Common Questions and Answers about How fast does amitiza work

amitiza

Avatar f tn Hey, You're right, that Amitiza does not work. But, my friend I happen to have found something that does. I may be wrong but it seems like the medical doctors are only interested in my pockets. However, I talked to an herbal doctor and he suggest an all natural digestive assistant called ACOG Colon Cleanse. It is also called ACOG Herbal Master Body and Colon Cleanse. He recommends it to all of his IBS and constipation patiens.

Avatar n tn My daughter began amitiza and it has worked wonderfully, however, she is spotting in between periods. Is this common?
605458 tn?1539228808 Is it to prevent a side effect, such as nausea, or does it have something to do with how the medication works?
5506662 tn?1369334325 I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work? I thought it was just some kind of medicine they gave you through an IV but a friend said something about them sticking a needle up there. Im a little freaked out, could someone please explain it to me?
Avatar n tn Hello All. I'm really new on the panel and I'm searching for help. In the last two weeks I have not been able to have a BM. My doctor gave me some samples of amitiza 24 mcg. I've been taken them 2 per day for the last 4 days - One at night and another in the A.M. With the 1st tablet I had a BM. I have not had another BM since. It doesn't seem that I'm having any normal digestive sounds or movements. I don't even have the urge to have a BM.
Avatar m tn t look like blisters anymore 9 days since I last took the valocyvir. Does this med work that fast and once there is formation of blisters will they always pop or can the medicine prevent this even though I only took it for 2 days?.
Avatar m tn Also take Lactulose and Amitiza. However, in order to take the Amitiza must take a nausea pill before and after. Often times still have nausea with the Amitiza and not convinced it helps all that much. I've been at this for 8 yrs and have done everything but stand on my head. Without pills and powder - bowel movements are difficult and every 3-5 days. And only partial. EXTREMELY bloated. Have difficulty fitting into street clothes later in the day. Makes work life and social life difficult.
Avatar f tn I am new to the forum as I have just been diagnosed with a 17mm herniation and a syrinx. My question is how fast does this progress because every day I feel worse. I no longer work because I shake so bad and get so dizzy. Do people still work with all the symptoms? I feel like head is going to blow!
Avatar f tn Long and twisted colon that tends to slow passage of stool and cause constipation that can be quite severe. I take Miralax and Amitiza for mine. They work, but are expensive - especially the latter.
Avatar f tn I lose my appetite with the Ankylosing Spondylitis, too. And the bowel program made that flare, badly. The Amitiza does, as well, but I know the Amitiza is important to keep the bowel moving and keep the toxins out of my system. Even before I lost my appetite, I was eating well, and the bowel was not functioning. I think I weighed 88#s in Feburary...so this weight loss has been rapid. But I am really making an effort to eat a little bit of food, often.
2102085 tn?1350866645 I went to a gastroenterologist the next day and she thought it was IBS and prescribed me Amitiza and Bentyl. I have been on the Amitiza and it makes me have frequent watery BMs...and the Bentyl does not do much. The pain is constant and I feel like I'm pregnant I'm so bloated (I'm not!) could this really just be IBS? Could the pain be reproductive (i.e. ovarian cysts) I'm going to school for nursing and it is really interfering with my education...
Avatar f tn i have also tried going on flagyl (i dont know how to spell it but it kills the bad bacteria), prednisone (lost almost 10 pounds while on it because it made me so sick (its a steroid used for crohns)), and a pill for acid reflux i think it was pepcid or prevacid
Avatar n tn The prep will surely clean you out if nothing else does. That is how I discovered the nerve pain I was having in the front of my left calf was due to the constipation. As soon as the prep did its work, I stood up and noticed I didn't have a nerve shock from standing up. It was quite dramatic.
Avatar f tn How long does it typically take for food to digest? I ate some corn less than an hour - half ago and it has already appeared in my stool.
