Avatar m tn I used vagifem for two years and stopped for about one month. I want to start up again.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).
Avatar f tn In general most doctors will use intravaginally estrogen, pill or cream, nightly for 2 weeks and then twice weekly thereafter for maintenance. Using estrogen for 4 to 6 weeks is generally enough time to show improvement in the vagina for surgery.
Avatar n tn Do you know of a substitute pessary for Vagifem or Ortho-Gynest as these seem to be discontinued locally.
Avatar m tn Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more. Can only use vagifem twice a week now, but desperate to know what I can use in between the days when not using it. Replies would be much appreciated.
Avatar n tn I've also been on Vagifem for 2 years and love the effect, however, my last ultrasound showed a build up of the lining of my uterus, so now I need an endometrial biopsy. My doctor said it could be from the Vagifem which is estrogen without progesterone. I just read the leaflet and it does say that if you have a uterus, you should discuss adding progesterone to your regimen to counteract the possibility of the vagifem causing this lining buildup.
Avatar n tn The doctor now thinks it is vaginal atrophy, and I have been given vagifem tablets. Every day for 2 weeks, followed by twice a week. I still have the vaginal discharge , except it is no longer yellowish green, it is white or clear or slightly yellowish. Here's my question.. Has any one else had this symptom from vaginal atrophy? What works to make this go away?
Avatar f tn Hello Doctor, I have a question based on a helpful response you gave me earlier. When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).
Avatar f tn t change the color. It is not normal to have green discharge as a result of using Vagifem.
Avatar m tn My 18 year old daughter spent the last 4 months weening off Pristiq and now feel she really needs something for depression and anxiety. So my question, how long to start feeling the effects of Zoloft? She is starting at 50 mg for a week then moving up to 100mg. Any information would be helpful.. I realize everyone is different, but would like to know some experiences.
Avatar f tn If you are planning on working after you have the baby, it is good to work for as long as possible before the baby comes. here's why--- that time you take off counts toward your short term disability and the family medical leave. There are maximum days associated with both of those and you'd be using them to have the baby early. I worked until close to my due date with my first taking a few vacation days.
Avatar f tn HI, I'm 27, my gynecologist put me on vagifem for vaginal dryness. My period is now a week late which is very unusual for my cycle. My boobs are achy but not sore to touch. Could my period be late and sore boobs because of vagifem??
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response, MM. I will stop taking the Vagifem until I talk to my doctor. Actually, I'm also waiting for the results of a BRACAnalysis, so she may even suggest I stop until I get those results. Thanks again.

Avatar m tn I should have said how long will it for the symtoms to begin to go away?
Avatar f tn ve just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on. Also I know steroid creams can thin the skin however when I mentioned this to her she said that it's nothing to worry about and some women are On It for life.
Avatar f tn I'm a 59 year old post menopausal woman who recently had my 4th follow-up transvaginal ultrasound because of a small ovarian cyst. The cyst is still there (but quite small), however, my latest ultrasound has caused my doctor to schedule an endometrial biopsy for me. Here are the findings: "The endometrium measures 5mm in thickness. Tiny cystic changes are noted involving the endometrium. This finding was not seen on previous examinations.
Avatar f tn Our first sex encounter was very painful for me and I bled and had great discomfort for several days. The pain is internal and the discomfort external. Could this be related to my paartial hysterectomy?
Avatar m tn Has anyone anything good to say about Vagifem [Estradiol hemihydrate]. I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.
674904 tn?1226071882 What is a typical recovery time for removal of cysts? I had a cyst removed on five days ago and today I feel like I got into a fight with a bat and the bat won. Is this normal? I'm suppos:e to go back to work tomorrow and I just don't see me being able to do it all day. I tried to get out and about today with some friends and I am completely exhausted. I don't go back to the surgons until Wednesday. I'm so frustrated!!! Any advise will help.
