Avatar n tn If I use Vagifem, will this type of vaginal treatment affect my male partner in anyway?
Avatar f tn ll stop taking the Vagifem until I speak to her, but does anyone know if Vagifem is a risk factor if you have a post menopausal ovarian cyst? Thank you!
Avatar f tn When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).
Avatar n tn Yes I've had yellow green discharge for 4 months - no bacteria showing up on tests - now seeing a specialist who has put me on vagifem same dose as you. I'm not convinced this will work and am desperate to get rid of the discharge - any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I have recently been started on Vagifem and in the last 3 days have had copiou amounts of greenish watery vaginal discharge. Should I be concerned it is very annoying.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).
Avatar m tn I used vagifem for two years and stopped for about one month. I want to start up again.
Avatar f tn I am 54 yrs. of age and have been period free for 8 yrs. Within the last year and a half I have been seeking treatment for horrible burning inside and out of the vaginal area. My doctor has done many tests and has said that I have vaginal atrophy (sp) and told me to use replens. She also recommended Prempro as I still have a uterus. I no longer have health insurance and can't afford the prempro and the replens DOESN"T work.
Avatar m tn Has anyone else suffered the dreaded Vaginal Atrophy. Have been prescribed Vagifem which is helping a little. Main problem for me is burning after urination. Don't like using the prescribed betnovate cream too often as this burns. Now trying the yes products. Some days I seem much better and then the next day it returns with avengeance. Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more.
Avatar f tn HI, I'm 27, my gynecologist put me on vagifem for vaginal dryness. My period is now a week late which is very unusual for my cycle. My boobs are achy but not sore to touch. Could my period be late and sore boobs because of vagifem??
Avatar f tn m 34 and after a recent visit to a gyno she prescribed me vagifem suppositories and betnovate cream. I am not menopausol or anything. I've just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your respected opinion, I hope it will work by using it with the pessary in? I use the vagifem, seems easier with the pessary. I used the estrace cream and I was having hot flashes again and I am 58 yrs.old! I went through menopause at 51 yrs old so I do not think I want to go through those again, of course I was probably using a little to much.
Avatar f tn I'm a 59 year old post menopausal woman who recently had my 4th follow-up transvaginal ultrasound because of a small ovarian cyst. The cyst is still there (but quite small), however, my latest ultrasound has caused my doctor to schedule an endometrial biopsy for me. Here are the findings: "The endometrium measures 5mm in thickness. Tiny cystic changes are noted involving the endometrium. This finding was not seen on previous examinations.
Avatar m tn Has anyone anything good to say about Vagifem [Estradiol hemihydrate]. I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.
Avatar f tn After having had a hysteroscopy which found 'no serious problems', but did show some Atrophy, I've been prescribed Vagifem 25mcg pessaries. I've started using them but was concerned to find on reading the patient leaflet that these are HRT and I'm wary about the risks. I'm 61 and have been post-menopause (with no menopausal problems) for several years.
Avatar f tn As estrogen decreases, the vaginal tissues dry and atrophy. This causes pain like you described. When you have this condition, it does not matter how much lubrication you at the time of intercourse. Your tissues are so dry that they cut and bleed with any friction. Luckily, there is a remedy. A vaginal estrogen pill (Vagifem) or cream (Premarin) can be inserted into the vagina on a regular basis and it will help rebuild the tissue and prevent this type of dryness.
Avatar f tn I was without estrogen for some time in this year, and then I used local estrogen (Vagifem) and Vaginal balans. My vagina and vaginal atrium and urethra are in poor condition. I have also had osteopenia previously. And I have hypercalcemia, I should not use calcium pills. Could it be possible that I have cystitis or vaginitis? I hardly have any discharge from vagina. I had my first bacterial vaginitis in January this year. I had abnormal bleeding before it.
Avatar f tn Estrogen is used to help the viginal skin, mucosa, become more healthy so it will heal better after surgery. Estrogen does help some symptoms of prolapse such as urgency, vaginal dryness, frequent urinary infections.
Avatar f tn When urine is left to stand, does cacium in urine take carbonate from air and precipitate as calcium carbonate? If such happens, then the calcium carbonate(?) concretions seen in urine probably have not formed in the urinary tract. When I took another sample, there were sloughed epithelial sheets in the sediment. The sheets were fairly thick, not one-cell thick. Maybe they were from the distal urethra? They cannot be from the labia.
Avatar f tn Hello again, I forgot to ask this in my prior post regarding Vagifem. I exercise a few days a week with weights...is it okay to continue lifting weights now that I know I have a cyst on my ovary or could I be risking having it rupture? Is cardio okay to do? Thank you all.
Avatar n tn I am 60, in menopause @10 years, a year ago my doctor prescribed Vagifem because my vagina was dry and thin and she couldn't do a papsmear. A year later all went relatively easy. The problem is I had some pressure that she thought would be worth checking so I had a vaginal ultrasound, which wasn't comfortable for obvious reason.
Avatar f tn It can really help with the burning and itching. I have also used Vagifem, which is a tiny tablet that comes with a slim applicator - no mess! When we go thru menopause those delicate areas can really take a beating and even if we take systemic estrogen those areas can still need some applied right there.
Avatar f tn I agree with cherie, i had the same problem, go speak to GP and he will prescribe hormone treatment to help there is also a pill you can insert inside called vagifem which help to plump up the skin inside again, to get things back to normal.
Avatar n tn Dear Dr. Burks, Two weeks ago, I visited a urologist with symptoms of bladder irritation (urgency, general discomfort). He performed the potassium test, and it was negative. (I tested negative for UTI with my gyno.) He's not ruled out IC and put me on a short list of dietary restrictions (no caffeine, no spicy foods, no alcohol, etc.), as well as a baking soda solution both morning and evening.
Avatar f tn I am 51, postmenopausal, my official age of menopause is 47, my symptons have been repeated UTI which have been treated with antibiotics, I have also been on Vagifem which I must admit I have been very lax at taking and have only used one box, I did use the last one a couple of days before my symptons appeared, my symptons are, blood stained discharge for a day or two, pelvic pain, low back ache, lightheadeness and slightly bloated, I went to see my GP who has put me on a two week referral and m
Avatar f tn I am a 53 year old female who has had 5 UTI's since Dec 09.When I finish all the antibiotics it comes back. within 2 weeks. Dr. I drink at least 1 quart of water daily. I take cranberry pills,&wipe front to back. I have been on Vagifem since May, sex was painful & still is not like my younger days. I do urinate after. Dr did say today if this comes back again she will send me in for a ultrasound. Any help would be most appreciated.
Avatar n tn Changed to Tomoxifin and my OBGYN prescribed Vagifem and problem solved for the dryness. BUT... now I have leg cramps all night long if I have been on my feet at all during the day. I had blood tests done and it showed low sodium, potasium and the BIN alittle low. I now drink gatoraid and have cut down on water intake but that doesn't seem to help. Has anyone else had this problem with Tomoxifen? If you have have you found a solution for the problem. Thanks!
