Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait

Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
Avatar n tn HE SAID THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE DUE TO STRESS........HE SAID THAT HE WAS POSITIVE OF THIS AND GAVE ME PROGESTERONE TO TAKE FOR FIVE DAYS........HE WAS RIGHT........EVERYTHING IS BACK ON TRACK AND I WAS CALM AFTER THAT.........WELL, MY DOCTOR WHO DID THE BLOOD WORK AND URINE TEST BEFORE THE OBGYN VISIT AND HORMONES, HAD HER RECEPTIONIST CALL ME AND SAY THAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND THAT THE DR. Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar f tn Bleeding for that long would most likely not be caused by pregnancy - but some other issue such as hormone imbalance. I would see your doctor.
Avatar f tn All is negative. I go 4 months no period , 2 months med to heavy period. Is this a hormone imbalance?
Avatar f tn What you are describing sounds so much like hormone imbalance. I know there is a blood test out there (hormone related) to see how close you are to menopause. I really feel for you so don't feel alone. I go through a lot of what you are describing and I know, in my case that it is my hormones.
Avatar n tn Just because you've missed a period doesn't mean you're pregnant. Plenty of things can delay a period - stress, illness, hormone imbalance, infection, diet/weight changes. If in a few weeks you've still not had your period then go see your doctor and they can look into other things that could be delaying it.
Avatar f tn Many things can delay a period - stress, illness, infection, hormone imbalance, start of menopause and of course, pregnancy. If you've already tested since being 1 week late, and used first morning urine, and gotten negatives then it's unlikely you;re pregnant. Seeing a doctor for a blood test would be an idea just to be sure.
Avatar n tn Also since your period was late, that usually means that you ovulated late, but of course other factors could contribute that too - stress, hormone imbalance etc. Some times women just have an 'off' cycle and it doesn't mean anything. You can, to ease your mind, take a pregnancy test (with first morning urine) to see what it says.
Avatar f tn Three months ago I had this same thing happen. I've never in my life missed a period and for weeks and weeks I kept taking an HPT with no results. At last I figured out I was having a "Phantom Pregnany" or hormone imbalance. I've been on the pill for nearly ten years, and a lot of things can cause a hormone imbalance from the water you drink to the things you eat to the pill itself, I learned.
Avatar n tn There could be a few things or absolutely nothing. Hormonal imbalance, stress (both good and bad), diet, sleep habits, weight gain/loss, or you could just not ovulate one month. It happens to just about every female in their lifetime. It's also possible you're getting close to perimenopause, and in that time frame your cycles usually will become irregular. Hormone testing can confirm if that's the case for you.
Avatar f tn I'm am 15 days late and 3 home pregnancy test said negative. Is it's a chance I am still pregnant?
