On the surface, I think it is smart to expect certain things out of the father of our children.
So I broke up with my boyfriend after a somewhat rocky seven year relationship. The guy didnt treat me great. I often heard (mostly in rocky times) "your a ****** joke" and well he could yell for hours. Just couldnt calm down. There were lost of trust issues, compatibility issues but we were crazy about each other. We had so much history. So I persevered through the years with a positive outlook that has caused me palpitations and constant anxiety about the future.
Being attracted to other people is not something to break up over. Have you never looked at another guy while in a relationship? The point is that he's not acting on these things. I know one thing that helps my husband I is talking about our fantisies or attractions. The hubs has a weird thing for redheads so once in a while I'll buy a box of washout hair dye to surprise him. The point is give him some slack he's normal, it doesn't mean he's cheating or will cheat.

It's scary to think about... but if it's not going to work in the long run, isn't waiting going to make it even worse for him? Sometimes I just want freedom to explore any other options, like meeting someone in my area who has all the qualities I want in someone.
But then I think about how loved I am..
I don't know anything about your gf, but I know when I went through major surgery I pushed a lot of people away. My thought process on it was that I didn't want to cause them pain to have to see and deal with me when I had to go through with it all. Which is pretty stupid, but that was the idea I had. Maybe she could be in that mind frame, so giving her some time can help. After the ordeal is over things can go back to how it was before.
I know how you feel. It seems like this feeling will never go away and you cannot imagine yourself with someone else...what a bleak, depressing and dangerous feeling.

Hello there. Im a gy male and recently had sex with a guy who is HIV poz. I was the top and a condom was used. I always use condoms regardless of what a person's status is. However I was wondering. Can body fluids enter a condon through the shaft of the condoms? I used a condom and a lot of lube, and the condom did not break. I checked it. Is this considered a high risk?
My ex-boyfriend and I were together for about 1.5 years. It was an amazing relationship full of love, communication, and mutual respect and support. Let me start out with this- I love my boyfriend to death. He's kind, caring, sweet, loving, attractive, smart...everything you could hope for in a significant other. We have great conversations, he's my best friend, we just get along wonderfully. There's one problem though. His voice has been annoying the hell out of me lately. I agree with Londres. This is not a good situation. First the old adage "you don't sh*t where you eat" applies here. If this goes bad, you're stuck seeing this man all the time. I tried to act like an adult, and not put the blame on him for anything in particular. I just told him I wasnt happy, and i think its because we dont see things the same way anymore. i didnt have a problem with this but because he lived with his parents i thought he would prefer coming to mine... anyway everyrime i went to his we had to sit and have dinner with his parents then sit with them or go up to his bedroom like teenagers.... more arguments started over petty things. Everytime we argued he would not talk to me for days giving me silent treatments. Or saying it was over. The last arguement caused him to end us for good. I was heart broken.
This is not a man you want to have a child with. This is not someone you want to be stuck with for the rest of your life because you have a child together.
So, I think you break up and move on completely. I'd wait until someone cares enough to ask you to marry them and by doing so says publicly that they are committed to you before you even talk about having kids together.
That is my best advice to you at this point. You can do better.

You are brave and I'm so proud of you for breaking it off and while you may be lonely now, you are closer than you were when with that guy to finding a good partner. :>) Take your time. You are so smart to not give into the loneliness and get back with him too. Good girl.

I started dating a guy that I had known for a while and it finally snapped in babydaddys head when he saw my boyfriend holding the baby and our son was laughing with him and when baby daddy would carry him all he would do was cry since he never spent time with him. After that he picked him up 3 days a week and spent everyday with him. It ended up not working out with the guy I was with just because we were more of friends.
