Avatar f tn I went to the doctor due to a concerned because I was bleeding and I had not had a period in about 8-9 years. About 5 years ago I was told I was in eary menopause. I'm 40. I was told from this doctor that I wasn't in menopause but my uterine wall is 17mm thick and my hormone levels were completely out of wack. Before this episode of bleeding I had one last year and some spotting and discharge. I have had this discharge for quite awhile, years.
Avatar f tn I also have really bad anemia. My hormone levels are normal and ct/ultrasound of my abdomen are clear. Any guesses of what it could be ? Every doctor I go to is quite perplexed.
Avatar f tn The hypothalamus and pituitary gland can sense an underactive thyroid gland and try to kick things back to normal by increasing levels of the hormones TRH (thyroid-releasing hormone) and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) in your body. TRH prompts the pituitary to release TSH, which in turn stimulates the thyroid to do its job. However, TRH also prompts the pituitary to release more of the hormone prolactin.

If uterine lining is shed during pregnancy, it will cause a miscarriage. This is why women with low progesterone or other hormonal problems have difficulty conceiving or have habitual miscarriages. I personally bled nearly the whole first trimester. I would bleed heavily and then it would slow down, but return heavy within a few weeks.
Avatar f tn Currently, your thyroid hormone levels are within normal limits. The levels of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone are on the higher side suggestive of decreased ovarian function. This might be responsible for not having periods for last 1.5 years. I would suggest that the LH and FSH levels be repeated on day 3 of the cycle ( the 1st day is the day bleeding begins) to know about an impending menopause. Once we have the results, we can investigate further to decide the cause.
Avatar f tn ve had a handful of patients in their 60s who had estrogen/progesterone levels change because of endocrine issues, high stress levels (caused high blood pressure) and medication changes (and one because she was having sex with her husband after he was putting his testosterone gel medication on his scrotum!) that caused post menopausal bleeding. One even had a uterine fibroid that would break a small blood vessel occasionally on her uterine wall when she had a bowel movement.
Avatar f tn My period ended 15 days ago, about a week and a half ago my husband and I had sex with no pain at all, completely normal, but when I went to the bathroom I realized I was bleeding, not gushing but enough to worry about. When I woke up the next morning I wasn't bleeding. maybe two days after the initial bleeding I started to spot and had a severe pain in the lower left part of my stomach. It stopped the next day.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I'm 27 years old, I've never had kids or have been pregnant or on birth control. I've started randomly bleeding between periods about 1.5 years ago. At first it started as just a strand of blood in my otherwise normal discharge, then I started having blood tinged discharge after exercise and after orgasm (no penetration). Since about year ago, it's gotten progressively worse to wear I'm bleeding in between every period.

Avatar f tn Hi. My partner is complaining of stomach cramps pains. Back pains. Thigh pains and has some bleeding in her vagina. When she wipes she notices it and can see it when she urinates. We are seeing a doctor who is doing tests like. Checking the cervix it is closed so thats good. But hthey are checking blood to determine the levels (I don't know what levels) are doubling every 48 hours. We are awaiting the results. Is there anything else we can do to determine why she bleeds and has pain..?

1936698 tn?1333915193 I'm confused. My doctor has never told me anything about hormone levels and looking out for them or anything. My friend just had a miscarriage last night at 11 weeks, and I feel terrible for her and I just want to cry because she was so excited. Her hormone level went from 73000 to 1200. How do you tell if your hormones dropped and what is so important about them during pregnancy? I'm 31 weeks along and I am so confused about all of it.
Avatar f tn My hormone levels were 6000 and they could see the embryo still attached to the uterine wall but the were having a hard time find the heartbeat. The doctor said that it might just be too early to really be able to see it good. They are calling it a threatened miscarriage. In other words, I could continue on with the pregnancy and everything be normal or I could miscarry over the next few days. I am supposed to go in on Monday for a follow up ultrasound and recheck the hormone levels.

1839808 tn?1320324373 While it can be troublesome to think about shedding part if uterine lining, decidual bleeding is generally not thought to be a health threat to you or your baby.
Avatar n tn First of all, this is not uncommon to have periods that last this long. Many women experience them during perimenopause. The biggest concern on the first hand is the anemia and you've already checked that out and are fine. When bleeding doesn't stop, they will often prescribe Progesterone to stop the bleeding. It does stop the bleeding for the most part. This is usually standard treatment to stop lengthy bleeding as a "bandaid" solution.
1445110 tn?1388209711 I am currently on provera for 7days trying to stop bleeding. I have been bleeding now for 15days pretty heavy with clots. I just had a uterine biopsy in nov of 2010 that was negative and now this one is showing hyperplasia. I am 49yrs old and the hormone profile shows perimenopause. My question is what is the next recommended options. Of course I am having some anxiety since she said the hyperplasia was precancerous. I am afraid and would like an opinion as to what to do.
Avatar n tn hair loss could be low iron, iron over load, underactive Thyroid hormone, low vitamin D,levels. it is possible that her spotting could be gynecological meaning a uterine problem but one can spot now and thrn in menopause with hormone fluctuation. she should see her primary care physician and her obgyn if she continue to spot.
Avatar f tn s something called decidual bleeding where you actually do shed your uterine lining, this is speculated to be due to low hormone levels. It's uncommon though. The thing with 'pregnancy' symptoms is that they're not just due to pregnancy. Any number of things can cause these. If your symptoms are truly pregnancy, a test will most definitely be positive. You only get symptoms once the egg has implanted and your hCG levels start to rise.
Avatar f tn the hormone level will be a blood test hun. it measures hcg levels in ur blood to see if ur pregnant and how far gone u are. the progesterone i think is also blood tests, i've read on here that over 15 is good if ur pregnant, but i haven't had these done so don't hold me to it.
Avatar f tn and they did an ultrasound to find that the baby was only developed to 5 1/2 weeks and no heartbeat. My hormone levels were in the 4,000 area and I was technically not miscarring due to the fact that my cirvix was still closed and the hormone levels. They think that perhaps I was not as far along as i thought i was, but I know I was. My question to anyone is: Has anyone been in this same situation and went to full term?
