Avatar f tn My doctor told me this is a very common problem for people who use inhalers. I guess for now yours wants you to get the benefit of the inhaler and suffer through these heart palpitations. Maybe you'll get used to the inhaled medicine better or later he will reduce the number of times you need to take the inhaler---or give you an inhaler that delivers less medicine and doesn't have this effect. I hope it's better by now.

Avatar f tn I only wanted to breathe, and I only used the inhaler 6 times total. This seems ridiculous to still have this infection, and I only want to know how to be rid of it. Can anyone please advise?
Avatar n tn Is the flovent the same type of medicine lije as the albuterol inhailor. I can use the albuterol inhaler but i am not sure if i can use the flovent or not. Can someone give me this answer please? i have looked and looked for this type of answer but cant seem to find it any where. I would appreciate if someone could help me out please.
Avatar f tn Xopenex is a rescue inhaler, that means you have to use this when he has an episode of Asthma. Flovent is a steroid inhaler. This are preventive inhalers. The type of drug commonly used in preventer inhalers is a steroid. Steroids work by reducing the inflammation in the airways. When the inflammation has gone, the airways are much less likely to become narrow and cause symptoms such as wheezing. Steroid inhalers are usually taken twice per day.
Avatar n tn I was able to quit using Advair and only use my rescue inhaler from time to time. (When someone decides to wear certain perfumes or colognes). I am taking grape seed extract which contains OPCs which are very good for controlling asthma. Just thought somebody would like to know...
Avatar n tn This is given when a person actually has an attack of Asthma, and is referred to as an ‘escape inhaler’. It would be good to have it with you, handy to use it when you need it. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn There are websites where you can learn how to use your inhaler properly. I use Proventil HFA inhaler. Here is the section that explains how to use it. (http://www.spfiles.com/piproventilhfa.pdf#page=4). Good Luck!
Avatar n tn What will happen if you don't rinse your mouth out after you use the Proventil HFA inhaler?
Avatar m tn My asthma was so bad. I had to go to emergency room. I use to. Suffer from waking up in my sleep and not breathing. Coughing to catch a breathe. Scared me straight. Quit ciggs after 13 and have been puffing joints for years. It will help. Its a magic herb for a reason. I havnt took an inhaler for 5-10 years almost. Blue flovent. Had the orange and the purple disc. Bs!!!!!!!!!! Natural remedy will always work better. Peaaaaaccceeeee out!
Avatar f tn If you use your Flovent with a spacer, that will help to reduce any side effects you may have. However, I'm really quite surprised that you aren't on a long acting bronchodilator along with your inhaled steroid, it is more effective then combining two steroid inhalers together. What sort of allergy symptoms are you having to your inhalers? Wheezing after taking it? Or developing hives?
Avatar m tn Hydrofluoroalkane, or HFA, inhalers use a different form of propellant compared to the older CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) inhalers. CFCs have been found to damage the ozone layer and cause other environmental problems.
Avatar f tn Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent. Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema. My symptoms of attack are severe shortness of breath, high heart rate, and the immediate need to urinate. Does anyone have anything similar to this? I have not been advised supplemental oxygen as of yet.
Avatar f tn Every time I use inhaler or consume asthmatic medications, my body starts to itch, fever, and my body got red
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, the long-acting bronchodilator has the potential to cause some of the symptoms you experienced due to the Pro-Air™ HFA (salbutamol sulphate) Inhalation Aerosol. This may require some patience on your part. Good luck Be sure that all doctors you see, as well as all family members, are aware of your severe reaction to the antibiotic so that you never again are given an antibiotic remotely related to the one that caused the reaction.

746512 tn?1388807580 I'm having a lot of trouble lately with my asthma control now that I've started classes again. I seem to be ultra sensitive now (more than I was last year on campus) of cigarette smoke. I have to walk outside to get to some of classes and if I pass more than one person smoking or get too many wifts in my face, my chest really tightens up and I'm forced to use my rescue inhaler. The problem is this has been an almost daily occurence and I hate taking ventolin that regularly.
Avatar n tn If she is diagnosed with asthma, I would recommend discussing the pre-treatment use of her rescue inhaler before she engages in very active play like running. She should use the inhaler about 15 - 20 minutes before playing if possible. If she can't do that, use the inhaler and then have her start playing at a slower pace than normal - ie warm-up pace. This should really help her play time. Take care and God bless.
Avatar f tn Thank you again for your responses. Will see my endocrinologist soon to also clarify how long I can use oral steroids at least until my condition stabilizes.
Avatar f tn I go to my 2nd appt this Saturday. I will get a different daily inhaler that I will use. Hopefully the inhaler I get will be better than Flovent. My doctor said that it will help me out to control my asthma. I really appreciate you responding to my post!
1754037 tn?1327886811 t been tested on pregnant women and she wanted to be safe. My OB said that is safe to use both the albuterol and my flovent, especially because it causes more damage when you deprive the baby of oxygen. If I were you I would talk to your OB if your asthma gets worse or the albuterol isn't working well enough. My OB also told me that albuterol doesn't harm the baby all it does is help me breath. Sorry this was so long. I hope this helps you. How far along are you?
