Bulk buying of meats such as ground beef, pork, chicken. Eggs. Consider buying sale items (find out when your local store typically does markdowns). If you have a reasonably sized freezer, buy in bulk when items are on sale.
You may find a local farmers market can have reasonably priced produce.
Avoid processed foods as much as possible, as they are poor nutritional value.
Plan meals as much as possible to avoid wastage of foods.

First is your alpha accepting of guests in the home? Is she comfortable with commotion? How is she when she sees you in pain? For instance... if she isn't all that comfortable with strangers in the home I would err on the side of caution. If she handles stress and commotion badly, again err on the side of caution. If she doesn't react well to seeing or hearing you in pain... definitely keep her outside or at least in another room. With all that said.
