Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
This is so normal for a kid.Take it easy.It is good for the kid that he could not remember his sick episodes.Why do you expect him you to remember those episodes of vomiting?
You should be worried if his calculating skills of higher functions math got deteriorated or his Minimal Mental State Examination scores are way too less after that events of being sick.
You are handling the issue correctly, except you seem to be feeding into the fears , ignore it where you can, if he thinks it will get him his own way and he gets to sleep with you he will try anything, perhaps less words, reading would be calmer than DVD ,sometimes the TV and movies can exite the brain ,wheras Reading a book quietens them.Yes Halloween can be scary to a sensitive child but you can ignore it, he is 10 year old he knows its make-believe.
A good day to all. I am still dealing with the heat issue here 98* plus and it is hhhhhooooottttttttttt. I am not going back out until the sun sinks tonight to do a few things I want to do today or tonight rather. My neighbors will probably think I have gone mad seeing me outside messing around with a car at night but it is to hot here during the day.
He wants to sleep only with his Portable DVD player on but his charger is broken and now is afraid to sleep by himself.
I plan on buying a few seasons of something on DVD to watch as a distraction during early labour...any suggestions?
she is very creative and is doing well at school, however there is one thing that is causing us concern. When watching childrens TV or a film on DVD she screams and cries uncontrollably and goes straight to the door. The sign of someone hurting themselves or being upset leaves her in a panic and you can almost hear her heart beating. Now, you may think that this might be down to the content of TV that she is watching.
If you are concerned suggest increasing her physical activities (play, dance, sports) to maintain weight, and not lower calorie intake due to the need of calories for growth. Limit time in front of the TV/DVD/computer or non-active-video games. There have been studies showing the longer the length of time a child sit in front of the TV, the greater the weight gain. Suggest limiting high sugar drinks/snacks and try replacing with low fat milk/yogurt or fruit/popcorn.

s no place for television or video games in a room for sleeping. even having the television on an hour or two before bedtime inhibits your ability to fall asleep and will also be very harmful for your child. Doctors recommend no electronic exposure until after 2 years of age. I hate song outside user tv as a babysitter. It's selling to your kids. If you use it, play videos (20 min or less) on dvd or Netflix out you tube stone baby puppets. Otherwise commercials will warp them early.
