Avatar m tn m not keen to irritate by massaging or placing warm clothes on his face. How long does it really take to heal? Anyone can provide a timeline based on experience would be grateful. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hiya, good for u LOL!!! It will take a GOOD year after this type of bone repair, or any break for that matter to be FULLY healed. I have been walking on mine since about 3rd week post-op @ home only. No pain, I can only feel the plate in the distal fibula close to the foot. It stings when pressure it put upon it or the cast has been against it all day. Whenever I went out, I always wore the aircast. You must remember LOL.......

Avatar m tn The process of healing a fusion can take many months or well over a year to be complete. For these reasons, it is important to realize that positive results will be slow to realize and patience following your surgery is be necessary. A fusion is not a quick fix; rather, it is a commitment of patient and surgeon to a long process of improving your back and leg pain. Total or 100% cures are rare. Realistically, patients can expect a dramatic and lasting improvement in their back and leg pain.
Avatar f tn relax, be patient and do not push urself and set limits it will take as long as it takes...we all are going to take diff rates of time,....so let ur body heal...
488264 tn?1226520307 I hate to hear about your broken leg. God does have a sense of humor. Use this time to slow down and take any help that is offered to you. I pray that you are not alone all of the time, that can make recovery so difficult. Also, too much company can be difficult. Please keep hanging around here!
1542537 tn?1293207098 after the surgery it was as if no one would talk to me about what the hell was going on. what kinda of rod did they put in? how long will it take to heal? why does my knee and ankle HURT SOO BAD? My ankle has been brusied and swollen with extremeley limited range of motion since the surgery 30 days ago. when will this go away? In my foot i have numbess in some areas and high sensitity in others. is this normal? also, the hosiptial gave me an EBI ORTHOPAK 2 to speed recovery.
Avatar f tn ) i know i took a long time to heal and even at my 6 wk check the gyny had to snip away a long thread from a suture (but i had a 3rd degree tear so maybe an episiotomy would heal much faster). its awful to have such discomfort down there when you are trying to settle down with a new baby so the last thing you want is an infection that may set back your recovery, youd be best to get checked if youre unsure. hope all goes well though!!
Avatar f tn Physically most people heal fairly fast, emotionally everyone is different. I lost my first at 8 weeks and had a D&C, it took 6 weeks to have a period. My husband and I decided to take one month before TTC again. It took almost a year to conceive the one we lost and didn't want it to take that long again. I am now 17weeks with a healthy pregnancy. In the research I had done if emotionally ready its best to conceive within 6 months after.
Avatar f tn As a teenager, I hated, wanted revenge and wanted him to hurt just as much as he hurt me and it took a long time to heal. It changed me as a person. As an adult (up in age now (lol), I had a guy who just wasn't feeling it. He literally told me to go back to my ex...yes, it happened and I was shocked, but, from past experiences, I said, I will never shed a tear for a man ever again.
Avatar m tn i dont no why he did it but my tibia feels alot better and now my fibula is broken, my question is has anyone ever had a corrective surgery on there tibia and had there fibula broken. Avatar m tn Not to take away from DR. Kokil's excellent answer, but I will answer the specific question in the title. If the pain is indeed caused by the injection, and subsequent localized damage, it could take up to as much as a year to heal. That's not to say it will, but that would not be abnormal. Also, that doesn't account for any conditions referenced by Dr. Kokil.
5982276 tn?1377794537 Since you heard a crack you probably have a broken bone and it will take stabilizing it and staying off of it to heal for at least 6 weeks. Go back to the A&E and have them x-ray the part of your leg/ankle that is still bruised and hurts. They will probably see the break. - I recently broke my ribs and waited about a week and a half before going to the ER. The x-rays showed the broken bones.... I kept thinking I was only bruised and didn't go until the pain was unbearable.
Avatar n tn broke my tibia playing football[no displacement] in cast 12 weeks and there is mot much healing was told to come back in 8 more weeks for check up how long does it take and what can i do to help healing i try to stay active play pitch&put is hard but gives me something to do.
Avatar f tn The pain has gotten duller, but it is still always there without the advil. The oral surgeon told me to give it about a month to settle down and for the gum to heal. Have you ever heard of something like this ? I am hoping it goes away soon without having to take advil every single day. What else can i do to help it ?
