently on 3 grams of Rafassal (Mesalazine) and 200 mg of Imuran (Azathioprine).
My last colonoscopy revealed multiple areas suspicious of low grade dysplasia (LGD) in sigmoid colon and recotoanal junction. There is also doubt they might be high grade dysplasia (HGD).
My doctor advised that these LGDs be removed.

So, ulcerative colitis can cause that. It's most likely pus if it is yellow. To me this sounds like complications of your IBS or ulcerative colitis. Have you started the medication yet? Is it helping?
Also, irritable bowel conditions like IBS, Crohn’s ulcerative colitis and celiac disease, which can cause similar symptoms can cause bleeding into the gut which is not visible to naked eye. So, an occult stool test should be done apart from stool routine and microscopic for ova and cysts of parasites.
If these tests are not conclusive, then you may need a colonoscopy to rule out a colon condition like colitis, ulcerative colitis etc.
I was told before that they "think" that I have ulcerative colitis. I was put on medication. But after it stopped helping, I stopped taking it, and I was fine. Then just recently I have been feeling horrible. Stomach pain, mostly on the right lower region, gas, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and sometimes stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen. 2 1/2 weeks ago, i went to hostptial and had a flexible sigmoidoscopy, which was very painfull and embarrasing, and i am still waiting of the results, as the consultant took a whole load of biopsies. to this day i am still in pain with my stomach and suffering terrible diahrea, to a point when i have neva had so much diahrea in all me life, could this be IBS or the irratable bowel diseaese ???
Hi, my advice would be to go and have colonoscopy,it doesnt hurt it takes about half hr,my friends all had and it done all young ages my brother is 32 yrs old he had one thank god he went because thay found a polup and they removed it and went home and he was fine im going my self i just turned 40i want to call on friday to make the appointment.
