Hey, You're right, that Amitiza does not work. But, my friend I happen to have found something that does. I may be wrong but it seems like the medical doctors are only interested in my pockets. However, I talked to an herbal doctor and he suggest an all natural digestive assistant called ACOG Colon Cleanse. It is also called ACOG Herbal Master Body and Colon Cleanse. He recommends it to all of his IBS and constipation patiens.

Reported this to the doctor (specialist at a university clinic) abpndcwas told to get an EKG done but stay on the med and give it time to work. It's been a month and I am absolutely no better!! Read on other boards this drip ugh has worked for many but not for me!!

I have been on it for a year I cant go to the bathroom without taking it, but strangely enough only if I take it in the mornings does it seem to work if I take it with evening meals no BM, but if I take it with Breakfast seems to work, no chest pain or ill effects, but have overpowering urge to go but beats weeks of constipation, I praise the difference it has made for me.

My daughter began amitiza and it has worked wonderfully, however, she is spotting in between periods. Is this common?

Is it to prevent a side effect, such as nausea, or does it have something to do with how the medication works?

The prep will surely clean you out if nothing else does. That is how I discovered the nerve pain I was having in the front of my left calf was due to the constipation. As soon as the prep did its work, I stood up and noticed I didn't have a nerve shock from standing up. It was quite dramatic.

Hello All. I'm really new on the panel and I'm searching for help. In the last two weeks I have not been able to have a BM. My doctor gave me some samples of amitiza 24 mcg. I've been taken them 2 per day for the last 4 days - One at night and another in the A.M. With the 1st tablet I had a BM. I have not had another BM since. It doesn't seem that I'm having any normal digestive sounds or movements. I don't even have the urge to have a BM.

Also take Lactulose and Amitiza. However, in order to take the Amitiza must take a nausea pill before and after. Often times still have nausea with the Amitiza and not convinced it helps all that much. I've been at this for 8 yrs and have done everything but stand on my head. Without pills and powder - bowel movements are difficult and every 3-5 days. And only partial. EXTREMELY bloated. Have difficulty fitting into street clothes later in the day. Makes work life and social life difficult.

I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work? I thought it was just some kind of medicine they gave you through an IV but a friend said something about them sticking a needle up there. I went to a gastroenterologist the next day and she thought it was IBS and prescribed me Amitiza and Bentyl. I have been on the Amitiza and it makes me have frequent watery BMs...and the Bentyl does not do much. The pain is constant and I feel like I'm pregnant I'm so bloated (I'm not!) could this really just be IBS? Rafsan, your mother does need to get medical attention as soon as possible. As women, we know the severity of Breast Cancer. There are different types, some can spread rapidly without one even knowing. My mother's doctor just recently found a lump and turns out it is cancerous. I am not trying to scare you, but you do need to be aware of the high risk that women have of getting Breast Cancer. I would seek immediate medical attention..

i have also tried going on flagyl (i dont know how to spell it but it kills the bad bacteria), prednisone (lost almost 10 pounds while on it because it made me so sick (its a steroid used for crohns)), and a pill for acid reflux i think it was pepcid or prevacid

I have been on bc for 13 years and wondering if it takes a while for you body to adjust? Im sure it does but how long! My cycles are 28 days! I am now 5 days late! For the last week and a half I have very sharp pain in my stomach that were not like mentral cramps with nausea and for the last 3 days I've had cramping like menstral cramps and still nothing! I've takin 2 tests both negative but I think it would be too early for morning sickness or to show a positive pt.

I have done the doxycycline and a few other therepies that my gastrointerologist recommended. They would work for a while and then would get worse agan. I am now taking Amitiza and am doing pretty good with it. Though I have now started noticing a correlation to my menstral cycle and the onset of these symptoms. A week before i start my period I will stop haveing BMs. Completely. I won't go again until I start. And then I usually have to induce it somehow.

Has anyone gotten there skin tag burned off? How long did it take to heal? I did and its been a month and it still hasnt healed. Having trouble with constipation and I am on amitiza. Any advice is welcome. As well, my doctor told me to take a stool softner twice a day to. Thinking about starting to eat soup.

I think it depends on the type of enema. Using enemas frequently for constipation can cause your rectum to "forget" how to have a bowel movement naturally. Using enemas for "colon cleansing", I believe is not good, because your colon doesn't need any cleansing, it does this itself.
