Avatar f tn I have been on both sides. I have broken hearts and I was dumped 2 x's. I think maturity has a lot to do with how you respond to a broken heart. As a teenager, I hated, wanted revenge and wanted him to hurt just as much as he hurt me and it took a long time to heal. It changed me as a person. As an adult (up in age now (lol), I had a guy who just wasn't feeling it. He literally told me to go back to my ex...

488264 tn?1226520307 Welcome home! Looking forward to hearing how you've knitted the strands of your life together in a positive manner, how you're managing with a broken leg, how you've found the right direction for your life. Of course you're always welcome; you're family.
Avatar m tn I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
Avatar n tn The muscle may be weakened from taking time off to let it heal after pulling it or may not be completely healed yet. Physiotherapy is a great way to find out how to safely restrengthen the muscle or heal it.
Avatar m tn Hiya, Ya sure, I go in on next Wed Sept 30th to get x-ray and checkup. Yes, your's probably will heal better than mine LOL. Just remember to keep off of it or it will not heal!!
1196614 tn?1265075773 Greetings, So here's what happened to me and my current concerns: I had a auto accident and I broke the tibia and fibula bones. After 12 days in the hospital without having the surgery on my leg I was told by the doctors that it wouldn't matter the long waiting...Ok so, when I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray.
Avatar m tn Not to take away from DR. Kokil's excellent answer, but I will answer the specific question in the title. If the pain is indeed caused by the injection, and subsequent localized damage, it could take up to as much as a year to heal. That's not to say it will, but that would not be abnormal. Also, that doesn't account for any conditions referenced by Dr. Kokil.
195500 tn?1257427532 Hi, My 12-14 year old beagle (we adopted her, so don't know her exact age) fell down our stairs Sunday. Basically, I was carrying her down before we went out and I fell down the stairs with her. Sunday night she walked a little slow, but mostly she just looked like she was sore, and seeing how I felt, I didn't blame her. Yesterday, her walking was pretty much back to normal, but I noticed her tail was constantly between her legs, hung down.
Avatar n tn Your brother need to seek the help of a surgeon qualified to repair facial fractures. If too long an interval occurs (over three to four weeks), the bones will heal in an abnormal position and repair then becomes much more difficult.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have a distal fibula fracture and was wondering about how long before it'll heal. I had fallen down the stairs of my apt. after moving some stuff, missing a step, landing on right foot, and I couldn't walk afterward. The fall itself didn't hurt me, but I knew immediately my ankle was broken as it was swollen. I have some of the posts about it and it scares me that it may not unite. What is the general outlook for this type of fracture?
Avatar n tn ve had my left ankle broken on sept 29, it was a fibula frature with a tibia dislocation, was on splint for a week, had surgery on oct 7th,plate + screws + a very long screw to place my tibia on the right place, splint for another week, then my orthopedist put me on aircast Air Stirrup Universe since then. He told me to start physical therapy a week after surgery, but I waited until 2 weeks. Now my foot hurts on an area that has nothing to do with the fracture.
Avatar m tn Alright, so I'm 24 years old and I broke my penis when I was 9 years old but never had it treated... and yes I'm 100% sure I broke it. I was masturbating and had my hand over my penis when I accidentally hit it really hard. There was a VERY loud POP! sound with unbearable pain. I screamed into my pillow so nobody would hear me and I was too embarrassed to tell my parents so I decided I would just let it heal on its own.
Avatar f tn The pain has gotten duller, but it is still always there without the advil. The oral surgeon told me to give it about a month to settle down and for the gum to heal. Have you ever heard of something like this ? I am hoping it goes away soon without having to take advil every single day. What else can i do to help it ?
5982276 tn?1377794537 Just wanted to say that I agree entirely with Jemma116 that you should have the other area. Also, taking off the compression on the fractured area may move the area where the pressure should be and the alignment of where the fractured area should be healing back to the bone (hope that makes sense) may have moved. So it would be good for them to re-rap it. Making sure you get the whole area where you could have another fracture is important for healing properly.
1042423 tn?1260994959 As remar states, they heal on their own. I've had three of them broken at various times. The brace is about the only definitive treatment. You really have to take it very easy. It's hard to say how long.
Avatar n tn s face it, I mean how many patients does a doctor see in his lifetime of practice who got their leg run over by a vehicle, and would actually know how to fully treat it? Or maybe I'm just dealing with some really bad brusing & regular ol' tissue damage that takes time to heal, and doesn't really require an orthopedist.
Avatar f tn They told me 6 weeks to heal before i get cast off, but i was in a splint style cast for the first week, does that count as one week? and also should nt have the doctor have asked me to come in for check up x-rays just to make sure the bone is healing properly? i live in a small community was treated by a regular doctor a i think.Do u think ill need an aircast after i get regular cast off or is that just optional?
Avatar f tn it doesn't sound like you took the pills long enough to have horrible WDs BUT, if you're worried about it -- you've come to the right place to get help. my best opinion or piece of advice to you, is to talk to your doctor and let them know that you're concerned. believe it or not, MOST doctors appreciate honesty when it comes to these things.
